You need to add hot keys.....or maybe telepathy
Unfortunately the IPB message board editor used by the TVF forum would strip out any added inline javascript from a post even if it permitted a source code view. A hot key would probably use at least two keys anyway to avoid possible conflicts, so no real advantage over CTRL-F. Telepathy, no hope. Best might be to insist members complete a tutorial before they access content. Weed out most of the trolls that way too.

Not made up it's a fact.
Since it's a fact that it was Pattaya then it's a fact that "That was not Pattaya" is made up as I said.
It's been starting on the 11th for years, even last year when things were supposed to be muted, so there's no reason to expect any change that I know of. Hence the FAQ predicts the 11th. No reason whatsoever to doubt your statement. In fact I heard the same from a Thai friend who went shopping at Central on Wed. evening.

The population of Thailand is approximately 65 million - I was not referring to the population of Pattaya.
OH. But you see the article is focused on outstanding performances this year by two students among population of Pattaya, so upsetting the usual TVF anti-family narrative about our beloved cesspool. It doesn't speak to the entire population of Thailand. So how did you figure out that only two students in Thailand--these--and no others in the entire country got 100%?

Yes, that was Pattaya. Try to stop just making up stuff.

Some older ladies were on the bhat bus with me had shopping bags from Central with what looked like clothes and "other" things that should not be wet. they weren't happy to say the least. One lady from Khon Kaen said she never saw it start early. Neither have I?

From the article referenced:
A calcium scan is most useful to assess patients considered to be at moderate risk of heart disease, as well as those whose risk is uncertain. Someone who has 5 percent to 7.5 percent chance of suffering a heart attack in the next 10 years, based on standard risk factors like age, gender, race, cholesterol level, blood pressure, smoking behavior and the presence of diabetes, is considered to be at moderate risk. The scan can also be helpful for patients deemed at low risk but with a family history of heart attack at a relatively young age, as in the case of my brother.

Hello all: I have a significant library of movies. My favorite are Classic Horror then Sci-Fi classics too.
Right now watching some of the old Rawhide episodes with Clint Eastwood. I just bounce around all the time. Might be Dragnet, or Peter Gunn. Much to chose from here.
Scifi classic series we don't see mentioned: My Favorite Martian. :) How about Alfred Hitchcock Presents? It's actually not bad.

But then they'd be too lazy to type CTRL-F to show the search box. And then too lazy to type '2-0-t-h' and press ENTER.

Just downloaded the new series of lost in space. Why do all new series have to be so PC? A white family with a black daughter and a white one . The woman is in charge not the man . It has very bad reviews but i thought i would give it a try .you know its no good when you start reading half way through the first episode.
Sent from my SM-A720F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
Disappointing. I had hopes . . . . Speaking of PC, I thought I'd give the new Howard's End mini-series a go
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2577192/
but then read how politically correct they've made it. Hate that in a historical drama especially. So then I decided to watch the 1992 movie! Ha.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104454/
Now The Terror is done right, though in the last episode they managed to work in an Eskimo woman. At least she's possible. Though the basic idea of the plot is time-worn (so far; monster goes bump in the night), the heroic age of exploration theme & setting, nod to actual history, characters, acting, and the well-spoken 19th century English (!) add up to something worth watching. Looking forward to E03 tonight.

Already answered in the Pattaya Songkran FAQ.
On 3/11/2018 at 4:38 PM, JSixpack said:Q: How's travel on the 20th?
A: If it's a workday, Sukhumvit should be normal but around town traffic will be worse as a lot of people will need to go shopping. If it's on a Sunday, traffic will likely be worse than for a usual holiday weekend because many of the arrivals will probably be out shopping, too. -

I'm looking for a legal reference to the requirement to carry the passport, not the "relaxation".
In all the years I've been here nobody has actually come up with the relevant law.
Some years ago we had a long thread where numerous members got their knickers in a twist over a news item that after a raid on a Walking St. nightspot police had detained some farangs for "no passport." Now few farangs would be carrying their passports, and they didn't detain ALL the farang. So it really meant "no ID." Some farangs are too cool, dodgy, or stupid to carry any.
Somebody did quote the relevant law then and it didn't explicitly say "passport" must be carried but simply "identification," though the passport must be produced (from one's penthouse safe) when requested. And later that truth was verified by some police head honchos. Our tourist police don't really know the "letter of the law" on this point but, like so many misinformed TVF posters, merely think they do. Too bad, as this will just lead to more confusion and attestations of carrying copies and Thai driver's licenses, hopefully not for another 10 pages.
Anyway the upshot of the OP was--again, ad nauseam--that carrying a copy is OK. Actually carrying a Thai DL is OK. I carry both--I'm that good--but have only been asked for my Thai DL by traffic cops for sufficient reason.

If this were enforced, as it won't be, they'd have to cancel Songkran. More official noise. Note also how official pronouncements carefully omit mention of the ice and powder.

The first official day was the 12th this year. Guess the parade had already been planned for the 13th.
What a spin. "Merry makers," "splashing," "water" = "water hooligans," "throwing, many with war weapons," "ice, powder, and filthy water." Guess the hooligans didn't succeed in wrecking any of the floats.

We did have a report in the other thread that there was water throwing the evening of the 11th.
Lots more on the 12th owing to "monkey see, monkey do."- 1

Pattaya's a lot bigger than it used to be, but it still doesn't have quite 65 million yet. Are you also a teacher?

The reality here is elementary algebra , from problem statement: Let x = number wrong, let 60 - x number right. So 60-x - 2x = 48. Then -3x = -12. Therefor x = 4
Excellent. Beat me to it before I got around again to this thread. Perhaps part of the problem w/ most Thais' having low scores isn't only the system but also those who "help teach O-Net prep at my school." As you pointed out, and our teacher's effort has verified, this little problem is fairly advanced for primary school students. In the USA (back then, anyway) we didn't do any algebra until first year of high school.

Since it became commonly realized years ago that this behavior is permissible and crashing a motorcyclist will go unpunished, the "festival" has attracted an even higher percentage of sadists and potential murderers. They live for this kind of thing.

Yes, most pharmacies, certainly Save and Fascino. Nice to keep around for the odd problem now and then anyway.

Might have come from the clippers. Too close has irritated my neck a few times in the past. Suggest Quadriderm cream, multiple ingredients. Probably clear up the condition in a few days.

Simply not true. It would depend on the clothes.
But one understandably prefers that Songkran hooligans not test one's new clothes for color fastness. It would also depend on the "water."

Appears that media is making a division between tourist behavior and Thai behavior during songkran.
All water fights are being described as being done by foreigners. But events at the wat and such are being shown as thais celebrating.
Not really. Here's a pic w/ a farang at a traditional thing:
But it is a fact that a lot more Thais participate in the traditional ceremonies than farang. Why do you think that is?
And there are plenty of pics around showing Thais engaged in water fights and the article states explicitly: Thais could be seen sprinkling water on Buddha images for blessings and later taking part in huge water fights.
