the first charge face imprisonment of between three and 15 years and a fine of Bt6,000 to Bt30,000. The second charge could see offenders being imprisoned for between four and 20 years.
The second charge seems to be more severe than the first - seems odd to me.

I assume if you are put in a ditch by a loan shark they still die with you.

From what I understand it seems this nation is on its knees. Historically such situations invite invasion. Who knows what such situations invite in this era. I truly hope that the people of Lebanon can hold it together and recover. Best wishes.

If Bangkok Airways would consider lowering their ridiculous fares to Samui from Chiang Mai and Bangkok, maybe domestic tourists would flood to this spectacular tourist attraction.

Well done that pilot - but why did the fire trucks take so long to arrive
That would involve proactive thinking.

If you are opening the door for students of international schools then you are usually including their families as well. Most foreign children in these schools are from China and there are a lot of them. I just can't see it happening. It is certainly going to be an interesting start for these schools.

The Certificate of Residence is free in CM, unless you want it within 2 weeks, in which case it is 500 B. (this is from recent reports - not my experience). It is a money making letter.
I went to renew my 5y driver's licence today. The lady told me I needed a letter from my embassy in Bangkok. Unbelievable! The information she showed my very clearly said that (wish I had thought of taking a photo of this information). I believe she meant the one issued by Thai immigration but the information she showed me clearly said my embassy. Luckily my Thai wife explained that has never been required before and after a supervisor came over, my work permit was accepted. I wonder how many foreigners have been sent on a wild goose chase mission?!
The video you need to sit through has a one month waiting list to view though. (Not because it is good!) so ultimately I came home empty handed.

The people making these decisions probably aren't even worldly enough to understand or know about the data protection issues. To them the offer seems like an act of kindness from Huawei. Hook, line and sinker.

Looks great but on closer inspection the flights to Surat Thani don't seem to start until November. Does anyone know the status of flights to domestic airports from CNX in July. I can only see flights to Bangkok. If we are to help these beach hotels get back on their feet it would be nice to be able to get there.

Surely those numbers are wrong?! A football pitch is about 7,000 sq metres. How will this protect economic fish in these areas from fisheries.

The program due to start July 1, same day that schools re-open.
Bad timing for a family beach holiday.
July 1st is the start date of Thai schools - international schools are finishing up over the next few weeks so the timing is perfect for us.

So, is there any way of accessing a list of participating hotels/resorts? My Thai wife is very excited to have the opportunity to take us on a family beach holiday.

I have a friend who rode a Honda Wave from Surat Thani to Chiang Mai - he has never walked the same.

Is it something of a catch 22? Tourists (just domestic at this stage) don't want to go there because not much is open, restaurants and hotels don't want to open because there aren't any tourists.

Absolutely correct, the law prohibits this, how were you proposing to put the land in to your name as a foreigner?
I wasn't - it was to be in my wife's name (Thai) - only the loan.

All Thai banks have their own credit cards and want you to apply for the card and a corresponding bank account to pay the card charges internally within their banking system. The reason the banks promote their credit card is it establishes you have credit history with the bank which may consider to grant you a loan.
It is a false prophecy - if you are talking about a credit rating (as it is called in my country) it means jacksheet for a foreigner here. I had a perfect credit rating here in Thailand through a car purchase which wasn't taken into consideration for unexplained reasons other than not being Thai.
I have been with my bank for 14 years with a steady job earning above Thai average salaries. No cigar.
Don't go thinking a branch manager of a bank has any say (or indeed any clue) in your loan application - it is done by HQ - they don't know you.
Foreigners can't get a loan for a house in Thailand. Fullstop.
A few sour grapes about the experience admittedly.

SCB even came house shopping with me. Only to have the loan declined because I am a foreigner. (I guess they didn't notice this when we were all in the car).

So 1.1.1 and 1.1.2s get free electricity for April - that's handy! It was a big one this year. Just hope I haven't slipped into a 1.1.3 group if there is one?
