Something's not right with the story and I know the goings on in NP better than most over more years. Possibly a one off set up between a lady boy and the police...or similar, certainly not a straightforward every day event that's for sure.

Yes I agree would not happen in most of the bars there, but those LB bars are aggressive, I like going to Billboard no hassle and cold beer, ladies don’t approach until you ask.

I know you're a fountain of knowledge with any visa cases, but are you sure?

I know from a friend who recently came to Thailand with a SETV from Austria. There at checkin they would not let him board because he had no return/onward ticket.

Fortunatelly his brother - living in Thailand - already had bought two tickets to Laos which he had to email in the middle of the night to his brother waiting at the Vienna airport.

Without that he would have been denied.

Who ever checked your friend in at AUS did not now the rules you need a outgoing ticket if you come in on a 30day on arrival but if you have a 60 or 90 single or double entry you do not need an outgoing ticket, remember these visas can also be extended by 30 days if needed. Where the IO was looking the amount of time he spent last year , 5 months looks to be the issue, maybe the IO was just being a A hole.

  3. I bring 12 months worth of blood pressure tablets every year, there are 30 to a box so there’s 12 boxes, however there is room in the box to put another 60 tablets so each box now has 90 tablets so 3 boxes is 270 it’s looks like 3 months worth and each box says 30 tablets even though it has 90. The remainder I put in my carry on.

I collected my new UK passport a few weeks ago and along with my passport was given a letter asking the Thai immigration to transfer my details into my new passport Buriram Immigration only ten minutes away.

Went immigration next day they transferred all details including last border run and date it expires, cost 500 baht but now everything's in new passport.

I did mine at Chaengwattana and it was free.
