  1. That's a whopper of a completely untrue statement.  You just like to read about the bad ones and label the others the same. There  are extreme punishments for cops in the states if trying to collect $$ or bribes. Don't try to compare it to Thailand even slightly.

Where did I say “all cops in America”. ?. That’s right I didn’t.

  2. Total ignorant BS, and sounds suspiciously like petulant whining from someone who's had problems...   You see a headline about some cop accused of this or that, and extrapolate it into an excuse for your own no doubt "unfortunate" dealings with law enforcement.

Please explain your thesis and provide examples for your conclusions as it is total BS of the verbal variety

  3. That doesn't excuse them for being crooked thieves. And what is worse, everybody knows they are crooked thieves. If the salary isn't sufficient, they should have found a different job.
Basically what you have is a policeforce indistinguishable from moto and tuktuk drivers. Just look at them.

Yeah agree but what I’m trying to say is the salary is not attracting the right candidates because they’ve took higher paid positions elsewhere.

  4. I have never seen any info regarding police wages. Also if they need an increase and receive one who is to say that they will not carry on with the tea money stint as well-----My guess is Thai style------increase AND more checkpoints

A member of the wife’s family is a border cop and it’s just enough for a family to survive. What your saying is correct as we’ve seen in America where cops have a decent salary they’re still bent as a $6 note.

  5. Mine was due in 15 days on the 10th October do I tried the online method and it would not move past the first page. I’d resigned myself to the fact it was a going to be a visit to immigration. Just out of curiosity I tried again on the 11th and it went through very easily and received a reference number. Used the second tab to check exhisting  applications using the reference number and it was showing “ pending”. On the 12th I checked again and it had been approved so printed out the confirmation and next report date easy-peasy. You need to use Internet Explorer not the newer browser “edge” in windows. If you do a google search it shows you how to install Internet explorer in windows 10. Not holding my breath for next time though but might be worth trying it over a couple of days.

To conclude “ is it working correctly?”.

NO it most definitely is not should work anytime on any browser.

  6. Another interesting election result coming in from Austria where over 27% voted for the party wanting to come out of Europe. That was only 7% behind the winner who will need to form a coalition to form a government. So everyone’s happy in the European superstate?. Don’t look like it from where I’m standing. Their doing a good job of hiding the true state of the union whereas the UKs dirty laundry is out for everyone to see.

  7.
Posts like the above don't half make me chortle at their silliness. The truth is, the Empire was always as much a burden as an asset, but everyone knows that those days are long gone anyway. Another fact is that Britain is neither a has-been nor a superpower: it is one of the best performing, most influential second-tier countries, and will remain so outside the EU.

When I mentioned Thailand as a possible source for replacement cars it was just hypothetical it could be any source. The U.K. has its own foreign car industry anyway who will relish the thought of expansion. Don’t think European manufacturers won’t see the potential either Britains spend lots of money and they won’t want to lose it. Empire? who needs one we can see what’s going to happen to Junkers European empire can’t we .

  8. Not only new cars are top dollar second hand cars are unbelievably expensive. In the U.K. as soon as you take it out of the showroom New it loses money, at 3 years old it’s lost half of its equity. But here they’re asking nearly New price at 3 year old, had many a laugh at second hand prices though.

  9. More for the Yanks to gain than the Brits, I should think. But desperation can make strange bedfellows ...

Britain is the fifth biggest economy in the world and imports vastly more than it exports. Any country that can not see the potential here is blind. The EU is bent on punishing Britain for leaving, then they just walk away and trade with someone else. No more German/French/Italian/Spanish cars into Britain would result in redundancies in the EU for starters. Maybe an opportunity for Thailand’s Car industry to Muscle in who knows. But one thing is sure Britain will survive it has done for hundreds of years before the EU and will be in a better position when the EU eventually implodes.

  10. We bought a 2.4 Prerunner G from Krugthai Toyota in Bangkok earlier this year. Can’t remember exact figures but we found they would not come down much from their listed price (about Baht 5000). But we did get loads of extras included like roll bar, tinted windows, driving camera, TRD mudflaps, floor mats, chrome door handle inserts, free servicing for the first year, first class Insurance one year, spare wheel lock and chrome tailpipe. Baht 5000 for the red plate refundable when you get the white plate and also got a years Road Tax or whatever it’s called. Just for info the only thing I don’t rate with it is the Toyota sat nav it’s pretty much useless in English, apart from that very happy so far with the vehicle.
