Heart attacks, or other plus a false positive. There is a difference between dying 'of covid' and dying 'with covid'.
Yup! Dead bodies on the street are normal occurrences I reckon.

Same in Phuket. Actually the registration link never worked until the page actually disappeared. I tried every 10 minutes starting at 9am. Around 10:30 the link sent you to an error page then later the page was removed.

Yes, i think at present everyone has a date, but no time for their second jab. The lady speaking on the microphone said people would receive an sms with the appointment time, but that never happened ( at least for me) for the first appointment, so i think the time should be available via Phuketwin website.
If you go look at the website the date and time are shown.

Yes, I know. That's why I brought the requested photocopies.
I tried to give them over, but was told that they didn't want them.
This was at the Karon Orchid.
In Karon. I brought copies of passport and consent form. They kept all of it. Just returned with the the next appointment piece of paper. Maybe checking off-site.
By the way I will be checking the next appointment date on their website to ensure that it does not change. Currently showing a 12-week period. They were talking about reducing the time between shots to 10 weeks.

Received my first jab (AZ) today in Karon. Had an appointment for 10am and got there 15 minutes earlier. It was packed. Hundreds of people, mostly Burmese.
My feeling is that people do not follow the appoint schedule. Took 3 hours to navigate through the crowd.
Either they gave everyone the same appointment time or are disregarding whether one is there at proper date and time.
Otherwise it was well organized.
In the end I was given a appointment for the second jab 12 weeks away which I think is beyond the recommended 10 week limit.

I hear Bangkok is getting worse and people are often not using masks now, friend said they've given up, so if that's the case it's likely to get worse before it gets better so getting a vaccine ASAP might be sensible
My thoughts also. Being in Phuket with opening soon I started to get concerned. There is no telling if and when a mRNA vaccine will be available. I asked Bangkok Hospital a few days ago and they have no idea.
My Gf is from Issan and needed a lot of paper work to show that she lives in Phuket. Yesterday she managed to get registered for the AZ shot. And doing so they told her for me to come. I did and got an appointment for this coming Friday.
If AZ is not effective against the delta variant, then I'm confident that they will explore alternatives. And if so, us expats and retirees will end up at the bottom for a booster; after everyone else. So mRNA will be hard to get.

I may be wrong and it may not solve your problem but PCR test requirements is 72 hours before departure; not arrival.

In reality it is not going to make much difference whether they "officially open" on July 1st or not. There will be very few tourists plus a handful of returning expats, which is not going to make much difference to the Phuket tourist economy anyway.
Yes and very few Chinese. Don't know if I can post this URL but:

Even more telling is when you compare new daily cases per capita (per million of population) since it puts all of those countries on an even footing for comparison, and only includes new cases which gives a better idea of how fast cases are increasing or decreasing.
WHen you look at this graph, there's no question that for an unvaccinated person, Thailand is the place to be if you are not yet vaccinated ???? (click on map for better resolution)
What's more, historically, Thailand has managed this pandemic FAR better than any of these other countries.
Yes but looking at the graph Thailand is increasing while others are declining.

Exactly. one says zero, other says 2 ?
You probably know this: The top northern two districts of the Phuket map (from the zero cases post) show ALQ & LQ. What does it stand for?

This is not what the NNT- National News Bureau of Thailand (NBT World) reported on their facebook page 3 hours earlier in the day. Who's correct?

One or all of the above. Why would it take so long to approve mRNA-based vaccines when most countries have already approved them and have been proven to provide the best possible protection?

Bumrungrad sent me a COVID 19 Vaccine requirement survey email back in February asking something like, "If the hospital acquires any COVID vaccines, would you be interested in getting said vaccine or going on a waiting list?"
So they must be thinking about doing vaccinations.
Same here. Survey asked vaccine type preference and various personal health questions. But this hospital is in BKK. I'm in Phuket.

How are Thais supposed to improve your their skills if knowledgeable foreigners cannot own a business and show how to perform a particular task?
Right now foreigners cannot be majority owners in businesses and cannot perform specific tasks.

Agree 100%. I was only referring to chasing dogs. Biut if it bites, it should be put down.

I am chased by dogs most of the time when I take a walk in Chalong. Bitten once (small nick) many years ago. I still had to go to the hospital.
Now I walk with a stick. The dogs seem to know what the stick is all about and stay away only barking.
Dogs should not be loose. And they should be registered with a tag on a collar. Any dog loose without a tag should be picked up. And owners that have their tagged dog loose should be fined.

Topic has been up for just 4hrs and there's 5 pages of largely 'money grabbing' Thai bashing comments already.
This is just market forces, you have to pay to jump the queue. So whoopee sign me up Bht4000 for two jabs is fine with me, I don't want to wait until next year.
Yes and the offered options are suitable for those over 65.

It is not 5 a shot. That price is valid when you buy millions of it, buy less pay more.
Right. Plus there's logistics, storage, giving the jab, consumables, follow up and certificates.

I don't quite understand. What vaccine will be available for those over 65 since the Thai approved don't seem to be recommended?

I have some pretty old ones and nearly all from the 50's to 2007 with bookcases except 8 years from 1973.
PM me if interested and I can send you details.

Curious to know if other chang classic drinkers like my self have noticed a strange after taste in chang beer in the last month .
Yes, bottles. I call it skunked. You can actually smell it. Not sure if it's old or has been exposed to light too long. The green bottle does not help (same for Heineken). Bars that sell a lot of it and buy closed cases of 24 don't seem to have that problem.

Are bike tyres different? I refer to the direction of the chevron type pattern in the tread.
On cars, and as far as can remember all 4 wheel vehicles, have tyres with the point of the chevron facing in the direction of wheel rotation.
In the pictures I notice that the bikes fitted with chevron treads they have the point of the chevron pointing away from the wheel rotation.
Opposite to the way car tyres are normally fitted.
Are bike tyres different or is it just a Thai thing
On my bike both tires are installed same as car such that if you ride on water it exits on the outside. There is even an arrow on the sidewall showing the direction of rotation.
