  1. Just a little hint how "helpful" the Swedish enbassy are!

Late 2007 I was hit by a drunk driver in Patts, my hip was all shattered and I ended up at Banglamung hospital, there my bankcards was stolen when I was sedated.

In the end I had to stay there for almost 3 month before I was considered good enogh to fly home.

In that time I had not one visit from embassy or consulate.

My bed neighbours was from Israel and England, their representatives came to visit more than once a week!

When I was well enogh to travel, they was kind enogh to offer a transport to the airport, costing 8k!

I was able to get transport by a private ambulance, sponsored by a motocycle gang, and it cost me a fast food dinner for me and the two drivers.

Apparently, after that time at hospital I was overtay and emassy people (a nagughty thai lady) was escorting me across the Passport check, then they left.

A couple of month after i got a crave for 15k baht for the "help" with bank transfers and "standby" at the airport!

THaT is how "helpful" Swedish embassy are this days!

Yes, I am not very impressed wit them either. They charge 6700 THB for applying for a new passport, 3 times what you pay for it in Sweden!

  2. After PWA changed the leaking water pipes (Blue PVC pipes) we had brown water for a week, now after one month we get clearer water but with big black flakes mixed with it, clogged the washing machine filter after some days. Non of the locals are drinking this water and to go out and say that its safe is just crazy! Do they want to reduce the population of the country or what is this about?

  3. Thus incentivizing beer & booze?  'Gonna have to pay an excise tax anyway, why limit yourself to soft drinks...    The tax virus has certainly hit Thailand.  All downhill now.  'Best days behind it.

Too much television's bad for you isn't it?  I think TVs should have little deposit boxes built into them, so you have to drop a baht or two (or ten) in the slot every 15 or 30 mins to be able to keep watching.  You could call it an excise tax on entertainment.  'And a new employment gig for somebody to come around every month and collect.  Maybe do the same with internet modems & cable boxes!   Woohoo!!

Think you are right , all downhill from now, sad but true.

Shortly after Sweden was recognized as having the worst record in the European Union for employing foreign non-EU citizens, the country’s Integration Minister Erik Ullenhag announced plans to investigate the process of eliminating the word from all of its legislation.

    Well, Sweden:

    1. someone will have to have the "worst" record on a list of countries, no way around it

    2. will the EU sanction you for employing the least amount of non-EU citizens?

    3. how do you fight racism, when you can't even define the concept in a law?

you once were Vikings, now you are Weaklings

The companies in Sweden are not interested in employing the new immigrants (most of them are from Muslim countries) because they don't want to learn Swedish, they don't speak any English and they require special Muslim food and many got no education at all. Sweden accepted more immigrants then any other European country per capita, many of them get a Swedish passport after only 3 year in the country.

"vice president of the Associa-tion of Siamese Architects, said yesterday that most intersections and footpaths were not in a good condition."

Would say that you can say that for most of this country, have not seen many nice footpaths in Thailand during the last 30 years and been to almost every province.

Cheap foundations--how many times have you seen workers laying those design bricks on sand.   1 month they sink and undulate and come up, and to cap it al the nuts  dig a hole dead in the middle of the path and plant a line of trees, dodging these in a stooped walk.

Cheapjack mafia contracts, useless foreman, lazy workers.

And just imagine if you are in a wheelchair, you would think that Buddhists were more caring for handicapped and disabled people, how many handicapped friendly footpaths have you seen in Thailand? myself I have not seen any, most are 25-30 cm over the road level and often electric poles in the middle of the foorpath makes it impossible to pass in a wheelchair without going down on the road itself..

As long as major manufactures look for cheap labour,  infrastructure and opportunities they will always be around, it's when Thailand become the use by date that thing's will change , when a new kid on the block arrives it will be goodbye Thai , In the meantime enjoy .coffee1.gif

IF Thailand is low cost labor, why does it still have slavery ?

    Cost cutting?
