This "academic" sounded like a retard. Not surprising for Thailand. My parrot says more intelligent things than this guy
Does your parrot post on Thaivisa or did it shout 'idiots' and shit on the keyboard?
It shouts idiot at people who ask stupid questions. I think it yelled when I read your post to it. My parrot is probably smarter than lots of people here.

Never heard of it, don't see what's so special either. Now check out the SNL Rosetta Stone clip (from the Adam Levine episode). That's funny and got the Thai gov't all riled up!!!!

Thailand an America use worked jointly on military operations for years together, since the beginning of the Cold War America has been shoveling money here. Thailand has always done special things for America. This is not surprising in the least.
Since when are Thai people honest in their wheeling a and dealings??? Never as far as I can see

Dot worry guys, I'm sure the genius Thai inventors and chemists will come up with a better, safer, and legal pill to be sold without competition!! (Full sarcasm intended)

Most things are fake here. Fake smiles, fake boobs, fake butts, fake medicine, fake DVD's. Who's surprised?

They should put warning labels on taxis, tuk tuks, and their women too!!!!

That is the most myopic pov I've ever read. No wonder Thailand is rewarding it. IMO, if rich countries citizens bear the cost to support poor people in a different country, then they should get first pic, and the people who pay less get in the back of line according to this logic.

The Russian business owners should organize their own strike…protest the Thais and note their cheating ways.
Would be hilarious!

Better to give to the homeless than the proffessional, organized beggars who expect it...oops!!! I mean monks

10b for Skytrain. Good idea that.
10 baht for the extension, down from 15 baht.
Sent from my HTC phone.
Why on earth can't they just have one pricing system for the whole network like in all other major cities around the globe?
And while they're at it, please include the underground and the Airport Link City Line as well.
The whole local train system in Bangkok is developing into such a mess, it's unbelievable.
Couldn't agree more. It's such a joke, they should be ashamed of themselves at how pathetic it looks to visitors. Two prices to ride the same train, with such terrible quality trainsI had two trains break down on me on the Sukhumvit line this week, and the air con's are dripping water half the time!

They'll just ignore whatever the ICJ says anyway. I mean, what do foreigners know about what's good for Thailand???

In a city where I've never seen road maintenance. I walk Suk. every day to the gym, and I think if they didn't make the dam_n sidewalks so big for all of the vendors crowding them, they would have room to add another lane and help congestion.
But heaven forbid maintaining something, or taking pride in community property, where's the ability to scam that?
I've said for years they should be ashamed and embarrassed of the road conditions here.

I'll bet all of his pimping and expertise in massage parlors and bull terriers make him a real expert on tensions in the south.
Thailand should be embarrassed, being represented by a pimp (although kind of fitting).
Bringing his pimp game to a new level!
Who are you talking about?
(Chalerm is not Chuwit, Chuwit is the massage guy, Chalerm is the guy who helped his son escape a jail term after he killed a cop).
That's who I was talking about, my mistake. But none of them are worth remembering in my opinion, so easy to confuse one crook for another.

A buddy of mine had the same story in the same area around 12AM. He's an amateur weight lifter, do when the taxi started going weird routes and trying to raise the price by going the long way, my buddy simply got our and walked away at Asoke. The driver chased him down the road and pulled out a sword. Different ways to deal with different people.

It's not mysterious or hard to understand...he just wants his hand in the honey pot and nothing else.

I call for n impartial group with no conflict of interest to examine this. Oh wait!! The gov't is full of biased people led by the one person with the most conflict of interest!!!
Good luck Thailand!!! Lor knows you need it!

One of the mat uninformative articles I've ever read here. Citing old news, some numbers, and no explanations of the "the new breed".

I can completely understand this. I've seen tutors, families, people just sitting around doing nothing. I've seen it in Starbucks too. I go to work and see a group of students with one cup of coffee or one small french fries, come out on break see the same group with one empty cup or one empty french fries bag.
Any other business would kick out non paying customers, McD's is no different and should be able to do the same. It is definitely an instance of Thai people taking a mile when given an inch.
I think they will handle it well, ever tried to stay in a buffet for longer than an hour (Oishi, Shabushi)........they're quick to get the next paying customer in, and not polite about it!

As tech savvy as a 13 year old.........and about as dependable as well!

Pity they don't treat all people who drive recklessly the same.....thinking of the rich BKK teen who killed 9 with no license and got a slap on the wrist........
