As said you do not need to worry about the extension at this time.

You do not need a yellow house book to apply for the extension. You only need some proof of where you are living when you apply for the extension.

You will need a copy of your daughters house book registry. You can request a copy of it a a Amphoe since your are her father. You will need her birth certificate when you request it.

Thank you Ubon and Jackdd for the advice.

  2. I am on a Non O multiple entry visa based on marriage, this has expired and Iam on the last 30days which runs out May 30th. My wife and I split last year, not amicably unfortunately and she didn't want our daughter, so we left and set up a new life.

My plan was to go to immigration  and apply for a 60 day extension based on my daughter, but, my lovely wife has refused point blank to give me my Yellow house book, which I require because as I have a new address and I need it for my extension application.

What is my best course of action from here ?

  3. I have just left the consulate with the first stage of the process over, seemingly success. We got there at 8 the queue was already onto the pavement, by the time the gate opened it was now stretching up along side the parked tuk tuks, I started talking with an American gentle guy who was after a tourist visa and we chatted as the queue very slowly made it up the entrance slope into the building. After one hour they had only processed 20 ish people and we had only just made it into the court yard, they were asking for bank statements for all nationalities requesting a tourist visa, as my American friend got to the window same thing, I need bank statement she said, he left the queue as he didn’t have one.

At this point my heart sank as I to didn’t have one, I handed my papers over and waited for the worst, after a few minutes she said Ha Pan, I gave her the money she gave me my number and at this point the gates had now been shut and the line had been formed inside the building area, two guys were opening the gates to let people out.

  4. Does anyone have any ideal where I can source Potassium Silicate, I have drawn a blank so far, even Silicone Dioxide I believe will work, I have found a company on Alibaba.com but the shipping charge is absolutely ridiculous. It’s not the end of the world if I can’t find it,but a definite plus if I can.

Well, I think you should read what I said.

Let me break it down for you. Regarding talking, I said, "If they have any sort of relationship, they should be able to talk it out; if she won't talk about it, well  . . . "  You see I believe communication is the most important element of a relationship. I guess some do not. So, I would recommend he try again to speak to her.

I suggested consulting a doctor would be preferential to going to police. If you go to police and she is doing drugs; she gets a record and maybe jail. If she is not doing drugs, you risk embarrassing her and maybe letting yourself into a pay-off.

Of course, if you would take her to police at the onset, you probably do not care if she goes to jail or is embarrassed.

Or you do care that’s why you go the Police route,if she is smoking that shit, then to a certain extent smoking changes the way they think and conduct them selves, it has quite an effect on some people,a positive test gives them a week in Prison,if they go through that and return to continue smoking it’s time to move on,as there ain’t much going to stop them.

Its also the life style that surrounds someone that’s smoking, the people they buy it from, the friends there smoking with as it’s pretty unlikely there doing this on there own, the secrecy, the lies and everything else that goes with it.

  6. Juice777,from the consulate the tuk tuck went straight down the hill to the y junction.there we went right and followed the road to the park play area, the hotel we stayed at is on left hand side of this park with the outside seating built over the river bank, not more than ten minutes. To be honest I wouldn’t recommend the place,it’s just ok,but it served its purpose, later we walked just up the road and sat in a road side restaurant as my daughter wanted a water melon smoothy, while we were there we ordered some food from the menu and the chicken and cashew dish we had was about the best I have eaten, that good that even though your stomach was telling you your full, your heart was saying go on just one more mouth full it’s so good.

My daughter is four and a half and it’s her first big road trip and adventure, she has had the time of her life,it’s been such a joy to be with her, little things like her first ride in a tuk tuk watching that smile was absolutely priceless.

My apologies for the lack of details I just didn’t think of it at the time it’s just now as I sit with my Beerlao writing this it’s a bit vague.

  7. Ok more meat on the bones,I do apologize the first post was short but things only got part confirmed yesterday so just a quick history. We met in 2008,married in 2010 and from there we built a home,2013 my daughter was born and everything in the garden was rosy. June 2014 she went out and didn't come back, she had been caught with 16 yabba tablets on her,her sentence was 2 years 4 months of which she did all but a month,I stayed on my own and raised my daughter.

Sept this year with both mother and father sick and came back to the UK to help and talk care, they were both 90 ish,mum passed away one hour before my plane touched down at Heathrow, tough times.

Father who is 91 has Lewy Body Dementia and is now incapable of being on his own,so rather than see him go to a home I decided to stay o for a short while,it would have been mums birthday on the 4th Jan so I wanted to get passed this date.

My daughter went into hospital and was there for a week, luckily nothing serious, but in this time my wife and I were in constant contact, four days ago silence, then news started coming through from my friends that she is back in prison and I talked to here when she was with friends on the day she was caught. I am going back for my daughter the 26 th this month,by then I will know here sentence, this won't be light as she only came out 5 months ago, they will take a dim view.

Once I know more I can work out any course of action I have,I will get a passport for my daughter and if I can I would like to bring her here for a short while,my father doesn't have long so I would like to continue his care and then move back to Thailand in the near future.

Yes I should have ran away when she first did wrong, but I had such a great time raising my daughter,I got her into her first school,I helped with her homework, fed her clothed her, proper father daughter time, then when my wife came out prison and I saw how her daughter reacted to having her mum home I forgave and started living as a family again. How wrong I was.

  8. Does anyone who lives in the Chiang Rai province have any leads to Suppliers of live market size Bla Nin,we are the other side of Maechan, roughly half way between Chiang Rai city and Maesai and have not had much success tracking people down,we have had contacts but none have been suitable,we even tried hanging around the markets waiting for the trucks to deliver but kept missing them. Anything would be appreciated.

  9. We live close to Doi Tung, the cost for the water drill was 1500 Baht, the water table was roughly 3 meters down but they drilled to 4 meters, the drill consisted of several lengths if pipe with a large water pump,as the water was pumped through the pipe it cut or washed the soil/clay away, two guys help on to it,one with a big pair of stilsons to rotate it back and forth.

My side of the road, the water is poor quality, heavy in iron which settles out when left standing, the water flows very slowly through the substrate here as well, sometimes the pump would run dry,not far away a completely different story, endless supply of clean water, nearly everyone in the soi has there own bore hole because of the water shortage early this year. My neighbor eventually tried three different positions around his land, all with same story,he gave up trying.

  10. Thailand had its second hottest month in record in April I believe, that put paid to the Tomatos, as soon as the air temps get past 30c Tomatos are struggling, all through the cold season my Tomatos flourished come April they all stalled, the high temps finished them off,the only Toms worth buying now are imported, but you pay the price. The cost of running a Greenhouse to control the environment is very costly, makes it not worth growing them, the other thing with a lot of the Toms you can buy is there crap,I grow and monitor the Brixt value to help me grow, for Toms poor is 4,rising to 16 for excellent, most shop bought Toms make 4,in fact when I first had my meter i was testing everything,I found some Toms that only made 3 on the meter.

The cost will come down as soon as temps fall and the local farmers can grow them again,I run a Aquaponic garden up here in Chaing Rai and even with the slightly better climate up here Toms this time of year are a waste of time,I wish I could grow them more successfully as there's money to be made.

  11. I don't about that particular prison but I have experience of visiting someone. In this prison you are not allowed to take anything into the visiting room your wallet and keys are the limit, everything thing else must be left out side,we are patted down as we go through the door. Bags are not allowed but there are lockable lockers available you sign the key out and sign it back in. I have to fill in a form with my name, there name and my passport number this gets handed in and your given a number which is called in blocks of five for your visit,as you go in your given a card, when you come out you hand over the card and you get your passport back.

As for money there is a paying in desk, again you fill out a form with there name and there account number in the prison, this get handed over with your passport, but given back within a few minutes with your receipt. As for food coffee snacks etc there is a counter for that, everything is on display with a number against it,so you fill out yet another form hand it In with the money wait for your receipt the snacks get delivered to the inmate.

Visiting time in this prison is from 8 until 3.30, you get fifteen minutes for the visit, this is behind bars and a Perspex screen, talking is done through a telephone.

As I said this is the procedure within this one particular prison, there are bound to be differences you will just have to find out on the day of your visit.

  12. ,we drank a couple of Chang beers and a little local whiskey

Sorry to be judgmental but you should not have been on the motorbike in the first place and you should have been charged with whatever the local equivalent of DUI is.
I know many will dismiss this "Just a couple of beers", but the atrocious number of people killed in motorbike accidents here, the majority of which involve alcohol use makes this a much larger issue than many of you want to admit...and I would include the OP in this.
I rode motorcycles and was involved in motorcycle safety education for 40 years. I've known way too many instances of riders terribly injured or killed after "a couple of beers" Things go wrong very quickly and unexpectedly on two wheels and you don't have the protection of a steel cage; your entire life can change in an instant. Practically every hour of every day, people are dying in motorcycle crashes on Thailand's roads...Westerners are no more immune than Thais. The cops should have locked the OP up till the next day.

You are absolutely right,I was questioned concerning drinking and driving, the person that was questioning me was happy that I was not drunk, but I was over the drink driving limit for the UK,so again guilty and a Lesson reinforced about drink driving and not doing it.

  13. Thanks guys for the relies, yep I know what to expect on Monday and I guilty of the infrgments,so a leson and truly learnt, I just thought it was a bit harsh to take me to there office, not the police station and hold me for nearly three hours,I have read here of people having fines for not having there passport but there was no mention of this, just the motorcycle infrgments, but the majority of the questioning was concerning the passport, visa and wether I was working or not.

I need to get my Thai driving licence to replace my UK driving licence,I have googled it and got the information from there, what is the first hand experience of the members.
