I hope Isaac Newton obtained a work permit before he started practicing his fatal laws here.

Get a life. 99.9 % of accidents on Thai roads involve Thais, and if you removed all the farangs from Thailand, they would still have the worst accident statistics per capital in the world. btw these "beautiful Thai people usually flee the scene of an accident.
Quite the statistical genius, all those speculations and unsubstantiated facts.

Seems the honorable farang bar manager types will ensure responsible activities from opening to closing.

I don't like this idea! While visiting the LA Thai embassy , I went to the cinema while waiting for my visa! They have them in the Sunset BLVD area in LA. People ride them on the sidewalks. I find that very unsafe for pedestrians ! It will be a nightmare in BK
Yes, because Los Angeles and Bangkok are identical.

There is no remorse on the deaths. What about if 47 were filthy bagpackers?
My comment was towards the sinking economic boat, Einstein. However, your idea of sinking filth floats well.

Her sister lent us 200,000 baht, when we were offered some land. So, her family has always been there for us. I admit they may be exceptional, and I do feel fortunate.
Very nice. Thank you for clarifying because the examples in the first post were all a one way street.

How many 3 month extensions does this make?
There has been a "state of emergency" in the southern provinces since Thaksin was PM and maybe before that. It seems to get extended every three months with little or no discussion, it is a pity the governments of all persuasions (including 2 coups) have two fifths of very little to resolve the issues.
The 3 month extensions are made x4 per year on very limited indefinite timeframe.

It really depends. My Thai family here is very honorable. Really good people. I have lent money to her mom and dad. Always gotten it back. Not always on time. But, they always fulfill their promises. Same with my wife's sister. Lent her money several times. Once was a sizable amount. She paid it back early. With friends, you really have to know who they are, and size them up. Had a friend who I lent money to, and he always paid me back. He lent money to me on occasion. Same deal. So, it depends. Some are really solid. You just have to know who you are dealing with, and be a very good judge of character, and know when to say no.
Ask them for a sizeable loan and let us know what happens.

Definitely worth a try.

The real question is why did the boat sink and the answer is greed.
Once the boat is flooded with Indian and Chinese saviours?
