  1. Same here, my passport is always full within 2-3 years. That's why I really liked the auto-gates: No stamps.
  2. Yeah, they told me that also. I advised them that the stamp has no meaning anymore since immigration has everything in their computers - and for a while a couple of years back, I could indeed use the autogates and thus had no stamps in either the PP nor the white book, and there was no problem. Two of the officers were confused to hear this, while the third one, probably having been stationed at Suvarnabhumi longer, confirmed this.
  3. I just flew abroad and came back. New auto-gates have been installed. I asked at the counter where we used to apply for the registration for auto-gates whether PR holders can use the auto-gates again. I was advised that this is not the case. Asking whether it will be implemented again in the future, the immigration officers at the counter were we used to apply for it said they hadn't heard of such a plan.
  4. That's more than half a year ago. My point exactly. In the past, they weren't they about monthly? Backlog is increasing.
  5. It was the DOPA staff who I asked when I could expect to be invited to the MOI interview. They told me that they cannot invite anyone to interviews now, because the Minister said he will change something but had not advised yet what will change. Therefore, it cannot have been announced in the RG. When is the last time you heard about an MOI interview taking place?
  6. I see. I never had a yellow one. When I got the blue one after being granted PR, I also had to bring the landlord and a witness in person. Luckily, it was all within the family.
  7. Congratulations to being a Thai citizen! Is this the first time you are on that blue tabien baan, or is all this required just to change your naitionality in it?
  8. I am surprised, as I was told at the time that I have to hold PR for 5 years before applying for citizenship. Since they have accepted your application after less than a year, this must have been wrong. Thanks for info.
  9. My file was sent to MOI in April 2019 and received in May that year, so I am celebrating my 5-year anniversary of waiting for the interview. I plan to retire in six years, and I hope the process will be completed by then. Of course, before I applied for citizenship, I had to have my PR for 5 years. And in order to apply for the PR, I had to be on the same work permit for 3 years. From PR application to getting it took 6 years, that's 14 years. I lapsed 1 year before applying for citizenship (lazy me!) and have now been waiting for my interview for 5 years. So, we are talking 20 years and no end in sight. One thing you learn in Thailand is patience. 🙂
  10. Exactly, so I replied to the correct post. You are mixing up correlation and causation, please see my earlier reply to you.
  11. Coming out is a choice, we agree on that. I won't speculate about Neeranam, though.
  12. Yes, I agree.
  13. May be, cannot find the post I reply to now. Someone asked how many gay Palestinians were killed by which side, that's what my comment referred to. Anyway, that question is moot.
  14. No. Many young guys (often in their early 20s) give it a try with a guy and later fall in love with a girl instead. It's who you fall in love with that makes you gay or straight. Many a gay man has had sex with a woman. That didn't make them straight.
  15. This is the Gay Forum of AseanNews. Welcome to our group!
  16. I guess some people just give up while others persevere. People are different.
  17. No, this topic is about being gay. It's just one aspect of diversity. Otherwise, we would talking about colour of skin, physical or mental disabilities, fashion, and everything. Let's focus instead. This is the gay forum, not the "everything you want to say about diversity" forum.
  18. I agree with what you want to say, but being gay is not a choice you make. You find out at some stage in your life that you are attracted to guys. That's it. You don't decide that.
  19. This is totally unrelated and has nothing to do with the topic of this thread, but please do name one of these countries.
  20. 60 years is not too old to fall in love, I can assure you.
  21. No. It means that when you fall in love, you fall in love with a guy. Unexpected fact: Sometimes, you will never have a relationship with that guy, as he does not fancy you. So, dear Nick, no sex. But still gay. Have you ever fallen in love with a girl and not have had a relationship with her? If so, does it mean that you are not straight?
  22. No, it isn't. Someone is gay when he loves men the way you love women. It has absolutely nothing to do with what you do or prefer in bed, or whether you do anything in bed at all. What you said actually is something I have heard from Thai people. This guy always had boyfriends, but he thought he wasn't gay because he was the giver, not the taker. Sorry, but that's not the definition of gay. He loved guys.
