  1. Sometimes when parking, I have to leave my car in front of the usual row of cars, and I'm told to leave my car in neutral so that they can move it backwards and forwards to allow other cars to come out. I can leave my car in neutral. However the car will not lock the doors without leaving it in P for park. Am I doing something wrong?
  2. Before covid there was an app where you could report problems. Is it still in use? I agree with previous posters - I generally only have a problem in Sukhumvit/Silom/Grand Palace areas.
  3. Thailand can't get their heads around alcohol free drinks. I was told in Max-Valu that I couldn't buy Heineken 0% at 3pm.........
  4. Maybe anywhere would be suitable. As long as they have a Thai language crash course available for you to study. If you intend to enjoy Thailand to its full, the first thing you need to do is learn the language and understand the people
  5. So...... What are the official rules about vaping???????
  6. I can't see why you come just transfer money through wise. It's available in every country including Thailand. However another alternative we would be to use your telephone app and he receives the money cardless at an ATM machine? All you have to do is give me your phone number and the code that is valid for 5 minutes.

  8. I'm trying to find a local lawyer who might have some influence with the local amphur. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Petchabun Camping?

I agree. Went there recently, lovely view, but many many resorts and cramped shabby areas. Not much that's very smart.
  10. How do you define a poverty line? Income is not a defining factor.
  11. I wonder who these 'most people' actually are? I can't believe a randomly selected number of people actually care I don't understand this political issue
  12. Those crazy tick tock timers are not reliable and you can't read them. Make sure you get a digital timer. Also size does matter. Don't go for something too small because you will regret it
  13. It's like giving my kids chocolate, and telling them not to eat it....
  14. Going off to CW for my annual retirement visa renewal shortly (late November). Just noticed my UK passport expires next September (2023). Will this be an issue? Thanks for advice.
  15. I totally agree with ThaiFelix. Why bother? I also have been here nearly 20 years and the only time a yellow book would have been handy was when they were first handing out covid vaccinations. Apart from that the only other use for the yellow book is proof of address. Which usually you only need once every 5 years for a driving license hardly worth the hassle. My only question is do you have a proper legal Thai marriage document? Or was it a common Buddhist marriage? If it was a proper government certificate then they should not need to ask whether it is legal in the UK.
  16. By the way how long is a certificate of residence valid for? I got one a while ago I want to use it shortly
  17. Why do you need your brother-in-law? Why can't you just mail it to your bank in UK with paying in details?
  18. Kasikorn is one of the preferred Banks for Transferwise. I suggest you trying to openimg and account with them for transferring any money
  19. Well I'm addicted to Pad Krapow Moo Sarp, and that is very popular here in Thailand. But it doesn't get the same amount of mention that this obscure bitter weed is getting. Partly I'm sure it's being promoted over-enthusiatically IMHO by people on this forum such as Rooster....... I'm getting a bit bored with the subject..... Never bored with Pad krapow though.
  20. Sitting in my local curry house in Bangkok, I was pondering over the possibility of growing basmati rice here in Thailand. Does anyone know if it's done? Or what restrictions there might be in importing and growing the seed imported from India?
  21. What you have stated is the guideline. However the bottom line is whether customs believe the shipper is telling the truth Did they quote the correct value, or undervalue it to get it through customs? Did they use the correct description and harmonisation tariff.?
  22. See attached. I recently experienced the new electric boats. Okay, they're more like buses than the old fashioned boats. But I must admit I enjoyed the air conditioning. 20220629_084012.heic 20220629_083319.heic 20220629_083313.heic
