My car license expires in two weeks. Am I supposed to go there and be turned back.
I don't quite understand the process.

Your crazy!! I rather have covit 19 in Thailand then 1,000 people each year killed on the road for reckless driving.
Maybe you forgot the last lockdown. Could not go very far. Roads deserted.

What an idiot, bit strange the pharmacist does not want to report the problem or at least doest not make an effort.
Probably due to 2 tier pricing. The foreigner is not used to it and lost it. While the pharmacist does not need that publicity.

5% of 160 only 8 Van been tow away, still have 152 van consider very good for the owner.
I think there may be a zero missing there.

No, you just change tires when they are worn out, not by K's
Typical upsell nonsense.
Correct. Proper tire rotation for equal wear then change when the indicator on threads shows or 3mm threads.

They should make a distinction between enclosed pubs and discos and open air bars.

I think you need to study up on what defines alcoholism and alcohol dependency. It's not black and white. Knew a brain surgeon who would have one shot of vodka every morning. That was it for the day. Had to have that shot though.
This could have been to reduce the shakes (not to be confused with Parkinson). One shot and the shakes go away. It is not alcohol dependency either. More like medication.

As far as I'm concerned Thailand should rate much higher. An asymptomatic individual is contagious for 8 days; maximum 12. So Thailand is quite safe. The problem I think is that we don't know when the study gathered their data points and the weight assigned to each. That is, what is important and of lesser concern.

No virus and still with curfew, closed beaches and bars. No wine with dinner and all the other nonsense.
What's wrong with the leadership?

If there's no local transmission of the virus as the government claims, why continue with the curfew, state of emergency and closed businesses. Stop the nonsense and get the economy going.

Don't need a calculator to verify. 1% of 27,000 is 270. Half that is 135. So just under 0.5%.

China got a good look at what happens, figured out roughly which parts of the population would die, and decided that, on balance, they were okay with that.
This is a once-in-a-century opportunity for China. America boomed in the 50's and 60's because they were the only advanced nation whose infrastructure had not been decimated during the war, making them the workshop of the world. China will now be the only country that can return to full production. The Western powers might want to but, because they are supposedly democracies, they cannot get the bodies past their citizens.
So, until an effective vaccine can be mass produced and distributed to everyone, the West will remain paralyzed and China will manufacture their way to world dominance 20 or 30 years earlier than expected.
Manufacture what to world dominance? There are no customers.

They must be trying to create a panic situation as nobody could possibly be so stupid to give such an order. Amazing Thailand.
Right. And what do they expect will happen on Monday?

In the Philippines Almost every security guard is packing at least a shotgun, and often much more.
When you got to convenience store there, you always see armed guard(s) in the front of the stores.
Seems to work well there, armed robberies are fairly rare.
Exactly. I have not been in a few years but that's how it is. Nobody on an unlicensed motorbike with helmet on walks in.

The Problem is that I witnessed that some Thais (low income or non-VIP) with symptoms are not tested. They are sent home with a bag of pills and a Viral Pneumonia diagnostic. Then they are told to stay home for 14 days. No further action or follow up. How many stay home for two weeks. Maybe this is changing but it's too late.
They need to trace all those confirmed. Temperature testers are partially adequate but miss most carriers.

9.6 per 100,000 in Thailand? There must be a decimal point error or it's joke.
I was robbed twice in the first year here. I installed bars on all windows and back door, security cameras all around and an alarm system. That ended it. No such need in Canada.

It's a real show today.
Big increases :
- 20 new cases in South Korea (51 total)
- 10 new cases in Japan (84 total)Those 2 countries along with Singapore are the real acid test.
Because more developped than Thailand... And a little more serious about things....
Especially Tokyo, because it has exactly the same weather than Wuhan.
And pressure is huge with the Olympic games.
Furthermore, but it's just a feeling, japanese like hygiene. And this virus must annoy/disturb them big times (more than the radioactive fumes from Fukushima....)
Singapore is tropical. So there is still the idea of weather (warm) that could weaken the virus.
-79 news cases on the ship... total 624.. At this stage, the whole thing is just grotesque... Let's say that all the 3700 passengers are infected.
This idea of "quarantine" on a big ship... is just a disaster.
Singapore + 3
HK + 1
Even... Iran has... 2 cases.
But Thailand sou sou... 35. Since 2 days.
The thing is... The official is right : "we don't hide new cases".
They just do not look for them !
????
Classic thai (white) lie.
Anyway... In 2 weeks we will know for sure. If the exponential line continues...
Yep, with the food festival going on in Phuket town we should have a good idea if Thais are immune.

"thai immigration have everything under control..."
No...they don't!
If all was under control, honest and responsible daily repoting showing a small number of local infections would take place. The lack of reporting indicates otherwise.
-
They mostly report foreigners since its pretty hard to hide those. Foreigners have this desease and Thais (due to lack of proper reporting) appear immune. So most of them behave as is they were.
