  1. Happily, the Thais will solve this "problem" that isn't really much of a problem in the Thai way, which in this case (but not all) is obviously superior to the insane hysteria in the USA.

Face it, when it comes to toilets, Thailand rocks!

Do I need to remind y'all of how wonderful those bum sprayers are ... burp.gif

    :-(

I thought that was a water fountain!

  2. I thought it would of been a rather simple case of as a transgender you use whatever bathroom matches the sex you identify with and look like, life goes on and no one cares

So the ladyboys who look nothing like a bird, and there are plenty of them, use a different facility to the others ?

It doesn't matter what sex they identify with, if you are born male, with necessary tackle, you are a man. If you get it cut off, it doesn't make you a female, rather, just a man after an operation.

    Or 'tackle-less'

  3. expensive clothes ... you buy a backpack for ...... rather, in Thailand are also good clothes cheap .... where's your problem. I had nothing stolen in the past 10 years in thailand something .... certainly not clothes

People that wear such expensive attire would never stoop down to buy a backpack, for hippy scum only.

  4. Is the application process for tourist visa really a two day turn-around? I have decided that i would in fact do this now in the upcoming month? Would two weeks be sufficient to apply and receive tourist visa? Given that all paperwork is in order.

With regards to your tourist visa, to utilize the maximum number of days of stay, you need to apply for this as close to your departure date from the states/entry into Thailand as you can.

If you apply and get your tourist visa in the upcoming month, it will be invalid by January 2017.

A single entry tourist visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. All you have to pay attention to is the enter before date on the visa to use it.

For a METV it does make a difference and effects the total number of days you can stay since you need to do the last entry before the it expires to get most out of it,

UbonJoe, your an excellent source of information, thank you sir.

  5. Everyday there is something in the news about violence against foreigners.

It made me wonder. How many Thai Visa members have been victim to violence in Thailand. I would like to hear any and all stories if it has happened to anyone else here. And what happened.

My biggest story is in Pattaya about 25 years ago. It of course never made the news.

I met 2 women on walking street. The said they worked in a shoe factory, and came to Pattaya on a 3 day holiday. They were average looking and no make up.Simple looking women. They told me they wanted to have sex with a foreigner but had not done so yet. They claimed they were leaving the next morning and ask if they could come to my room and have sex.As every one knows I am quite the gentleman so I agreed. In the room they kept asking me to chew gum they had brought with them There was something in the gum I got knocked out for over 24 hours. The maids saw me on the bed but thought I was drunk and passed out,and left me alone. I donot drink, smoke or do drugs so impossible but they did not know. At that time in Pataya every week 2 or more incidents like this were happening and young guys were dieing of what was called heart attacks.i was lucky to survive.

This is one personal example of the dangers in Thailand I have experienced first hand that no one ever would have heard about if I did not put it on the internet.

So are there other Thai Visa members who have stories of violence against them in Thailand that never made the news? If so lets hear them please.

Maybe I am the only one huh.

Are you Indian and are you sure they were 'ladies'?

Seemed there was a wave of Indians getting drugged a while ago.

Anyway, glad you survived the reaming.

  6. There have been some high profile cases concerning the rich and powerfull in Thailand and in almost if not all they got away with it after paying a lump sum of money,If that is anything to go by on how the legal system works in this country.

If you are a foreigner with little or no money living in Thailand you are at a great disadvantage,no matter what does gun registerd on my Thai wife's name yanks tell you on here.

Thank you for the first big laugh of today; I have yet to hear one of these morons spouting about the wife's registered gun. I will cherish the day I hear that story; trumping the SEAL and CIA knee slappers for sure.

Regarding the OP: You are not expected to fight back as violence will diminish your karma. Take your beating and you will be reborn as a beautiful butterfly. So as your are receiving the inevitable signature move of the foot stomp to the head, while prone.

Smile, as your new life is imminent. Happy Holidays! smile.png

  7. EMS is now ridiculous. Double price but 7 days at least to usa and uk.

This is why they offer 20% discount if you complain.

As an added bonus, complaining increases your chances of a 'lost parcel' by exactly 20%. Ironic for the complainers.

  8. Never had the urge in a foreign country to walk up to an obviously angered strange man and strike up a conversation that demanded he give me an explanation for his current actions towards an animal/even/situation that I did not have all the facts about.

But, variety is the spice of life.

  9. Works the other way around too.... I had a farang couple as neighbours a few years ago.

The got friends with another farang on facebook.. talked to him on the net and phone for about 6 monts.. kept telling us how nice he was and such a nice family with a little girl.. and he was coming to stay with them for a holiday... we thought that was strange.

But then they told me his wife is divorcing him and taking his little girl and he needs money for laywers. So they sent him money... and guess what.. he did not contact them ever again.. and the neighbour couple just can't understand it.....

Mental your neighbors were; friends on Facebook are not friends. Just a catchy phrase to digitally connect people and post exciting tidbits such as 'what I ate for lunch' and 'cat photos'.

  10. I m starting this topic because I have a dude who got scammed 5K from some Thai lady online ??

5k what? Pound, Dollar, Euro, Baht, Indian Rupee?

Baht he merely knows the person for 2 days, professional scammers rarely target huge sums to avoid persecution.

Do they try to avoid persecution or prosecution?

  11. i have acquired an automated reaction i am not even consciously aware of doing it. if my space is impinged in any way my hand goes straight to my wallet and stays there till the space is clear

have i ever succumbed? yes once possibly twice both by girl of advanced repute. i didnt feel my space was being impinged. they do staring and murmur while stinking their hand in your pocket.

unsuccessful attempt by various other characters, too may to remember.

Same. If I'm walking through a busy area my hands naturally go into my pockets, making wallet and phone pretty much impossible to be stolen

They can be stolen quite easily in that situation, there are plenty of ways for pickpockets to get your attention where you may have to use your hands.

Anyone walking slowly in ie, a crowded market, with their hand, or hands, in their pockets is a bit of a giveaway to a professional pickpocket.

Please explain how, when I have, and keep, my hands on my cash in my pocket that a thief can grab it?

    hasn't happened so far!!

Maybe if the gang of thieves contains ladyboy's and they go after your crown jewelry, thus separating you hands from you money to protect your innocence.

Then the other member (who is not going near your member) relieves you of your currency.

These gangs work in mysterious and cunning ways.

  12. Arrest everyone that drenches people who obviously do not want it.

    It's supposed to be CONSENSUAL.

    It's supposed to be MUTUAL.

Tossing at moving motorcycles trying to get them to crash ought to be a serious crime.

OK, maybe ONE DAY of craziness, stay home if you don't want it.

Many people need to go about their business without getting drenched.

Arrest everyone....the overcrowded jails in your dangerous home country is a testament that this is a foolish suggestion.

  13. I tell my favorite Song Kran story every year. A Thai dressed in a suit and tie was walking past a bar and explained to the girls that he was going to an important meeting and didn't want to get wet. He got drenched. He went back to his room and changed his clothes. The second time, he got drenched again. He turned around and headed back to his room again. Ten minutes later a firetruck pulled up in front of the bar. The high pressure hose knocked over people, tables, stools and also knocked all the bottles off the bar. The third time he walked by, he pointed at the culprits and said, "I asked you not to get my wet". Apparently the guy had some horsepower.

    Horsepower as well as hosepower.
