Yet another industry in LOS decimated by the army afraid to loose its grip. Spending my summer in the states as usual and been really hard to get on courses here plus rates up across the board as it’s an obvious safe outdoor activity. Two steps backwards one step sideways Thailand.

One of the few countries without an emergency decides to just make one up. Totally a p u s s way to run from protests.

In my opinion this is one of the most awesome accomplishments the zoom generation has pulled off. What a total slap in the face on Trump! I hope their older brother's and sisters are going to pull another good one on him come election day.
Fails to mention that Trump had a smaller rally planned after that was so empty that Pence and him failed to show up fearing the "fake media" might take more photos of a bad showing. Kinda reminds me of his inauguration day. Love it!

I always like September and October. Fairly dry and very quiet. Gonna be very quiet this year around then. If your diving September should still be good but usually March on best diving.

Its anally retentive dicks like this Doc that get the attention of the <deleted> psudo-government that ends up punishing 70 million people who deserve a break from driving around on their scooters wearing a mask in 40c weather with no covid around.

Of course there is an angle. October delivery is the month before the election Nov 3. He can sit and blab away all day and night about vote for me and get the vaccine. He gave $1 Billion USD of tax payers dollars on this contract . Obvious election fraud as the vaccine is unproven.

I am in Pattaya now and I don't see much if any homeless people anywhere and I have a scooter and cruise around often. I have been here for 9 days and have had one person ask me for change. If there any numbers of homeless about they are hiding out from the police that patrol after curfew but it doesn't seem to be an issue.....yet.

Better then paying. Know someone got caught with Thai gf in roadblock in Jomtien two nights ago him no mask GF with. Cops wanted 20 but he paid 5,000 and of course no receipt for that one. He probably would have had to pay more if she did not assist the shakedown.

Ok good to know Jomtien is fair game and Tuesday open. Good news!

Typical story. Flight just cancelled want to go to Pattaya on Monday. With the current road blocks is it possible to get in at the moment?
Thanks!

Ride my bike every day 15-20km no mask but keep it in my pocket alongside my 25 baht half way coconut money. No issues and pass plenty of bikers no mask.

is Bert and Ernie running this country?

Can someone please explain to me why its better to isolate for 14 days over just testing people? Why is that not an option? Even if it is 5000 baht I would pay that in a second versus sitting in a damn room for two weeks. This <deleted> is so overdone.

The Thai girls have been on it for years but I think the time has now come for us guys to also get on the 2 cell phones program. One to download all the government spy apps and leave plugged in a weird location and the other one you actually use.

Yes I am business as usual on my end, no fear no paranoia. This whole thing is overdone to create fear, the governments around the world are going to take advantage of this to track you and reduce your liberties from here on out. Herders are getting their sheep in order, What flock are you going to be in?

I fly often on Bangkok air Samui to bkk and back with my Thai drivers licence so far no issues and have been not bringing my passport at all for domestic travels. This I believed was one of the main perks of having a Thai drivers license being able to fly and get hotels without a Passport. But, I was refused to check into my hotel booking last month in Pattaya without my passport and ended up settling on that plus my copies of my work permit and I got my room.
Solution for me is to bring the passport and only use it when they demand it.

Lets now translate how the Thai Government reacts to these stats.
Effective yesterday all work permits and visas impossible for all Burmese so they can go back to their country and work their growing tourism. How dare they one up us! We will show them. Our smiling Thais will pick up the brooms and wheelbarrows full of cement and take right over from their jobs and whistle while they work with gigantic Thai smiling faces.
Then the reality. These numbers will continue. Myanmar is just getting started especially the Southern coast. Guess what the Burmese will be going back home to work their growing tourism anyway regardless of how hard the Government here shafts them. Many already have plans on it (including some of my staff). They are just waiting for the investment and infrastructure.
When the Burmese leave on mass Thailand is really screwed. They might get a temporary respite if they open up to Cambodians but the rest of the SEA will pass up Thailand in terms of opportunity for migrant workers. The younger generation here has a sh*te work ethic, what can they accomplish other then debt? Then the last resort might be something akin to what happened in Sihanoukville. Just sell out and have the Chinese come and build it and run businesses themselves. Millions over there just waiting for that.

Yea but what they fail to mention is that the raja ferry to koh phangan is a car ferry that takes 1 hour 45 minutes and departs from the far west tip of samui which is as far as possible you can get from the main tourist areas of Chaweng or Lamai. So 30 minute plus taxi (probably 800bt) and that a super slow boat or just do the usual 25 minute Seatran or Lompraya ferry for 300bt.
This a deal to literally keep that empty boat afloat

Best news to come out of Thailand in a while. Soon my daily tea will be legal. Fantastic qualities to help you get focused on your daily duties. Highly suggest it to those who have to multitask and for those who have trouble getting the old choo-chooo up and running.
water, lime juice, kratom....that"s it.

All talk no action. Too little too late. Want tourists to come back?
offer 1 year visas multiple entry like Cambodia and Vietnam.
Reduce taxes on import items that tourists consume on holiday in like wine
Make Thai's accountable for their misdeeds to tourists. Put scamming taxi drivers in jail for a week. Punch a tourist unprovoked, jail for a month. More serious offences more time. Take Thai's away from their phone, food and family they will change.
Then maybe just maybe the Western tourism can improve.
Possibility for any one of those things happening >1%

Been on a Thai island 20 years and that article is pretty accurate IMO. Never heard a Thai utter the words "overdeveloped". I am thinking pretty soon they will be building cement shop houses on top of elephants. That would bring the amazingness back!!
anyone do quarantine at Grande Centerpoint soi 55?
in COVID-19 Coronavirus

Looking into options and the 70 m2 room at Centerpoint looks pretty comfy to be locked up into. I am not jumping up and down to spend 70k, would really like to spend less but just seeing if anyone has done the stay there and has any pros/cons and if not at Centerpoint do you recommend another that is same price or less?
