  1. Remember the ex transport minister that got billions of baht stolen from his house when he was at his daughters wedding? He will be let off with this amnesty deal. They all will. It is several shades of wrong to even consider this nonsense amnesty bill. All for what? So a tin pot dictator can return with his face intact. Shame on the reds and PTP for this farce.

    The Nation, Dec, 21st 2011:

"Part of the banknotes seized after last month's robbery at the suspended Transport permanent secretary's home were found to be linked to certain private companies that won bidding for Transport Ministry projects, according to the national anti-graft agency."

    Just goes to show.

That was only 5 months of taking office and one minister already managed to channel billions out of the coffers and into his own pocket.

This guy would be doing life in prison in almost all countries and a lot of those countries would have executed him in a heartbeat.

Sorry to compare this with the UK, I know they are completely different countries. But even if a fraction of this level of corruption happened there, I could guarantee a revolution from the people. The majority of the people here just accept it.

I wonder how many billion baht is stolen each year by the government as a whole, and what that could do for the poor people. Instead, Thailand has its hand out to the UN's World Food Program because they reckon they can't feed their children here.

    Shameless beggars.

  2. Such killings go unpunished in a murky and often highly localised conflict, making it impossible to verify who pulled the trigger.

They have been able to match bullets with guns in England since 1835, and has been used in court to get a conviction as early as 1902

    It's called ballistic fingerprinting.

One day Thailand will catch up to the rest of the world, unless of course it in 'inconvenient' for them to use this technology.

  3. They don't do U-turns so much as they just turn their back on something and never mention it again and hope it goes away. Then come out with something equally bizarre to take the spotlight.

Or they deny having anything to do with it... Look at the poster campaign forcing provinces to put up pro amnesty bill notices. It gets pulled and Yingers denies having anything to do with it... So please name the culprit then. It's your party that you are supposed to be head of.... don't you know who it was???

    Thought not.

  4. This creepy person is living the high life with the money of hard working Thai tax payers thumbsup.gif .

Hard working Thai taxpayers??? You won't be slagging the bloke off when he gets back though will you.

Won't stop me from slagging him off, I doubt it will stop any farang from speaking their mind about him.

We still slag off the PTP and Yingers all the time, so are you saying that Thaks will have us all rounded up and shot?

Did you also kiss Hitlers arse?

  5. I hope they got everyone out of the water ok. I also hope when they said they will resume the search at full light, it doesn't mean that it got too dark to continue. Judging by the video, there were lots in the water still and the sun looked about 15 minutes from setting, and there is no moon at the moment. So would be pitch black out there after sundown.

Unless of course they meant search for bodies in the wreck. But then again, divers can use torches.
