Probably bull, but could actually be true - The average tourist may well now not be able to come due to recessions, oil costs, etc. This will leave only the super rich, who may well spend 30% more. I do not think thailand will get more money.
Until sentences for drunk driving - throughout the entire world - are changed to something like 25 years no parole for killing someone when drunk, people will carry on regardless. These days a life is only worth about 4 years in court when killed by a drunk
What's that, about $1.3 million dollars ? I really can't see a Thai fish farm being worth that, even with life stock. But be an 'insurance claim' guesstimate
I'd start with a better education than the one they are getting. One that is not solely based on Thai culture and celebrating every day with a day off. My kid had a half day for fathers day , a half day for mothers day , where they just went into school , bowed and went home again.
The lunacy of the Thai press and law suit law in not naming the place speak volumes about Thailand now. I would now have to avoid renting ANY complex in the area to be on the safe side - not just the actual 'assaulted' business.
