Can I use a Thai DL to hire a car in oz?
Andyfez replied to advancebooking's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Your Thai driving license is in English so you don't need an international one. However they do issue one if you ever needed it. You don't in Australia. -
Yes me too last week. They haven't given a discount for holding a Thai driving license for many years now.

1st of August today, and I went to make my usual monthly payments. Krungsri is insisting on a selfie before I can make a payment, KTB authorized the first payment, and then refused others, although they did accept one or two small ones. Then I couldn't pay anything with Kasikorn because I'd already transferred it into the other bank accounts which weren't paying out! I had heard that selfies were coming in, although I understand that foreigners can't always get recognized without a Thai ID card. Does anyone knowledgeable have a comprehensive list of requirements for each bank?

Public holiday week? The queue for the ferry will go on for miles. You don't actually say where you are based.

If you're going on about morals, are you one of the many men who are helping the poor prostitutes of this country financially? With no thought for yourself of course..... Morals are biassed depending on what you are preaching.

It's waterfalls and hot springs that get me most. Recently I went to a hot spring in Chiang Mai area. Apart from hot smelly water there was no beauty to this site. I refused to pay, and we went off to a 'free' waterfall for a nice lunch.

Outgoing Thai PM found guilty of neglect of duty over PM2.5 pollution

Yes well..... It's just a lot of gas. -
I'm probably wrong, but I thought the policy of all condominiums was 'No Pets'. But some bend the rules always. There's a yappy dog in my friends condo, but the Management ignore it's existence.

Debt collectors - any recomendations?
Andyfez replied to Andyfez's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yes. If I can. As I already said - principals over practicalities..... -
Any recommendations for debt collectors in the Bangkok region? Lawyers and the court seem to be ineffective as the person concerned keeps dodging the bullet by changing address.. Before the sarcastic comments start, yes - I've been in Thailand 20 years, and know loans are considered gifts if they aren't backed up with a chanote or similar guarantee. I was prepared to lose this small loan, as I was helping them over a very difficult covid time (I have a signed contract). It wasn't big, but they now have a job and can afford to repay it. It was the way they walked away from the agreement that annoyed me..... Principals over practicalities in this instance.

Interesting.... But I don't believe it...... I used to live in Nakhon Rat.

Interested to know why Barra is number 2. Must be because of the cows wandering across it at low tide..... -

Same happened to me at CW recently. New British paaport came through surprisingly fast. Only problem was they forgot to transfer my re-entry visa to the new passport, so i have to carry them both with me till September when i get my new one.... They apologised. But didnt want to bother doing it properly so late in the afternoon..... -
Stolen iphone got sold to electronic shop, what now?
Andyfez replied to abaganov2's topic in General Topics
I would assume the shop took a copy of the sellers ID card? -
Howabout a big fine for not having a working rear light? Even in Bangkok this can be a very big problem after dark. In other provinces you can guarantee almost 1 in 3 motorbikes have lighting issues.
