  1. THe decision on whether or not something is CM related is made by a moderator not by a member. It may be the person is located in CM and will be looking for resources there.

If you consider it is not why not report it and let a moderator decide.

stop digging a big hole around yourself....I made no decision did I?....

anyway, well done for contributing 2 very informative posts to help the OP

  2. Actually, in the last step before you get the actual plate they issue you your registration sticker and enter the plate number in your green book. That was the stage I had gotten to 3 months earlier. So, it is possible to know the number before you get the plates. But would privately made plates be legal? I suppose they could as long as it did match your legal registration.

Yes correct, I dont have a licence plate but have the green book and tax disc and even went to change the ownership from my company into my own name today.

Outside in the car park there is a man with open back truck selling licence plates, made to order, tax disc holders, tax stickers....now if it wasnt legit for him to do that inside the transport office then he wouldnt be there.

  3. why dont you ask this question on a prison forum such as http://www.prisontalk.com/

I am sure you will get much better advice from families and ex prisoners than asking the expat community here.

I for one dont think this topic is very relevant on this forum

but this forum is not about what is relevant to you.

Well excuse me Harry, but how many times have we all read "not chiang mai related" ? So where is the link to Chiang mai in the OP question?

This forum is about peoples opinions, and I will make my suggestion; which was about a prison forum community... which was a dam_n site more useful than your post.

  4. Its not just the farang frequented bars that have been the target of early closures. Last night I was watching the England game in 2 of the large Thai bars in the Nimmen enclave, at 11.55 the staff were around to collect check bins and at 12.15 the police car was loitering outside a few bars making sure shutters were dropped, and no more serving.

their presence certainly had an effect.

but remarkably all the screens were still showing the game while everyone drank up.

  5. Alternatieve, you can search for cold galvanized spray, the quality is almost same (that is what they write) hot dip galvanized.

Sorry to disagree, my experience is hot galvanised will last years where as cold gal will last maybe a few years before the rust will show thru.. Look at powder coating the metal if you can't find hot dip galvanising. Powder coating will scratch tho but you should be able to specify a whole range of colours. The plus for cold gal is that you can apply more coats by brush when the rust appears and it can be used if there are any alterations made (welding, drilling etc).

spot on! galvafroid paint is really for on site touching up after the factory galvanising process, where components say as a staircase, still need to be assembled. As above it does not last but it the best solution to hide the small on site weld burns.

but never use as a replacement for hot dip galv.

  6. Same problem with me, got a new bike early December; they said all docs ready in 3 months, so went back in march. Said they were not ready, I didnt believe them andI thought the dopey assistant just hadnt passed on the paperwork.

I went back last week and got the tax disc and green book, but they said the plates were out of stock and will be August.

Just to check I went to another dealer and they confirmed there was a general shortage.

Hard to believe when in the UK you can go to any car shop and have them make up a plate for you within an hour, as a temp plate is better than no plate.

  7. Anyone know where the French will be watching? then the English can go and create a real atmosphere for 90 minutes or so.

The teamwork, the scoring, the noise, the passion, the ecstasy, the intensity, the satisfaction after the English win.....sounds more like gang rape doesn't it?

Who is screening in the city?

  8. Now I am starting to say sawasdee jao to everyone..probably sounds sh1t to them but making the effort anyway.

Sounds a big gay, actually. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Maybe eyecatcher is a woman. wink.png

oh <deleted>, and no I am not! totally understand the above comments though

  9. Having "perfected" my counting in Thai, I came here and started hearing "sao baht" in the market, whats all this about, I had learned "yee sip" then they are giving it "jao" after everything they say.

Now I am starting to say sawasdee jao to everyone..probably sounds sh1t to them but making the effort anyway.

  10. Guess you missed the reason your photo was removed in the first place. A mod removed it with this comment 'don't need that sort of photo - removed' I'm removing it for the same reason as inappropriate.

Try something a little less 'racy'

Same person but much less racy, hope it is deemed as not racy.

I really cannot see the point and the persistance of trying to display an inappropriate photo, and irritating 2 mods in the meantime. A simple generic snapshot like others have done would have sufficed.

TV is not a sperm bank so stop acting like it is.

  11. and just some other advice.....the road which its on looks like you can continue driving and get out on Huay kaew road at the zoo.

I found out, after riding a mile around the back of the zoo, that the road is now gated off so there is no exit, and there are no lights to aid a 3 point turn.

so when you find the restaurant you must go back exactly the same way.

I found the food pretty average but expensive.

  12. There is a very big one behind Hillside4 condo/Furama, I forget the name.(those living there will advise) It has the biggest selction of grub I have ever seen at a bbq; and you can drink as much as you like also (non alcoholic though)

It was around 199bt a head last time I went.

As for the setting, like most of them, not great, but when your head is down trying to stop all that meat sliding down the steamer who cares.

  13. I don't often write on here but being regular to Archers and loving Mary the bars well behaved, clean family dog, well I just had to say something. A dog being in the same area as food does not lead to health concerns or the millions of people with household pets would permanently be sick!

Clearly not a dog person then I'm sure your not actually welcome back at Archers and I'm sure that Mary attracts more customers for the place than she could possibly scare away.

Are dogs allowed in European or american restaurants? No? Why? There are no real food regs here but it's obvious any animal near food is a potential health hazard - this is not a comment against archers but I had to comment on your statement which is not accurate - sorry

And your comment is not accurate- guide dogs certainly allowed, why would that be?? give some support to your argument

  14. Learn to read Thai.

If you can't read Thai road signs, you shouldn't be driving in Thailand.

It's not however, it is a condition that you can recognise road signs. There are many signs that are only in Thai and you only have to memorise them.

Crikey mate,i am impressed that you are able to memorise Thai signs, just a shame that you are unable to memorise English as well cos your English grammar is crap, the comma should be after "not" not after "however 24.gif

Anyway, I'll get onto that one straight away, " darling where's our Thai highway code "

I don't have to memorise them, that was for your edification, as I read Thai and don't have a problem, rolleyes.gif

    In 20hrs for 15k by any chance....where did I see thatermm.gif

  15. Thank you one n all for your response, i have decided to try (The Pub), thanks to the member that PM'd me with this suggestion.

    Rgds

    Woralak (CR)

you dont muck about making decisions do you?

  16. There was three people waving at me on the highway yesterday; waving with both arms. And I thought this was very strange because it seemed like their truck was burning. I thought a burning truck would be more important than being friendly. But, who am I to judge? So I leaned out of the big water truck I was driving and waved back with a big ole smile. Nice folks, made my day it did.

your story reminded me of Joe and Petunia; on British tv adverts early 70s, I think many of you will have a great laugh being reminded of these 2

  17. Ok I understand that some people find 'spam' annoying but lets look at the big picture.

    a. as they say in the business... no publicity is bad publicity and;

    b. environmental awareness. Would you prefer advertising letters through your letter box? Think of all that paper and those trees wasted.

I think you'll find the saying is "bad publicity is good publicity" but i am sure your anagram is near enough.

and I actually make 10bt a month collecting junk flyers from superstores, so it can be recycled, its not a problem.
