  1. Thanks for the update
  2. She became pregnant in mid-May and gave birth 2 months ago... That's an astonishing short pregnancy, or sloppy reporting.
  3. These guys are a disaster. They continue to spam my LINE with advertisements for their next day service even though they can't deliver and keep customers waiting for weeks. The customer service is useless. Bizarrely they are still 4-stars on Google despite the avalanche of 1-star reviews At some point they will go out of business and I don't want them holding my money when this happens, hence will not be using them again!
  4. Seems like the replies above are the level of help and encouragment you can expect from this community. Have you looked at the various chambers of commerce? They hold a lot of interesting events which could provide the opportunity to open doors with some people. Although if you want to work offshore perhaps you should be targeting to network in the jurisdictions that host the potential employers.
  5. Hi. The LTF was discontinued at the end of 2019 and is replaced by the super savings fund (SSF). Existing LTFs can remain invested until they reach the end of the 7 year minimum term and beyond if you wish. The SSF has a minimum investment term of 10 years. I don't think there is a maximum term. Redeeming before the minimum term incurs tax and other penalities. If you are aged 45 or over consider retirement mutual funds (RMFs) instead as you may be able to access the money earlier.
  6. Don't mention the war. I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it.
  7. Mine was sorted as well. Same problem 🙂 They were very helpful in the branch and seemed to have had proper training about the transition. Total opposite of my experience with the Thanachart TMB merger a few years ago which was a shambles.
  8. Any Citi credit card holders able to successfully register for the UOB app since the migration yesterday? I complete my passport number and date of birth and successfully receive an OTP, but the next screen asks to confirm my credit card number and then rejects it. Same issue when trying to connect with them on LINE
  9. I think they are quoting the PM2.5 concentration which is different to AQI
  10. More cutting-edge journalism from the Thaiger. I often wonder if there is some equivalent news website for Thai people who are living in the UK that breaks stories such as "Drunk Thai masters student caught urinating outside Thai Square in Putney", and perhaps a whole community of British "netizens" in uproar about it.
  11. Don't understand their reply but unless I'm mistaken the platform fee is not new and applies only to GrabTaxi. This is Grab's fee on top of the metered fare. For other ride types the fee is wrapped up inside the fixed price that you are quoted.
  12. You shouldn't take this as advice, as what is suitable for each investor is dependent on their circumstances and objectives, but for me I have found SCB Asset Management have a decent selection of funds. They have feeder funds which invest in offshore index trackers for the MSCI World or the S&P 500. Good way of getting the tax benefits without having to invest in Thai equities, which aren't to my taste. I use these to max out my THB 500,000 allowance per year in a combination of super-savings fund (SSF) and retirement mutual fund (RMF). Of course SCB adds a layer of fees on top of the underlying tracker.
  13. +1 Probably get a better exchange rate than your bank, and less hassle
  14. +1 I took the senior management from my company on this cruise during a regional meeting and it was very popular. Not cheap but good value for what you get.
  15. Just to briefly share my experience (applying with a lawyer assisting): 1. Applied in December 2019: they found an issue with one of my documents (they said my criminal record check from my home country was too old). They proposed a "solution" which I refused and so they did not accept my application. My lawyer asked for the regulation/announcement about the validity period for the criminal record check. They said they wasn't one - it was an internal policy. I do not know how genuine this was. 2. Applied again in December 2020: application accepted without paying anything. I had a different officer reviewing it and I made sure my criminal records check was brand new. They didn't mention it or seem to pay any attention to it. Got the approval in 2022
