  1. I started with a Tiger ST200 Boxer, bought second hand. Loved it. Sold it to buy the next bike.

1992 Suzuki Bandit 400. Good bike, but realized inline 4s are not my thing, sold it.

After that, discovered my true love: 1998 Yamaha SR400. Will never sell it.

Then a nicely restored small vintage enduro bike: 1973 Suzuki TS185. Pretty rare in Thailand. A keeper.

Last year been looking for something bigger for touring. Found a 2009 Kawasaki ER6n with only 69km on the clock. Too good not to buy it. Great bike. Maybe will sell in a couple of years to fund a second hand Duc Scrambler or Triumph Newchurch.

    On the bucket list:

Custom made Honda C70 for around town fun.

  2. Having already 3 bikes(ER6n,SR400,TS185)plus 2 of my wife plus one I'm fixing for a friend, space has definitely run out.

I could see myself selling the ER6n to make space for a new bike....the Duc Scrambler for example, a Triumph Newchurch, or if money were no issue...a BMW RnineT, MV F3 and Rivals.

The wife is an issue of course....

  3. anybody who want to test drive can do that at mega bang na from today until 8th of march, just on the parking lot though.

Feels strange to ride but handles easy, nice torque. Not my cup of tea....

    Good info.

Is it a small fenced off speck of land or can you ride around the whole car park?

If it's just a small section I rather go Thonglor.

Eisfeld, from what I read there's no fuel gauge. I think you'll just have to use the old method of checking the odometer.

  4. What has this forum come to?!

A new guy with 12 posts congratulates the mods for owning a bike. Seems more than fishy to me, considering what has been going on lately.

I don't believe this OP is genuine. I think there's a hidden agenda, be it from one side or the other of the raging debate.

Personally, I'm getting fed up with all the drama.

  5. I keep 2 fingers on the brake when riding in cities and higher risk situations.

I don't quite understand why that should be considered bad practice...in Thailand or anywhere else for that matter.

I never heard about broken fingers due to keeping the front brake covered...

After reading through 8 pages (of mostly childish nonsense, unfortunately), I'm still none the wiser.

Can we try to keep this civil without the stupid baiting, flaming and trolling. Thanks

  6. I have an ER6n and compared to other bikes I had, I find it very economical. Not that I ever cared much how much they consume really.

Nor have I ever wondered how much up they are on the thieves' lists before buying them or how much power they have.

For me, deciding what bike to buy, has always been a compromise on what I really wanted and what I could afford. More of a heart before brain thing I guess.

  7. I've sent countless (100s) of parcels overseas, both by registered airmail and surface mail. Not one got missing.

    Same for receiving.

The only problem I had was with customs, which is like a Russian roulette. For the very same type of item and for the same cost, customs charged from ZERO to 8k Baht. If I make an average though, it must have cost me around 3K per item.

Anyways, I'm very happy with the Postal service here. Much better than in Italy.

  8. thanks for the links eisfeld.

This bike is raising a lot of dust from the bike scene...lots of people getting more and more excited. Nicer to see that Ducati delivered what they promised...a bike that would bring back the simple pleasure of riding.

I've never ever bought a brand new bike, but this could be the one.
