  1. We need more of that sort of advice on this forum.... Advice heeded and duly acted upon. Sticky Lives do indeed matter....stick up for the Stickies....????
  2. Australian's like their fish............... The problem with frozen fish is that it freezes/cooks down to almost half it's frozen weight. I have found cod bought in Thailand to be tough. I would find a place that does good fish of your choice and ask who supplies them. Transporting frozen food across Thailand is rarely an issue. Here is an example of a price list:- https://nookiesdelights.3baht.net/docs/Nookies Price List.pdf
  3. .... and the relevance of that comment is?
  4. True. But I would have encouraged them towards 13/14% abv wine with lower taxes/prices to wean them off the 40% gut rot. Most are alcoholics and simply top anyway - better they do it with lower alcohol content.
  5. Obviously not used to spicy Thai food - after all those goats testicles in the desert.
  6. So you support that level of increase? Just pushed the plebs deeper into Lao Khao consumption.
  7. Thaksin's accumulation of wealth is well documented. Some good business deals, some dodgy deals - some outright corrupt. Must have Chinese good fortune as he made a shed load when selling Manchester City (after being deemed by the FA to be an unsuitable owner). "Thaksin, who made a £120m profit by selling City, may now try to sell his remaining 10% stake in the club as tries to build a new life – he is reported to be building a £5.5m property in China – and fight Thailand's extradition procedures" https://www.theguardian.com/football/2009/feb/10/manchester-city-thaksin-sacked
  8. A bit over-dramatic don't you think? Have you noticed how quiet the military have been whilst the current scenario plays out. Thaksin should have stayed away if he has any lingering political ambitions. I doubt that even his egomania would let him think that Srettha would step aside to allow him to take the helm.
  9. It took him 15 years........................ If he had bottle he would have negotiated house arrest for a few years at the outset.
  10. "Master of the situation" ? You believe that BS? You have no idea who is pulling the strings.
  11. The point, that you will never be capable of seeing, is that your hero may not be the angel that you want him to be
  12. As far as I am aware Thailand is still joined up with it's road traffic offences and vehicle licencing. It will come, I am sure.
  13. You would look good if you had his billions to help with cosmetics.
  14. There will always be a next generation of rice farmers. What else could they subsist on?
  15. I think you will find that Pheu Thai only received 29% of the votes. Not a great return for all those 500 Baht's.
  16. ....from paid lackeys...
  17. Is there one? Apart from him being a criminal.
  18. Not that sophisticated........draughts maybe....
  19. No need to complicate things - actuarial calculations do not come into it. Specific pension scheme rules will will apply and they will usually quote a widow's pension of 50%. They will also usually state a deduction based on age difference. In my case it is 50% with reduction of one percentage point for each year over 10 in the age difference. We have a 20 year age gap so my partner will suffer a reduction to 45%. In most cases it matters not if you are married or not, same sex relationship or not. Most pension schemes will accept a nomination for your other half - if you change your other half, change your nomination.
