  1. The two python species in Thailand, the Reticulated python and Burmese python are both not endangered. I highly doubt there protected as I've seen Thai's kill them first, ask questions later. These two snake species are prevalent in snake collections around the world and more than readily captive bred.

As far as the cobras, they might be the protected or endangered species they are referring to. Thailand, especially the north east and south, have some incredibly beautiful and rare cobras. It's stupid how Asians just consume or kill everything, without regard to conservation for future consumption or preservation, whichever is more important.

  2. Govt 'fully prepared' as world court opens Preah Vihear case

Chiang Mai -- Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will stay in Chiang Mai to closely monitor testimonies being presented before the International Court of Justice in Europe over the Thai-Cambodian border dispute. She has also urged Thais to follow the court session with calm.

Yingluck said Sunday she would monitor the testimony from 3 pm today when the Cambodian representatives will deliver their oral argument before the ICJ. The Thai side is due to deliver its argument to the court on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters in Chiang Mai's Doi Saket district, Yingluck said the government was fully prepared to defend the Thai territory near the Preah Vihear Temple.

Pretty sure they won't be prepared in two years as well. Since when do Thais care about anything outside Thailand?

Since when do Thais think beyond the next meal?
There are a lot Thais that think and plan well and far ahead. Just these you don't find in the bar or on the street, because they are busy working. Many have Chinese influence, but not all. As technical company I am in contact with a lot very smart very well planing Thais.(but of course also with a fair share of idiots)

Yeah, I guess you missed the sarcasm. The majority of working Thais don't plan past lunch IMO, and are only good at doing it when their boss tells them to do it so he doesn't have to! Remember the 8 point electrical plan to avert outages?
