  1. I feel for you sir, I think it is ridiculous that weed is illegal, and I am against any other drug except mushrooms. Safe and healthy, mother nature's gift if you ask me. I wish you get the most lenient sentencing possible, and I would be terrified in your shoes.

Please consult a lawyer; and I think it is excellent advise to try to get a doctors script. In fact, you might even want to be upfront with them, and you might find a very sympathetic doctor who is willing to even stand up for you if you are lucky, or thrown out the door to the next one.

I think you should have tried to pay 10,000 baht when caught, and been happy to depart with 20,000 for avoiding being in the legal system. Now that you are there, stay cool. This would terrify me beyond words, but I would be planning the best way to go about fixing this with minimal damage, and the lawyer and doctor will help, even if it is just a script.

Look clean, don't try to run or anything that is poor risk/reward. The lawyer will let you know what you are facing, and if I had to guess I would say you face a not-too-expensive fine and possibly deportation, and worst case up to a month in IDC jail while that is processing. Just a guess on the last part -- but prepare for it and do whatever you can to stay sane and prepared for the trial, and follow a lawyers advice.

If your child is attending school and had a extension of stay for studying from immigration you could get an extension for being their parent. You would need to show 500k baht in a Thai bank for 30 days to get the first extension.

It seems though they do not have any passport now which would rule out that option.

I assume they have a birth certificate issued by an Amphoe to prove they were born here. That will be needed when they leave the country the first time,

thank you, I do not have the necessary 500k baht for that option and correct she does not yet have any passport.

  3. I have a kid here with a non-Thai citizen, and I am trying to get our baby citizenship for my country but it is taking some time. I have been here for a few years, I did several tourist visa + extensions, an EDU visa, two tourist visas, then another EDU visa. I just did a visa-exception and extension, but I need at least another few months to arrange for passport for my child. Is there any chance I can remain with my family? I am not old enough for retirement, and cannot afford an elite visa.

Peoples like to ignore the fact that these readings are taken from areas that are bad, thats why they put them there, to see just how bad!, usually in areas where traffic is bad. I am outside UT, reading today is 37 outside the city, in the city it is 120, which one is correct? you have to use the information available in a responsible manner! There's enough "Drama" in life as it is!

That was the worst reading in the city , but there are many spots over 160 and the lowest is 111. Traffic has nothing to do with it. The mountains are also totally invisible behind the blanket of grey death today ????

We use air purifiers at home, wear a mask when outside and just deal with it.  Like people in cities all over Asia.  At least it's relatively seasonal here and rarely reaches "hazardous" levels.

anything over 10 AQI is unsafe, even by thai standards (very lax) it has been hitting hazardous up north recently... 240 AQI yesterday

  6. I know there are lots of various masks that are advertised as filtering the dangerously bad air we all breathe up North; but what is actually the best type? 3m n95?

Where is a shop that will guarantee selling authentic units (imagine wearing an uncomfortable cheaper mask, thinking you are protected, while being exposed almost entirely?), for a good price?

I do not think I have ever seen people walking around with the double-cartridge hepa filter masks, but it seems like that or a full on nuclear-disaster style gas mask will be appropriate if the current conditions continue until March!
