yet another tragic story because of retarded parents.
They made dog a guard dog and left 9 day old unattended with easy access for the dog.
honestly some people i am certain have less brain than a chicken and should not be allowed to breed, or better yet should be locked up so they do not cause any harm to others

The bars are closed, just did a round and all is shut, though some bars have girls sitting outside

a really tough one and i think has also been discussed many many times on many different forums.
a natural reaction from a real man is to intervene and stop the guy from bashing on a woman.
the problem in Thailand is many times it can turn against you and not only with the guy and girl involved but also the on lookers, as well as police.
for some reason even police does not take domestic violence too serious here, unless its a high-so case.
i have intervened twice in my 10 or so years here, one time girl was very thankful, so thankful that she insisted on staying with me.
second time, both the guy and girl turned on me, making it rather hard to defend myself, which in turn made me the "basher"
i was lucky (2nd time) the on lookers, saw the incident and advised the police that i was trying to help, otherwise i could have been arrested,
i think best is to keep out, but if looking really bad, call the police
happens everywhere, not a Thailand problem.
what happens everywhere? domestic violence? yes it does, but people around the world do not usually stand around watching while the man uses the woman as a punching bag

They may not have stolen it but are in possession Of stolen goods.
Day or so in the cage and they will be confessing just everybody else does.
Thai police does have excellent track record in getting confessions

i could not care less who is managing or own the place as long as i enjoy my time there with whatever i am doing.
one thing that does piss me off though and i usually do not return is when prices change daily for the very same drink and when mamasan's start to push girls onto me or staff start to show me the girls, as if i do not have a pair of eyes and cannot see they have girls

If YOUR girlfriend says it must be so.
You are a very uninspiring individual with strange views on things misrepresenting the facts because you fail to understand them. Sad indeed.
Is that so because your girlfriend said so?

Are not you just a hero? You will go to shop and drink in open view
Why not? The Thais are out there doing it right now! Why not join them?
So if Thais go jumping off the cliff you will also follow?
Have you considered AA meetings? Since not drinking for 2 days is just such a hassle

ALL Buddhists would not drink alcohol (precept #5)
I thought it was precept #4 according to my girlfriend.
If YOUR girlfriend says it must be so.

2. Alcohol in restaurants with meals are not prohibited
Yes, it is. Hotels are the only exemption.
Really? Wanna bet? Oh wait that's illegal. So have your meal at a hotel restaurant .

^^ Indeed, you aren't a doctor. My actual doctor said it was just fine for me to celebrate over the weekend. My girlfriend and I will be going to Hua Hin tomorrow. Don't worry yourself. I think I will go open a beer because I can. Or, I will go to the shop around the corner and sit in plain view drinking a beer in front of it. What's it to you?

I'm off to the shops to stock up then......
Are you worried to be dry for 2 days ? Lol
Does it worry you that others may like to have a glass of wine with dinner at the end of the working week?
Keep your panties on.
1. It certainly will not kill you NOT to have a glass of wine for 2 days, but if it bothers you all that much it might be time to seek help for alcoholism.
2. Alcohol in restaurants with meals are not prohibited

Yes, actually I am. What does it matter to you? After 4 months with a broken leg and just being given clearance to walk without assistance and 5 days off from work, I'd like to enjoy my time off. This is a cause for celebration. Let's add to that ... My girlfriend has just gotten her visa approval to visit the US in October to meet my family. Also, one of my best friends is moving to Bangkok. Yeah, it does kind of bother me, as I am not Buddhist.
Not a doctor but perhaps after not being able to walk for 4 months, drinking and walking may not be the smartest plan

It's all great but why camera's installed so low off the ground and why no security box/cage over it?
Not only its easy to steal/remove , but also easy to move up/down either looking into sky or the ground

Hi phlIn the mean time Thailand has been busy introducing "draconian" laws against tourists.
Seems neighbors putting their heads together to attract foreigners while Thailand goes in the opposite direction .
Being a business owner in thailand hate to even think of what's to come
Hi phl
What are some of these "draconian" laws against tourists?
Property laws, visa rules etc
Thailands property laws have zero impact on tourists -- no?
The tourist visa requirements of Thailand are very liberal compared to almost any country in the world.
Yes and no. the positive policy's towards tourists always spreads down the line to other aspects.
Just like when they changed the visa runs, they changed other requirements, like ripple effect.
It is about the general attitude in my opinion

Pattaya already has a batman and batman house, which is located in soi Batman
They need to turn on the searchlight, though. Battie's been evicted years ago, it was a drug bust, or so I seem to remember..
nah, it was a fire and was left as is. i live right next door
PS. i am not a batman
The rumor I heard is it was closed for quite some time, possibly after a drug bust, when it was allegedly torched (insurance job). I'm curious as to why it is still standing around like that. Surely there's some opportunity for an entrepreneur there.
The location NOW is the problem. Some developments were done in the area so it is fully residential area now, perhaps thats the reason.
I live literally next door to it and never seen anyone even go inside, even homeless guys sleep outside instead of going inside. Really strange.
To make it even more strange, soi dogs, including my dogs never try to run inside either.
The place must be cursed or something

That post appears to be fact and not logic, just how you manage to conclude that it implies all Issan women should be hookers escapes me, but let's not dwell on that aspect!
It does seem that the mother/daughter part is frequently true, I think though that's a feature of how difficult it really is for some poor rural families to haul themselves out of poverty. I think it's also a feature of how strong the family bond is in those families, the need to provide for the extended family seems to be passed down from one generation to the next and unless education levels are improved, the solution is always going to be the same one.
Finally, I only have little knowledge of Cambodian culture so I can't sensibly comment, but it would seem very odd if Thai females were found to be promisucous and morally corrupt whereas their Cambodian neighbours were found to be virtuous and saintlike!
I like your post, though do believe you are being little naive.
Following logic, if mother is hooking to put her daughter through school, daughter would not be a prostitute.
However mother is hooking because she is hooking full stop. They hardly ever send much money home and their kids hardly ever even finish school.
All the money earned seems to go into thin air or spent on latest phones, clothing, nails and toys.
If you take into account how much money some earn, they should be out of poverty and into a middle class within 1-3 years.
Why does the mother "retire" the moment daughter turns 15-16? why does not mother buy some shop or do something instead of moving back to village and sending daughter in as a substitute?
Why with all that money sent home, they are still poor?
SO many get lucky and find an idiot to buy/build them a house and a car, and yet she keeps hooking and keeps sending her daughter to hook?
I do not think one needs to have huge knowledge of Cambo culture, one just needs to see that prostitution is NOT as widely spread over there, because if it was Thailand would not be the capital

Glad the pattaya bashing brigade will not be saying that he was hiding out in pattaya

When are shop owners going to check the name and signature on credit/debit cards???
How can a Thai person even use and sign the transaction slip on a foreign owned card boggles the mind...
Sent from my GT-I9001 using Thaivisa Connect App
I do not think most people in Thailand are familiar with "chargebacks" so for shop owners, it does not make any difference as they believe they made money.
Also a huge number of shop staff do not read english so they have no idea whose name is on the card, coupled with the fact that they could not care less.
Few years ago, i gave my card to GF and sent her shopping, she had no problems making all the purchases and the card was Mr, while she was Miss.
Yet one time Tops gave me really hard time because the signature did not match, even though at the time i had shoulder surgery(right hand) so had to use left hand to sign.

Black Labrador Bites Newborn Baby To Death In Bangkok

are you trolling or really are serious?
dog is a dog and acts on instinct, whats peoples excuse?
if you have a 9 day old baby, for starters you do not leave it in another room while you go cook or do whatever else.
secondly if you have a guard dog you do not leave doors open to the house where you left your baby sleeping on the sofa.
man i hope you do not have dog and a new born
