Surely the child can't be held liable???? I would think the parents be answerable as to why a loaded weapon be left in reach of a minor .Never ceases to amaze me the level of care and nurture this country adopts to their minors . I realize a lot of families are cash strapped , hence the reason they let their school child drive home unlicensed on motorbikes but without helmets and 4-6 on one bike "on these crazy streets" WoW! ... Stupid is not a big enough word!

I don't think it will ever change one thing for sure if your child can make it into adulthood you can consider it very lucky . Guess like China when the population is so high do the deaths really matter ? If you don't get killed from an accident of some kind , or poisoned from pollutants and waste, suicide is the other preferred option ......personally found Thailand best get in holiday see experience then get out.

Very insensitive comment considering a young child lost her life and I don't see the point in dragging China into this topic.

  2. I find it truly amusing to read the Thai Visa contributors ignorant and totally stupid comments! So many posts with so little facts which shows the lack of economical sense these people have.

China is investing BILLIONS of U.S Dollars across the globe and the Phuket story is so insignificant. iconic Lloyd's; building in London is not Chinese owned. Another iconic U.S landmark, the G.M building was bought by Chinese at a cost of 3.46 Billion U.S Dollars The Waldorf Astoria and numerous other properties have been sold by the U.S owners to Chinese. The Chase Manhattan Plaza also has been sole dot the Chinese.

In Australia, WANDA is investing One Billion Australian Dollars for a hotel and commercial building in Sydney and another 950 Million Australia dollars on the Gold Coast. The Par Hyatt Melbourne, Sheraton Sydney, Hilton Sydney all belong to Chinese.

In France some of the best vineyards are now Chinese-owned while Volvo and Tesla have also changed hands.

Come on guys. Wake up and read some quality news and try to understand what is going around in the world rather than your heads stuck in your little Sois in Thailand!

  3. How on earth could someone in their right mind shoot their children like that poor kids never had a chance on life, he must have been mental or high on yaba or alcohol .... hope the kids and wife RIP, a very sad ending indeed.

If you ever read news outside of Thailand, you will see, this is quite a common occurrence in the United States. Sadly, a number of such incidents happen which is rather uncommon in Thailand.

  4. It might be a crazy reaction, but if you've had to concede liquid containers just over the 100ml limit at a Thai airport security check, you can appreciate her anger. I'd like to an investigation into how much those security agents profit by confiscating and reselling bottles of cosmetics, perfumes and toiletries. For some reason, Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang are the only international airports where I have had liquid containers confiscated.

You don't travel much then, do you?

Well travelled expert's comments. I guess only travel within the Kingdom!

  5. there are less dramatic methods available to her - if she didn't really want to go away with the old fart

TIT will find some way to move the blame over to the farang instead

A few more years down the track (after she gets out) : This is gonna make her next Visa a little difficult for him to get her

"TIT will find some way to move the blame over to the farang instead" . Paranoid and derogatory comment, totally irrelevant to this issue.

  6. Here’s some news for those who make idiotic comments like packing their bags and going or that Thailand is driving away Quality European tourists! According to eHoteler ( 21st May 2015),"The world’s biggest spenders dish out $3,252 on average, per person, during trips. In total, these spenders spent a record $165 billion abroad last year (a 28% increase from the previous year). The number is growing annually. Who are these big spenders? They’re Chinese tourists who should be the number one demographic to keep your eye on this year".

Furthermore, Travelers from China spent $11.36 billion more overseas than foreign tourists last year.

Australia’s largest arrivals currently is from China.

One Chinese incentive group spent 14.5Million dollars early this month in France and Monaco.

So, if you guys who think that this is a Thailand specific issue, you are wrong. Western countries, EU, UK, USA and Australia are wooing the Chinese by hundreds and thousands as they need the tourist income as much as Thailand does.

  7. For all those T.V armchair experts who jump blindly blaming Thailand for this, IT IS a problem that needs Burma to take responsibility for. As much as it is a human disaster and absolutely atrocious, one cannot put the blame squarely on Thailand for refusing to accept them. Thailand has already hundreds of thousand of Burmese people, some of them Rohingyas living in the Kingdom. My maid is a Burmese and she has a decent life, proper papers and a the protection. She is grateful for the Kingdom for her lifestyle that she has.

Look at Australia who has also declined to accept them and will turn them back. Why not then blame Australia also. Frankly, as sad as it is, blaming any country or nation for this, while Burma quietly sits there, shows pure ignorance...

  8. $4,000 a night steps over his body to get her wine, ands walks out...3 years (Thai) sentencing...A Real Black Widow.

You could not resist dragging Thailand into this, could you?
. Dragging Thailand, look at my previous posts, I never drag Thailand anywhere , maybe a few sentencing quips, Please troll elsewhere, you agree with Thai Sentencing you are The Minority...

I never drag Thailand elsewhere, maybe a few sentencing quips... enough said!

  9. "Immigration Minister Peter Dutton made the decision to reject Bandido Daniel Roach's residency visa renewal application.". Simply put, he is a British Born, Australian Resident (until his Visa was revoked).

Amazing Australia to have allowed him to obtain a P.R and Amazing U.K for producing such scum. I am, as always amused to see the idiotic comments like criminals being welcomed to Amazing Thailand.

Indeed, it is amazing to see so many Thai bashers who seem to have little or no intelligence to comprehend even a simple sentence. Their only purpose in life seems to be, to attack Thailand or the Thais as whole at any and every given opportunity.

  10. Roach... good name for him. Amazing Thailand allows Banditos and other confirmed criminals in.

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton made the decision to reject Bandido Daniel Roach's residency visa renewal application. If you were able to comprehend this simple sentence, it would mean that he was an Australian Resident, before being rejected. Amazing dumbass comments made on T.V, in Amazing Thailand.

  11. Flevering, I am really glad that you publish your wonderful experience. This is not an isolated case as for the past 25 years in Thailand, personally have had wonderful moments with the Thai people, the care and goodness they could reflect.

Of course, I don't patronize the so-called "Bar Beers" hanging around with the Bar Girls. As an expatriate family man, we socialize with quality people, both Thai and foreigners, not necessarily millionaires, but average people. So unfortunately for the average T.V Thai basher, I am not able to contribute anything.

In 2007, I had a heart attack and I am alive today because my Thai staff and friends managed to get me to an emergency section of Bambrungrad Hospital just in time. My family is taken care of by Thai people while I am busy at work and traveling. My house is left behind with Thai staff while we are away.In fact I will never leave Thailand as for us this has become our home.We are grateful for the hospitality that we are so fortunate to receive.

  12. I am appalled to see some irrelevant news articles appearing in T.V. I am often in Hua Hin, with Thai friends and I speak the language. A very regular and a great seafood restaurant that I patronize charges about 1,200 per head, but we do not order expensive crab. If we did, I would say, easily another 400 or so per head making it 1,600. This is after my so called "VIP" card which offers some sort of a discount. This is on the beach in Hua Hin.

If you are in Bangkok, having had prawns, crab and the works , to pay 2,000 per head if NOT unheard of. Unless yo a cheap stake not wanting to eat in a decent seafood restaurant , yo expect to pay that sort of money. If you are in Singapore, have a good Chilli Crab and rice, you pay Sin$ 100. So what's wrong in paying 2,000 per head.

The problem is many foreigners want to have everything for nothing in Thailand. With due respect, certain visitors from certain countries want everything Cheap Cheap. I have even seen them bargaining at a Healthland counter for foot massages!

On top of that if you ask a Tuk Tuk driver to take you to a seafood restaurant and don't read the menu, then you pay for your stupidity.

  13. My wife owns 3 investment properties in Australia 100% and not 49% (land and buildings) but I am forbidden from investing in Thailand. There should be laws that if a farang is banned in Thailand then Thais should be banned overseas. Won't happen tho as other countries welcome foreign investment no matter how small.

Let me correct this... A non-citizen or a non-resident of Australia can not own landed property in Australia, similar to Thailand. A non-citizen or a non-resident of Australia can only purchase designated, new buildings, such as apartments ( In Thailand, Condominiums). There are stringent laws that prevent foreigners buying houses etc., Most recently a Chinese business magnate was forced to sell off his 40million Aus dollar property in Sydney, as he was found to have breached the law.

  14. That holiday went well, rekindling their love perhaps.

Yes as the tourist department is advertising, Come to Thailand "Rekindle your love".

From this post as well as your previous post on a different subject, you seem to be very sour about Thailand. In the earlier post, you mention that you are embarrassed to live here in Thailand. I wonder what keeps you hanging around...Something that your native country can't offer you?

  15. Thailand is disgusting, there is no reason not to allow the boat refuges to land. Thailand should welcome them and then relocate/repatriate them.

Look at the respect Thailand would gain in the international community.

As a foreigner living in Thailand may I offer my apologies on behalf of the Thai Government for their paranoia and nearsightedness. There is no excuse.

It embarasses me to live here.

Colabamumbai, We all have choices. Hopefully you too, hence you have opted to live in Thailand instead of your home country. People who have choices do not need to be accept the unacceptable and tolerate "Disgusting" behaviour of others as you mention about Thailands stand. As a foreigner, you do not need to be apologetic for Thailand as you do not have obligations, besides the fact that you seem to have some benefits of moving to Thailand.

So Colambamumbai, I suggest, you go back to your home country where you will not be disgusted. You don't need to undergo this "Embarrassment" that you state you are going through on behalf of an unrespectful, disgusting country where you have chosen to relocate to. Make your choice!

  16. I was robbed in Geneva once and on another occasion in Amsterdam. My colleague’s briefcase was snatched in Paris.

U.K and the U.S have numerous cases of robbers and the U.S of course is notorious for gun violence.

T.V has an abundance of Thai Bashers, who ae only there to make callous remarks. Their only pleasure in life seems to be attacking Thais and Asians for that matter by looking at those profiles.

These are sick individuals are losers who have no other satisfaction in life

  17. Thailand is disgusting, there is no reason not to allow the boat refuges to land. Thailand should welcome them and then relocate/repatriate them.

Look at the respect Thailand would gain in the international community.

Do you know how many refugees Australia has pushed back? If you only take numbers, Thailand as a comparison, Thailand has taken more Burmese refugees and are sheltering them than Australia has in all categories. Australia has an agreement with Indonesia to take those boat people in rather than allow them to and on Australia soil.

Do some research before embarrassing yourself!

  18. Even the poor are willing to be poor to uphold face.

I have said, the Thai mentality is that the brand name of the wallet or purse is more important than the amount of money in it.

Really? Just the Thai mentality? ONLY Thai people will buy a luxury item based on brand name?

I am sure this will come as a shock to western world, who have for decades spent fortunes on everything from Rolex to Gucci ... Rolls Royce to Cartier ...

Is there no subject under this sun that you people can not use to paint that Thai people as inferior, stupid and needing to suckle on the teat of the Oh So Wise Westerner to show them the way?

Really? Only Thai people are suckers for brand names/ REALLY?

Please reply back when you have finished your $5 Starbucks.

The flights leave every 4 hours .. feel free to leave anytime.

    Bravo bravo, bloody well said!

    Very true!

  19. As always it is appalling to see all the Thai bashers drooling with this news item. If these T.V.T.B's ( Thai Visa Thai Bashers) care to look into their own "so called" developed countries and societies, you will see the U.S students, as well as many other countries including Australia, are totally abusing the taxpayers money in terms of student loans many of which are not repaid. In Australia, because graduates living overseas don't have to do Australian tax returns, there is no way to know if they are earning to repay loans and many get off scot-free. In the U.S, Seven out of 10 graduates use student loans. In 2012, they left school with an average of $29,400 in student loan debt. According to a report, "So many students are graduating from college with so much debt that they cannot buy homes, threatening the nation's housing recovery and blocking a generation of young people from attaining that first staple of the American Dream.”

It is shameful, to abuse taxpayers money and Government subsidies. I salute the Thai parents for using their own means for the education of their children rather than abusing loan facilities and other social benefits.

  20. If they want to find that plane then just tell most of Asia that the plane was carrying a secret cargo of gold and watch 1/2 of China and much of SE Asia heading out to find it.

Totally insensitive and inappropriate comment considering families and loved ones of those 300 victims are suffering and still having hopes of finding the bodies. Only someone with no feelings and no heart, not to mention no brains, could make an idiotic comment like this.

Maybe not appropriate, but not insensitive. There is basically one country doing the looking. It might be a good idea to get some more people out looking for it. If anything is insensitive, it is that.

Insensitive= lacking feeling or tact- Source Merriam-Webster ...Enough said!
