My condo is right beside a Chinese hotel and every morning when I'm going to work there are like 15 tour buses creating a cluster <deleted> blocking people from going to work...
Have you thought of relocating somewhere?

For those T.V brain surgeons who make comments like "Chinese Masters visiting their new colony", as well people making other derogatory remarks, here's some news. Chinese corporation Tiens Group were taken on an all-expenses-paid vacation to France and Monaco by their founder and chairman, Li Jinyuan, last week. The massive getaway was in celebration of the company’s 20th anniversary, which the group celebrated with a four-day stay in Paris, the French Riviera and Monaco, which was reported by C.N.N. The cost for the Chinese company was 14.5 million U.S Dollars which was income for France and Monaco, besides the airlines. E.U countries and U.K travel agents are encouraging such incentives out China and the U.S saw the largest number of Chinese visitors in the past one year. Go figure!
No amount of money can buy class............................
And yes I could create an extra income by keeping pigs in my garden, but....................
We are not debating class here. My post was a response to some idiotic comments made with regards relating to Thailand. I am making a point here to say that Thailand is not specific to Chinese travellers. the "Classy" destinations such as France. Monaco, the U.K, Australia and the U.S are creating packages and making specific arrangements to welcome the Chinese money into their coffers. Those "Classy" countries are enjoying the boost in the economy. No country has denied any Chinese business but on the contrary making Immigration and such procedures easier to accommodate the Chinese travellers. Soon, the "So Called" Classy society might have no place to go to...

Why is that each and every incident, as if uncommon in any other country or society, such as an accident ( in this case seemingly An Accident) robbery, a death; needs to be blamed on Thailand and the Thais as a whole! It seems that most of the T.V members' sole intention is to bash Thailand and the Thais regardless of ethics and fairness. Even if there would be a report of an incident elsewhere, some T.V members would have no hesitation to promptly drag Thais into the discussion. These are irresponsible, biased and "sorry" people who have no purpose in life other than to bash the Thais. while enjoying the freedom, hospitality and the benefits of living in Thailand.

Groundbreaking news from T.V. Bravo!!!

There is no mention of someone becoming filthy rich, because of the Chinese. What I am trying to explain is that China has and continuing to invest in numerous developed and third world countries. Every country with Chinese investments will have director indirect benefits in terms of employment, infrastructure and basic needs depending on where you are. Yes, of course you could go to the Himalayas and become a hermit. Clean world, clean water...
Economics is not most important. "Money can't buy me love" Beatles.
I'd much rather be poor and reside in a clean world with clean water, than be filthy rich and live in a cesspool. How about you? -
T.V is full of racists, especially against the Asians. Sadly, those racists do not seem to have a clue, how many billions are being invested by the Chinese in any given country. The U.S, U, K, E.U, Australia and of course others. Those Chinese investments employ people of those countries, pay taxes that benefits those citizens and the development. Stupid armchair commentators need to do some research to understand that they must be one way or other benefiting from the Chinese investments already if not in the future. According to the I.M.F, China, in 2015, will generate $17.6 trillion — compared with $17.4 trillion for the U.S.A. Go figure!

Sounds like he would be at home on Thai visa forum.
Absolutely true. Only this time, he will be on the receiving end as T.V is also T.B

Now if they had been colonised?. Just look around at the rest of Asean!
Colonies don't exist for the information of those dumb XXXX's who seem to be still centuries behind.

Regardless of a Do Not Disturb ( D.N.D) sign, hotels are legally obliged to check such D.N.D rooms by calling Guests ( Customers) if the sign is displayed for over 24 hours. ( some hotels might have shorter period i,e 18 hours) . This is s system specifically designed to ensure that such situations do not arise. If there is no response, hotel staff had the right to go to sch rooms, with management or security, to ensure there is no unforeseen incident, such as this;
The said hotel being managed by an International management company, obviously the D.N.D policy is part of the day to day operational requirements, which obviously had been missed out. A few year ago another major branded hotel in Bangkok had exactly the same problem and escaped legal action due to technicalities that I am not going to discuss here.
It is very surprising that such a basic operational policy could be overlooked.

This is a tragedy. R I P for those who passed away and condolences to the families. The law for drink driving has been tightened but, unfortunately, the awareness or the respect for such laws are still inexistent. Even China where I often travel the laws are very tough and one very famous case was of a popular actor who was caught but with all his celebrity status and connections, he could not escape and ended up in jail for several months. That being said, In China the first thing the police does is to confiscate mobile phones. That blocks anyone from using influence or calling "Connections."

Only the other day I ready a similar story in the U.S where a school teacher was severely injured and wants the teenager to be sent to jail.

"but after he ran out of the money, the woman left."
Oh, the shock and surprise at that. I can only wonder if something like that has every happened to any other man here in Thailand?
The post said a woman, who owns a foods shop next door, has been giving him free meals for two months already.
Obviously Just1Voice has not read the other part. Tunnelvision when it comes to bashing Thais. I am not sure about the JustVision

The economy is in tatters as it is, according for the BP this morning export forecast is going to be reduced again to around 1%.
Tourist spending is down, the 400,000 Chinese didn't appear for Songkran, hotels offering up to 50% discount for Thais, and still people like the Tourism minister will turn facts into fiction. And there will be the usual Kool aid gang defending their statistics through graphs produced to make the Titanic look like she was meant to be a submarine !!!
Can you provide a citation on your theory that 400,000 Chinese did not appear for Songkran. Seems like you have been Cherry Picking!

If it's true that the Finnish man left and returned with a knife all bets are off. I'd rather be shot than stabbed. A knife cuts a wide swath with a good change of hitting a vital artery or organ.
If that's true about the knife I don't blame the Brits and as reported Thais for stopping the guy. The more the better.
"The witnesses said both Thais and foreigners stepped in to stop the brawl."
It just shows that ANY nationality can gang up on others and its not an exclusive Thai thing like some foreigners like to believe.
Regardless of which nationality is involved in wrongdoings, inevitably the Thais had to be blamed...Typical Thai bashing mentaity

Why is it that every event, a murder, a normal death of an old person; anything at all; is blamed on Thai's or Thailand. He we are, TV posts questioning Emotions and Leadership of Thai's. All you need to do is to read the U.S news where everyday gruesome stuff are reported. Police brutality, gun violence, school kids murdering their own mates and teachers, even cannibalism. Why don't these bastards who whine about everything here crawl back to wherever they come from...

Each day when you read the news or watch T.V you hear about guns and other related violence, in the U.S. The gun culture is a menace to the society. It does not matter if the criminals are white or black; the fact of the matter is people are getting killed, attacked, abused and made to suffer. Supposedly a developed country with law and order.
-
If Thailand is such a rut that the T.V members who post such negative stuff, continue to suffer here, <deleted> are they dong in Thailand!!! We have choices. ( Perhaps they don't hence rotting here)

Do these people ever visit these places? The second on the list is Siem Reap, Cambodia. Chosen from the whole world. The first five:
Marrakech, MoroccoSiem Reap, CambodiaIstanbul, TurkeyHanoi, VietnamPrague, Czech RepublicIs this for a family? Is this all there is in the world? I wouldn't even choose New York as #1 in the US much less in the top group in the world.I shake my head when I see these lists and think of all of the great places I've seen which aren't on it.Oh well. Each to their own.
Marrakech - my ex-wife and daughter went there for a holiday. Cut it short and bought an expensive extra one way ticket home. They said the food was disgusting, everywhere dirty. hotel service poor, rip offs all over the markets, and they were constantly being groped, touched, leered at, and some very suggestive remarks. They travel a lot and are very well traveled. This is the only place they left early.
Prague - went there for a business conference several years ago. Seedy place. Early evening I went for a walk. Many long queues at bus stops, people on their way home. Surprisingly large amount of them were swigging from large bottles of beer - all ages and both sexes. Fine but when they wanted to relieve themselves they simply went in between 2 vehicles in the long lines of parked cars and pissed. Class place!
Best to stay home!

I ask the same question. If you are being scammed in this, according to you dangerous, stinking city, why not go back to whichever hole wherever you come from? Be safe.
This is a worrying fall for Bangkok! It's normally ranked no. 1 in the world for the past decade. Instant drop of 18 places on the list... What on earth happened? Did people realize it's a chaotic, stinking, dirty, dangerous, noisy place full of people who don't really like foreigners but are happy to try to scam them at every opportunity?
Utter nonsense. if you are being scammed at every turn, I might suggest you are visiting the wrong places. Stay away from tourist traps because you will get scammed in every city in the world there. Stay away from establishments catering to Westerners because you are asking to be a sucker. Stay away from the sex trade because scamming is what they do. If you live in a nice residential area you will not get scammed everyday. Years in BKK and the worst that has happened to me is 1) paying too much for a Tuk Tuk ride but it was hot and I was lost. 2) having someone over weigh a Dragon fruit and charge me an extra 20 baht.
More often than not, local Thais will always make the correct change and in several cases I have had them chase after me when I gave them an amount that I thought was correct and walked away but change was owed. You are really a cynical, old expat apparently who came to BKK to live as a Westerner. if you hate it here so much...why are you staying ?

This is not the Mastercard ranking. This is TripAdvisor. Bangkok has climbed a couple of places. Not fallen.

Paradise lost! The island has been run by mafia and their offspring fuelled by hot money since the late 90's. Haven't been there since 2001 and no plan to return.... it's good they are making an effort to clean out the dirty laundry though. Imagine they might find a few Interpol poster boys and girls if they look hard enough.
so you haven't even been there for 14 years yet know all about who runs it?
I bet you didn't even know back then :-)Well said. No clue what's going on but has to make a comment anyway.

After all these posts , my conclusion is that many of these are carrying around half empty, not glasses, but Skulls...ha ha.

I also have Thai friends, some for many years, but, I'm realistic enough to realise that I should never rely on them if trouble came my way..........
That sucks. I have Thai friends that have pulled my biscuits from the fire more than once.I am alive today, after having a massive cardiac arrest because of my Thai colleagues who rushed me in time to the hospital and the Thai doctors and their staff who saved me and took care of me. I was in the U.S and had to go to the hospital for an emergency. Waited for over an hour to get my Insurance sorted out before a Doctor saw me. Nuff said!

Totally insensitive and inappropriate comment considering families and loved ones of those 300 victims are suffering and still having hopes of finding the bodies. Only someone with no feelings and no heart, not to mention no brains, could make an idiotic comment like this.
