Yesterday I asked my wife if she liked a certain bike. Her answer: I'm not going to tell you, because you'll take it as an excuse to go and buy another bike. And then you'll tell me it's a surprise for me!
Hahaha...priceless...and so true!

This is my last term too. After 8 years teaching I had enough...I lost my passion and it wouldn't be fair towards the students nor good for my own wellbeing doing something I don't enjoy anymore.
The constant hassle and ever changing requirements are just a part of my decision, but important ones. Thankfully I have other means of supporting my family, so not really in desperation mode.
One more very capable and dedicated teacher in our office will (have to) leave as well, which will be a much greater loss for the school than my own departure.
I hope for the student's sake that things will improve soon, but I have serious doubts about that.

We just need someone who takes charge in organizing it...
Maz? :-)

I'm not serious about buying one, but I would love to visit the factory. Maybe we can arrange a tour?

Absolutely mental
Absolutely love it!!!

Very nice!
I think I should add a Triumph to my dream bike (bucket) list.
Hmm, but then, if only Kawasaki would make the W800 here...
-
Totally agree Maz.
If I had the money and space I would get all kinds of bikes: vintage (BMW R69S, Ducati 750SS, Ducati Scrambler etc etc), modern bikes (MV F3, Rivale, Ducati Scrambler,Panigale etc etc), street, cross, small and big, even HD (bobber style though) and even electric.
You're missing out on a lot of fun if you set a limit to your experience.
Talking about and comparing bikes is fun and can be a source of knowledge.
If it's done with an open mind.

Everyone's knocking the British bikes, but I've fallen in love with my old AJS 350 16M, while at home gave it a facelift, new bars, levers, headlight, a big clean. It may be right-foot gear and may not go fast, or reliable, but it is fun. It looks nothing like an AJS, with aprillia upside-down front forks & disk brakes.
Well, so much teasing and no pictures?!?

Mate, I suggest you take a chill pill and if you want to ramble on about what a 'real bike' is and what isn't, please open a new thread so that we can go on discussing bikes in a civilized manner.

Wow, that's quite some news.
Would hate to be one of the guys who just bought one for almost 800k...

I don't care much for the HP race between brands, but from a collectors point of view, I would go with the Kawa. In 20 - 30 years time, the R1 will just be another one in a long list of other R1's, but the Kawa will stand as an icon and be a collectors dream.
So, go out and invest now!
go out and ride or go out and invest?
prefer to go out and ride so yamaha r1 is superior bike than a poster bike kawa turbo IMO.
r1m also can be considered as a collectors bike as it will be a limited addition. a great bike it is to ride as well!
My comment was tongue in cheek, but if I had to choose, I would still go for the Kawa for the wow factor.
I agree with Seedy tough, too much going on in modern bikes. I prefer the smooth lines of the MV F3 for example. Love that bike.

Hmm, don't feel bothered by the heat at all. I don't have an air conditioner at home, don't need it. Even when Thais complain about the heat, I still feel fine.
Guess my blood has 'thinned out' well in the past years.

Hhaha We trust you Bramds! :-)

from the Scrambler Facebook page:
Hey there, Scrambler fans!!
The wait is almost over. The official price for all Ducati Scrambler models will soon be released at the Motor Expo 2014 where you can also start ordering for your Scrambler. But, before we get there, let’s make something clear. The red and yellow Scrambler Icon will definitely be priced below 400,000THB. While the Scrambler Full Throttle, Urban Enduro and Classic, may have a price tag around 10% more than the Scrambler Icon.
Stay tuned for the official figures and See you at Motor Expo 2014.

Let's just say that I probably would if I were single. :-)

Just came back from the presentation.
I must say it was very well organized and quite fun. I'm not going to write a full report here as I will do that tomorrow somewhere else, but I can tell you that the Scrambler looks and feels really nice. I was dying to try it out or at least hear it, but I could only sit on them...
Like someone said before...I think they're going to sell very well.
The highlight for me was meeting this gentleman...do you recognize him?!?
What a lovely chap, we talked for 20mins and he didn't mind giving me autographs and taking pictures.
I will add some more pics later on.

Doubt you will see any flaming or burning around here, at least in this thread.
I, and I think I can speak for the other guys here, love all kinds of bikes, including Ducatis.
A bike is like a woman, some like them fat, some skinny, with big headlights, with small tanks....whatever.
-
The Scrambler doesn't have a dry clutch, so no cling cling sound. Only older Ducati have it.
Personally I like the sound, it gives them character. But without is fine too.

Triumph bikes in Thailand
in Motorcycles in Thailand

Here is a nice overview of models and prices:http://www.britbike.co.th/Triumph_Motorcycle_Thailand,_Britbike/Price_List.html
Can someone explain why the Scrambler is 200k more than a Bonneville?
