Another lurid, cautionary tale from Thailand .
Do we need to be reminded yet again that the world's oldest profession is also one of the most dangerous?

My wife's cousin and his wife drove in from Udorn Thani where they live yesterday without any problems.
So unless there are any very recent rule changes I don't think there is anything to worry about.

Cherchez la femme.
No lady involved?
Looks like he was set up pretty well.
A lone nutcase?
No romance scams involved?

Prominent Chiang Mai expat Nancy Lindley was affiliated with it for many years.
If anyone knows its current status she probably does.

Control is ubiquitous, but sending the message that the government controls us is even more important, It's crucial that foreigners understand who owns the country and at whose whim new regulations can be enacted. I did a 90-day report last week, and the muppet in uniform could not deduct 14 from 21 without a calculator on the third try.
Nice to know that the people we are forced to report to are themselves so well educated, but it seems important that the professionalism of the government service can be relied up at all rimes.
Not.
People with nasty hostile attitudes often trigger bureaucrats.
I've seen it happen so frequently that I do my best to appear amiable no matter how I really feel.

Nakornping Hospital, Mae Rim has a cannabis clinic.
Inside the hospital grounds ask directions to the "ganja clinic" or they might not know what you are talking about.

Big Joke has been through the mill at the RTP for whatever reasons.
Those of us in Chiang Mai remember when he took over the Immigration Office a while back and services improved immediately.
Courtesy and efficiency reached new heights.
When he left it didn't take long for things to revert to the way they were before.
Come back to CM... you're always welcome here.

From your description it sounds like more than just a taxi driver is needed.
A caregiver who will also make arrangements for transportation would be a good idea.

They are not the victims, they are the criminals. They knew full well that lending the money to those who did not have it is against the law, but wanted to make money themselves.
This is just as much their scam as any Thai person.
That's obvious...
But why let the facts get in the way of a little gratuitous Thai-bashing?
Similar reactions are almost spontaneous among these pitiful misfits.

I guess the whole point of focusing on MbS is to allow relations to continue unhindered (much). Goes hand in hand with the announcement about relationship being henceforth conducted on a peer to peer basis, meaning the king.
Nothing really new in that announcement.
Under Trump the relationship was also peer to peer... prince to prince, Jared and MbS.

Wonder what reactions would be if she were posing like this with a life size crucifix ? or one of the Holy Books ?The crucifix and Christian symbols have been done to death... <deleted> Christ, Dung Madonna, etc., etc.
The real challenge would be Islamic and Hebrew symbols.
Who's first?

"Search and ye shall find".
It's easy now.
Soon it will be like the good old, bad old days when you could buy it almost as easily as you could buy beer.
So true.
The days of seeking out dodgy doctors in back sois are coming to an end along with the endless lunacy of the War on Drugs.
Little by little - poco a poco - by la nit by la noi... TIT

Keep going Anutin, you've been promoting this for the past several years with some real progress being made already.
Don't let the special interests dominate what could be a very good thing for small farmers.

It might say something good about Democracy that it took so long to come about.
Mencken's low opinion of it isn't borne out by my experience of childhood in the '50s, and coming of age in the '60s and '70s.
For being rewarded for hard work, intelligence, and skill, the USA was #1 in those days.
After that it started to go downhill fast and I voted with my feet.

Good one!
Hunter is just one of a cast of sleazy characters waiting in the wings to do their star turns.
Never before in American history has the old chestnut, "Be careful what you wish for" been more relevant.
Trump - as bad as he is - looks good compared to the left-wing loons eager to take power.
Après moi, le dèluge.
