  1. Israel was part created by terrorism.

Sure, after 20 years of terrorist attacks by the Arabs that started the conflict. It was only a couple of years after Dresden, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. No one was too careful about how they fought back then.

    Arabs started the conflict?

Do you really believe that to be true?

It was the invasion of Palestine by European Jews that created this inferno.

  2. Maybe a link, some capital letters and spaces after commas? Just for the sake of coherence, you understand. Oh, and check the spelling of "know".

grammer police active tonight, pathetic and irreverent post,do grow up if your going to make sarcastic and childish comments.

Irreverent or Irrelevant post? Your or You're?

    Sorry (not).

Have some tolerance for those who use creative English.

    They're usually from down under.

  3. Post insulting another member removed.

That was a post by the OP against me.

    Please put it back.

It goes to show the character of the poster. It was tame compared to the PM he sent me. I have made mistakes and been laughed at. I can name you three posters who just love to see it happen and many the time when they jump on me I will just hit a I like response.

    Good for you, northernjohn.

You have the spunk to defend yourself.

  4. I hope the do gooders are happy now they have wrecked Europe, and for those who don't believe this try watching the link below.

Perhaps in the mind of a simpleton that kind of sensationalized crap feels like it actually means something, like something was said, but thankfully my mind is capable of rational thought and so I see through the drama and the scary music and see it for what that really is, Nazi propaganda.

It is certainly a very carefully edited film, which through both imagery and soundbites sets out to create a very scary scenario. Hugely exaggerated? Probably. But Europe does have a major problem now, simply because many of its governments have decided to accept these people, irrespective of whether they are refugees or economic migrants, and have done so without heeding or consulting their populations. The results of migration on this scale will be significant (Cologne on New Years Eve?),are ignored or not discussed by these governments, and are not wanted by the people of Europe . Perhaps for continental Europe it is too late. At least the British Isles have a physical barrier (the sea) which will stop them.

I really cannot see Thailand as a significant transit point in this movement of peoples.

Neither could anybody else who had even half a brain.

There is no significant movement of people from Syria through Thailand to the EU.

    It's just not true.

  5. Farangness. What is wrong with these people? I would love to see the Thais reaction at the rehab clinic when he tells them why he is there. Is he being treated for alcohol problems or sex addiction? Or was he that drunk he confused the dog for his Aussie girlfriend?

Be fair, he probably fancied a change from the sheep.

    He's Aussie not Kiwi.

What difference would that make to the sheep?

  6. The best place to buy what you will need for that is Kamtieng Market.

The area near the Tesco Lotus on the superhighway, north side of town, has several very good outlets that sell what you are looking for.

  7. visa on arrival

Most likely you mean a visa exempt entry.

A visa on arrival is only available to certain nationalities, is good for only 15 days and cost Baht 1000.

Umm... no. The OP's post asks about visa-on-arrival when crossing INTO Laos not into Thailand. There's a visa-on-arrival service for most nationals in Laos and it's not a visa exempt service.

    He says it's a border run/visa run...

That seems to imply that he wants to do a turn-around and re-enter Thailand.

I may be wrong, but that's how I read it.

A 30-day visa on arrival for Laos is no problem. The problem might be getting a visa on arrival back into Thailand - especially if his passport is full of Thai stamps.

The situation now isn't what it used to be.

    Good luck in any event.

  8. Anything but the old trogs on BA!!!

Worst cabin crew on the planet by a mile, and I've flown a few airlines in my time.

Treat passengers as if you're interrupting their shopping trips and gossip by daring to expect any kind of service.

Not much better on the ground either.

Shame, because it really did used to be the best.

    BA the best... when?

Maybe you're not old enough to remember Pan Am.

  9. That news story is a lie.

The majority of Palestinians want the Jews out of all of Israel.

The settlements in the west bank aren't helpful, but leaving them won't bring peace any more than leaving Gaza brought peace. The Hamas government in Gaza is more honest about this, their charter has clear genocidal intentions towards Jews. No they don't have the capability for that. That's the idea ... don't let them ever get that capability.

Go to any Israel demonization protest anywhere these days and what chant will you hear:

Free Palestine, from the river to the sea.

They know what they're chanting. That's a chant of pro genocide towards Jews, of the end the end of Israel, an Israel with no Jews.

While Israel does include 20 percent Arab citizens, Palestinian leaders have been very clear about their intentions for their state: NO JEWS.

So river to the sea, that's genocide.

It's impossible to separate the Israel demonization movement from racist hatred of Jews ... they are joined at the hip.

Which story is a lie? The OP? Whatever, it's quite a claim, and one that you back only with opinion.

The majority of Palestinians want an end to the occupation of their land and cessation of continued land theft. THAT is inarguable.

Leaving Gaza didn't bring peace because Israel didn't stop occupying it!!! By legal definition, it maintained it's occupation by it's blockade. Stop with the strawman silliness and the ingenuous deflection.

"River to the sea" I believe is a quote from the Likud charter, referring to the Jordan River ..... which is not quite as drastic as the original Zionist "river" being the Euphrates!!!

OF COURSE it's possible to separate racism from Israel criticism! What a hateful and odious accusation! You are implying that I, and many members here are racist. Quit with that nastiness, please. You have been warned before.

It not their land. It's Israel.

The problem for Israel is that most sane people, many world leaders such as Ban ki Moon, the Swedish and American ambassadors to Israel and the majority of the world's countries can now see through the great Israeli hoax: that they play the victim when they are in fact the aggressor.

The conflict is perpetuated by a hardcore of fanatical Zionists and nutjob US Evangelicals who believe that a popular work of fiction, the bible, is some sort of real estate title deed and refuse to join the 21st century. They are doing the future of Israel a great disservice.

    Excellent post.

It's remarkable how the plain truth can make propaganda look so devious.

  10. “Israeli army has to stop arresting Palestinians,” he posted on his Facebook wall, “but, it must execute them and leave no one alive.” Eliyahu declared that the Palestinians are the enemy of the Israeli occupation state and they “must be destroyed and crushed in order to end violence.” Chief Israeli Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu

I have participated in these discussions for 10 years and nobody has changed their mind about what side they are on. This Rabbi points out much of why I am on the side I am on. From the way it sounds, this is the Israel illustrious potentate and his way of thinking is criminal to say the least.

    -

From an Israel demonization propaganda site (which you conveniently failed to cite, sneaky tactic) accused of false translation and leaving out the word TERRORISTS as the people needing to be crushed. Apparently he didn't say ALL Palestinians as that twisted website implies with that EXCLUSION turning their text into a BIG LIE. Unless you can rebut those accusations, your disgusting FLAME post should not stand. That is the kind of garbage that fuels Israel demonization and it's associated Jew hatred and fuels more insane terrorists based on LIES. The same lies as the Palestinian leadership lying about a change of status at the Temple Mount which isn't happening. Of course that filth you posted got likes. Surprise surprise.

Yes, this rabbi is an extremist right wing rabbi. But that's not the same thing as advocating genocide. Also, dude, he is Chief Rabbi of one area, Safed, your text implies he is Chief Rabbi of all Israel. Also, dude, Israel isn't Iran, it is not ruled by crazy rabbis, it is a democracy.

If you can actually prove that this rabbi actually does favor genocide, I would agree with condemning him in strongest possible terms. But again, whatever he said, a far right wing rabbi is not the same thing as actual Israeli government policies and intentions.

Favoring executing actual Palestinian TERRORISTS is not even REMOTELY the same thing as advocating GENOCIDE.

You sound like you're about to go off the deep end.

What grade and size do you want?

I'm going to show my real ignorance here... I have no clue. I will be building a deck and my guy advises me 6x1x5m so 6 wide 5m long and 1 thick? as for grade I am clueless but Mai Daeng looks good, harder than teak and Googled it says perfect for decks. Any knowledge you would be willing to share is gratefully received.

I have recently been buying mai yahng daeng at Suksawat Lumber for a variety of projects.

It is absolutely top quality wood - straight grain with no knots at all, but quite expensive.

1X6X4m boards cost 500 baht each. After planing the rough-sawn lumber the dimensions are 3/4"X5 1/2".

Probably the best wood for flooring is used teak from an old house... if you can find it.

    Good luck with your projects.

Thanks 500 baht? I'll go check again I though it was more than that - mai YANG daeng? it's the same as the traditional 'mai daeng'?

    Same-same but different.

What I used to buy years ago as mai daeng was a medium to dark red. What is available now and called mai yahng daeng is much lighter in color but otherwise quite similar. It is excellent wood. What in the US would be considered furniture quality. Really too good to be used as decking. That's why I mentioned used teak - but regrettably somewhat hard to fine the good stuff nowadays. The area around Chiang Rai would no doubt have a better selection than Chiang Mai, although there are used lumber dealers around here. You might get lucky.

  13. The tolerant liberals are pulling out all stops. They are scared to death of a Trump win.

The whole world is scared to death of a Trump win.

Trump on one side with his finger on the nuclear button, and Putin on the other side.

    Horrifying

That's what they said about Goldwater vis-a-vis Khrushchev in 1964.

The possibility of a nut becoming president is nothing new.

  14. Big Carl, I am also in Chiang Mai and tend to agree with you that the immigration offices up here are maybe not persecuting us, but are making as many obstacles and hoop jumps for us as they can.

There is a definate sentiment in the area I live that they would be better off without White Foreigners. This has never been noticeable in my area before but it is now.

In some ways you cannot blame the average people as it is day after day there are news reports from all over Thailand of farangs ripping people off, scamming with bank cards etc. Who would blame them?

But as you mentioned with immigration up here, (that must be the worst in the country) they seem intent in making our lives as difficult as possible.

Firstly they split the immigration offices into Airport and Promenada, I have still been unable to find out which one transfers an extension to a new passport.

Then they removed the queue online service forcing people to have to go there at 4 and 5 AM to try and get an appointment.

I wrongly assumed that the move to promenada was to set up a new all encompassing immigration service, how wrong I was, it looks more like divide and conquer.

It also seems like the more negative press they get in the west the more they get the hump and make life more difficult for us and align themselves closer to China at every opportunity.

Perhaps they are looking at the bigger picture and can see no benefit to the country in encouraging large farang ghettos forming.

A lot of posters complain about the same situation in their home countries, why should Thailand be any different.

All the 'I contribute more to the economy than most Thais do' is irrelevant. Oil rich Arabs afford megabucks to Europe but who wants to be overrun by them...(ooops).

You cannot always buy yourself into acceptance no matter how hard you try to convince yourself.

Whether you admit it or not, a large farang population in a relatively small area does corrupt (get a dictionary) the local culture.

Many posters complain how the Thais cannot lose face - perhaps they are affording the farangs the same grace- no loss off face by being told to f.$$k off....just drop a few subtle hints and gently increase the pressure. Not a "crackdown" as such, just slowly slowly.

The posters who live away from the larger centres of farang concentration generally report no issues for them.

    Spot on.

It's the same all over the world.
