- You should be able to get an extension anytime within the last 2 weeks (1,900 baht).
- A two day overstay will cost you 1,000 baht.
- If you get caught on an overstay you can be arrested, prosecuted and banned for 5 years.
Thats not true in this case
Why?
Because I am going to take your advice and get an extension

I have obtained my SEV however
My travel dates are:
Leave UK 4th July - arrive BKK 5th July - leave BKK 4th September
This means I will be there for over 60 days
Last year they pulled me to one side and just advised me that I overstayed by 2 days - no fine and very friendly
This year it seems they are stricter - should I go to Jomtien a week before and get an extension? I am not really looking to make a border run for a few days overstay
what advice from everyone?

I am in the UK and have a UK passport. I went to get a METV last week. I took my documents into the consulate and had the visa stuck in my passport 20 minutes later. The lady there was really friendly and was a good experience. I had to pay an extra £10 for same day issue. She mentioned to me that she hasn't issued many METV as a lot of people can't show the employment letter.
Which consulate?
-
They already exist -
Tikka Centre and Country Favourites to name just two
-
Have they been here before?
I had an aunt and uncle dock for the day I just drove them around, didn't spend more than a few minutes anywhere, they loved it.
They got us on the ship for lunch, the wife loved that.
No
Its their first time
Driving them around aimlessly is not really on my agenda
I just need a decent place to eat with them - with a view

Some family members are docking at Laem Chabang for the day - I will collect them at 08.15
I was considering meeting them with a driver and going to Khao Kheow - Open Zoo for 09.00 opening
http://kkopenzoo.com/newversion_eng/?page_id=361/#home
Spend some time there and then go to eat somewhere maybe fish on a beach
that ties in with them being back for the Ship at say 18.00 - 18.30 - any suggestions for a really good fish restaurant?

Probably makes a nice back up card for emergencies for those that do not have a Clarity Card, NW Flex Plus or N&P Account
Visa Debit type card from Travelex. Charges no foreign transaction/conversion fees with the Visa exchange rate.
Sort of like a physical PayPal account as it's linked to your usual debit/credit card - your card will be charged in GBP. Interesting concept IMO and means I can close accounts specifically opened for foreign usage.
Fees apply for UK usage. You can apply now - according to their website this may be rolled out worldwide
Naturally ATM fees still apply
Feel free to pick holes in it...

I have used Mr. T for a couple of years, once or twice a week to Bangkok, and found him reliable. One time "no show" and quickly corrected. True, no Camrys but reasonable value. If you are comfortable paying a bit more, then move up quality.
But thats the exact point I have been trying to make all along Meow (Camry) is the same price as Mr T. so no need to pay any more...

Why the big fuss over a camry?
Used Mr T to Pattaya and back in the last week
Had 4 passengers and luggage with stroller
Service was perfect
Driver had SUV
Driver on time and drove carefully
Lots of room for all of us
Mommy was very please with the service
1400 each way
Comparing apples and pears
Meows friend also has a mini bus which I provided the pricing structure for earlier
As for a Camry - are you saying there is no difference in the quality and comfort level of different cars and the smoothness of the drive?
I see Meow's boyfriend is active again.
How much is it for the SUV with Meow?
YAY, for Mr T
I have already stated that Meow is a young lady I bumped into outside Page 10 quite a while back - I asked if she does airport runs without middle men for 1000 baht - at the time her Camry was virtually brand new.
She confirmed that she could and I promoted her on PA Forum - at the time Mr T had let me down a couple of times with various scenarios - once to the Zoo and once for an airport drop off.
Another guy on PA started a specific thread for her and it snow balled from there
I salute the girl for having a good work ethic and providing value for money
Cheap shots like 'her boyfriend' etc etc shows the level you are at
Simple fact is the choice between a Camry or one of Mr T's cars to and from the airport I will take the Camry every time - especially the fact that she drives smoothly and safely without any stops for LPG

If you want to buy a watch in Pattaya go see Mr. Jack - located at the intersection of Soi Buakhao and Pattaya Klang - there are two watch shops there - his says Mr Jack on the window - over his work bench at the front of the shop
Besides selling numerous fakes - he also sells genuine watches
He has a range of watches that are Swiss but are manufactured in the Far East but yet still use all the Swiss parts
He and his father have been in the watch business their entire life
He is a very humble guy and will open up the watch before you buy to do final checks on it (not available in Central)
In some cases he can waterproof the watch and he guarantees everything - even fakes that I take in over a year later he repairs for free - unless its a battery or a damaged screen etc
At least pay him a visit before deciding to buy - you will not regret it
-
To be fair your nay saying is just as tiresome and without foundation
You stated on other peoples behalf that only I had been in the Camry - so are you retracting that now?
I respect the girl for trying to be different from other Thai people - means not being greedy - trying to give decent customer service and keeping her prices keen
Oh and one last question - how much does Mr T charge for a Camry?
-
Strange that in a 6 page thread on this forum there is so far only 1 person, YOU, who had the joy of the Camry.
If 3 members of this forum would call for a trip to airport on the same day, at least 1 would miss out on the Camry, but a big chance all 3 would because I expect she will need more than 3 customers a day to make a living, and only 2 customers going to airport each day will be able to enjoy the Camry.
Was the thread on the other forum started by you by any chance
No it was not started by me - point one
As I said she has colleagues who also collect in a Camry - point 2
No-one has come forward to say if they were in a Camry or not as yet - point 3
How much does Mr T charge for a Camry? - point 4

So without having to go through more than 100 replies, is Mr T still in service or not ?
After using Mr T for many years I tried Meow for my last trip.
I can't really complain, but I also don't see any reason for her glorification, as I didn't notice any difference in service that would justify a change from Mr T next trip.
Erm - The Camry - ask Mr T how much for a Camry...
Em, she seems to have 1 ( one - uno ) Camry and so far in this thread only one person who used her service, and that coincidental happens to be YOU, has experienced that Camry.
You're by any way related to Meow? Of course that was a stupid question of me.
Did you realise that a single car can only be used for 2 customers each day, because most flights are either morning or evening, and that all the other customers will use another car ?
Related? I am Greek Cypriot living in London - so no relationship either family or otherwise
I have been collected by a couple of her other colleagues - I state on my email I want a Camry and they collect me in a Camry
Saying a car can only go twice to the airport - think not but you may be right
Pray tell me how much does your beloved Mr T charge for an airport pick-up/drop off - using a Camry
Are you saying that no-one else has been collected by Meow or one of her colleagues with a Camry?

Coop at Coops Bar 2nd Road is putting on an almighty spread - mostly imported foodstuffs too...

When they use Camry, has it been converted to LPG ?
If it has been converted then there would not be space for more than 1 suit case?
If it has not been converted then I am sure they will not be able to offer those prices and stay in business long.
I would guess gasoline for 1 way airport would be around 400 / 500 baht. Take out booking commission and not much left.
As far as Ii know Meow uses Camry LPG and her boot fits plenty of cases - last time 2 of us 2 cases and 2 hand luggage
Why is it everyone keeps saying she will not be in business long - she is in business and will continue to do so - mainly because she does not follow Thai logic
Try her and then comment
Socrates, I am not knocking your friend meow, i was stating that if she does not use LPG it would be difficult to operate a sustainable profit on such low margins. Finance on a Camry would run to nearly 1000 a day for a start.
You said she uses LPG but I am not convinced you could fit more than one big case in the boot with LPG tank. Maybe I am wrong?
Photo of the boot of Meows Camry - plenty of room...

SA302 - Acceptable for Retirment Visa
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Apologies if this has already been covered but all the SA302 threads seem to be for people taking their spouse back to the UK
Simple question can you use SA302 to apply for a retirement visa
Thanks in anticipation
