  1. I've heard tourists winning the lottos "in" Thailand but never a foreigner buying Thai lottery in another country.  Here's the story, I've been arguing with my buddies, someone in Laos bought 2 Thai lottery tickets and won 12 million baht today and posted on Facebook!!! Why?! Ouch!  I know Thai lottery in Laos are illegally sold in Laos unless I'm wrong.  Anyway I pray that person gets his/her prize.

Check out how deep you need to go in your area to avoid iron deposits in the water, rust will shorten pump and sprinkler head life by 80%.

this is very important info!  Thank you.  So deeper is not always better right?  I was told to drill during dry season so the driller will have to drill deeper to get to the water and maintain water through out the seasons?  My Aussie friend and her Thai husband  drilled 32meters down right next to the foot of a small mountain, about 20m away.    Her water started coming out reddish brownish and when it rained it came out light muddy.

I was also told by a villager to stop drilling when water is found, check again, and drill extra 2 meters down then stop completely.  Is this true?  Does water table dry out during dry season?

Congratulations...  I’ve alerted the media !!!

Do you know why ?  because you always have done and have copied a trait of culture ?

Watches worn on a left hand because there is less chance of banging or damaging the watch when doing most activities with the right hand.

you're wrong.  the knobs are on the right.  get it?

Curious...  why would anyone want a ‘left handed motorcycle’.... assuming the op wants the throttle switched to the left hand-side.

if someone’s ‘right hand’ cannot control s throttle, should they be riding at all?

seriously, I'm not joking.  You're probably the only person that's taking me seriously or maybe not.  imagine left hand throttle.

If you're neither an engineer nor architect, just a coffee drinker, on what basis are you making your decisions in respect of the proposed structural integrity of a building?

it's all about thinking and opinion ahead.  talking and talking.  all I can do is talk.

  6. I'm planning to build a house with some local and visiting friends.  I have a neighbor who does house building (that's what he's said). We're not engineers nor architects.  We're just coffee drinkers.  We're just planing out and talking.  Cut to the chase.  Simple 2 story house and maybe a small living attic with a dormer.  Usually houses here are in equal grid but this is not quite the case.  See pic.  He recommends the following.

-2 story house, modern shed roof to save on cost. all blocks no bricks.

    -ceiling height 1st floor 3.5m.  2nd floor 3.2m

-1.5m deep hole footing. footing size 1.5cm wide and 50cm depth. (can this be 80cm wide and 50cm deep footing?)

-25cmx25cm column size with six 16mm rebars, 8mm ties.  (I think it's too much, I was hoping for 4 rebars)

-25cm width x 40cm depth of beam with three 14mm rebars on the bottom and three 12mm rebars on top, 8mm ties.  (that's new to me, it's always been all same size rebars)

-25cm width x 30cm depth of beam for very top where roof frame is. ( would 25cm x 25cm work?  because it needs to be lighter load)

-floor slab is pre-made but will be putting on wire mesh and pour concrete on top to get 8cm thickness. (can I just lay tiles

on without putting on the wire mesh?)

what do you think? thanks in advance.

If the lengths between your resits are accurate then the shape is definitely wrong.  This makes it impossible to give anything like a good estimate of what the area may be.  (The extra area from the mound not being flat probably makes little proportional difference to this estimate.)

the drawing lengths are drawn to make things easier to calculate. my question is is it even possible to calculate manually even if the lengths are not square or rectangle shape?  can I add all those lengths up and make them into 4 sides and multiple side A by side B?

  8. ok, I'm so sorry for this long tread.  I should just had explain better.  Sorry for my bad English.  Anyway what I'm trying to achieve is total area of land with a big mound.  how would I achieve this?

I made a basic map for ease of calculation.  It's possible to find out sqm (area) even if a land is not a square shape?  I want to hire people to clear out the woods to make a farm.  The people want me to measure as accurate as possible the total land and including the mound.

  9. thankyou everyone.  even after reading the replies..my brain really hurts and still confused.  I'm not a math person every time I study math I shake and sweat. don't worry I still got some more math question coming this afternoon.

update: here's my pic. please help on finding sq meter of the dome

    dome calcu.jpg

  10. please help if a dome roof is on a flat surface.  if the distance around the base of a dome (circumference) is 100 meters and the height to the center top is 58 meters what is the area in square meter?  thankyou in advance. :)

  11. thankyou!  so basically it's not that much.  They want 9,000 baht.  the guy that went with me had no clue.  even villagers don't know.  the ones that know are the owner or the shop employees. the thing is if I ask around almost of them will want commission.  so is this normal for them to sell in "cube" 1x1x1

  12. Hello what is the word for lumber in large quantity size in Thai and how much?  They like to say "q" to describe the quantity.  I would like to know

what do they mean by that.  Is't cubic size?  like 1meter x 1 meter pile of woods?  How long of a 2x10cm of "1 q" of  wood would this be?

  13. ok, take that back.  I was going to reply back few months ago but my computer broke.  PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW THIS VIDEO!  You will damage the device in particle and will cause you more than 2,000 baht!  The youtuber doesn't know what's he's doing.  How I fixed it was realign the "click" hook and making sure it doesn't over turn or under turn (very hard to describe).

I followed the video and it's working!  But I also noticed the part was beatup and old and for sure the repairman from last yr must had switched out that part like in the video with an old one because it was so rusty I had to replaced the part brand new.  You saved me from buying another washer!  And lesson learn always check the repairman's work.
