  1. Seems most of those crashes were due to factors the airport had no control over: terrorist attacks, equipment failures while in flight (maybe ground crew problem, there... I don't know). Crashes coming in for landing: pilot error or poor air traffic controllers? 1980 weather related crash: fault of the airport? Without more info on results of investigation as to cause and blame (if any), the stats seem fairly meaningless
  2. Is that the best you can do? (below from article you cite) "Biden said the Republican party is "dominated, driven, intimidated by Donald Trump" and his supporters, calling it "a threat to this country." "They refuse to accept the results of a free election. And they're working right now as I speak in state after state to give the power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies, empowering election deniers to undermine democracy itself," What part of that isn't factual? Look at how speaker Kevin is getting hammered for saying perhaps Trump isn't best candidate for Republicans. Why such fear of speaking one's mind? Because you dare not have one but fall in lock step Surely you must have heard all the insults and horrid accusations by Trump towards Democrats, the press, judiciary.... anyone or institution that does not bow down to him
  3. If the fire don't get cha then the extinguisher will...
  4. Trump said “People are not happy. What was he thinking?” but I think punctuation is off: should be: "What? Was he thinking?" Seems anyone who thinks their own thoughts and expresses own opinion is a traitor in Trump's eyes. Why do Republicans put up with this? If some party boss etc told me not to voice my view, I'd tell him to "take a flying f*** at the moon"
  5. I'm gonna go out on a limb here..... all the criminals guilty of overstay in Thailand are foreigners. All of them. 100%. Not a single Thai guilty of overstay in the kingdom.
  6. How many signed the petition? 20? 100? No indication in the article, which leads cynical me to assume it wasn't all that many. There should be some sensible regulations on pot, but not try to outlaw again. I think it might be a good move to tone down the potency of pot these days. It's like drinking grain alcohol as far as strength goes. How about some fine wine level highs? I smoked pot back when I was undergrad. Not as strong then. My outlook on drugs was "Study first, then maybe get high when finished". Many friends overdid it and didn't graduate in usual four years. A bit of self control and discipline, along with less than blotto level grass should be enough for most folks to get high without going self destruct mode
  7. "To secure a conviction, the jury's decision must be unanimous. It would only take one juror voting in Mr Trump's favour for the US government to lose its case." Uh, I don't think that is how it works. If one holds out and won't go along with the other jurors to either acquit or convict in cases requiring unanimity, then it is called a "hung jury": no decision NOT gov losing case The government then can decide to retry the case with a new jury or not.
  8. Yeah, right on that one.... however, if they were legally married, cheater (non spouse) can be dinged for compensation..... "Legal experts in Thailand state that a person who is legally married can even sue the third party in an extramarital affair, such as the mistress or a man caught having an affair with someone’s wife, for compensation. However, the lawsuit should be filed within a year after discovering the extramarital affair." Years ago I saw actual translated statute (I think!)... something about cheatee (One who is cheating with married person) needs to know other is married... https://mikeinvestigation.com/adultery-in-thailand/
  9. Unless he is a Muslim, I am pretty sure a man is only allowed one wife at a time.... I see nothing in article about him getting a divorce. Plus she could sue the new wife. It is illegal to have sex knowingly with someone who is already married. (I looked that up about 12 yrs ago). Maybe never enforced, but she could get damages with right lawyer. He should count himself lucky if she only got 720k baht
  10. some experts on CNN were pointing out this morning that there won't be any remains beyond stray cells and such to recover... no bodies, bones etc. Same probably goes for main bits of the sub. The instantaneous smashing is something we can't imagine. "I've lost two friends in the most horrific way," says search expert David Mearns. It was over so quickly they didn't know what hit them. They may have known the craft was going to break up, hearing creaks and such (per James Cameron), but when it imploded, it was faster than a finger snap. I'd much prefer that to slowly running out of oxygen, which is what most of the pundits thought was going to happen
