What I see that all of us here are always repeat the same.
Only the way change now and then.
It seems you don't understand my way of thinking.
A simple example may help you :
I have no knowledge at all in neurosurgery.
But I will accept the opinion of Mr. Gazi Yasargil in the matter,
as eminent.
Mr. Yasargil being recognised worlwide as the specialist in neurosurgery.
On the other hand I will not accept the opinion of Pope Francis about God, gods, creators, beliefs as eminent.
Interesting, sure.
As you wrote God, gods, creators... is a subjective matter.
For example, according to me, Sunmaster's opinion about the matter, has the same value than the opinion of Pope Francis.
Hope this help.
You must understand there are 2 types of knowledge in regards to "God": internal and external.
The external knowledge is gained by acquisition from books, lectures, intellectual pursuit. Internal knowledge is gained by introspection, concentration, meditation...in short, personal internal experience.
I'm pretty sure Pope Francis has a very deep external knowledge, after all he's been studying the subject his whole life. We are not privy into his inner knowledge, so not much can be said about that.
Comparing Sunmaster's opinion to the Pope's opinion is quite a compliment actually, at least in regards to the external knowledge.
If you're looking for experts/specialists in regards to the internal knowledge, there are plenty out there that know more than Sunmaster, the Pope and all of us here combined...Eckhart Tolle, Allan Watts, Buddha, Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Ananadamaji Ma...just to name a few.
The sad thing is that you can't benefit from their expertise, since you can't accept that anyone can have more internal knowledge that anyone else. Too bad for you.- 3

Apparently without success for everyone,
I always stated that opinions have more value than others, if they are expressed by specialist in the matter,
specialist consider as such by everyone,
not by one himself, or a few dealing his opinion.
You mean a specialist you can agree to be a specialist, even though you don't have the knowledge to judge if he's a specialist or not?
"Everyone" will never ever agree on everything, especially things like God, coz they are subjective.
Basically you're saying you're willing to believe whatever the majority of people believes. Who cares if its true or not.... >>>???? ???????????????? ????????????

Hello all
I'm thinking about getting a second hand car. Something small and under 400k.
I've been looking at the Mazda 2 and 3 hatchbacks and I really like the design and interior finish. I have some doubts about their reliability though as I heard that many of the Mazdas have issues with the fuel pump (or cooling pump?). Does anyone of you have more info or real life experience with the Mazda 2 or 3?
Also, perhaps you can recommend another similar car?
Thank you -

Again, no human living on planet earth knows the truth, and the bible is written as a total wholy book of delusional texts to make sure most people who fear life and afterlife will convert. It is a perfect tool to collect every soul who have lost faith in life, or have something to gain. It have been a perfect tool to form out western lifestyle after tears, blood, violence and wars in Jesus and gods name, and it continues the day today. We have not seen the end of dark times yet, they are coming back for sure. We have just grown up in a perfect little buble, where we could breathe for little second, before it all start again, and you are part of those dark ages. Whe know what people are capable to do against humanity if they just get the right timing.Drowning and Burning women, stoning, and genocide.
No respect for totalitarian beliefsystems Or politics. It is deleted and I can not express it strong enough!
While I certainly agree with you on most of your points and I'm also very critical of the bible as a source of wisdom, my main gripe is with people who only interpret the scriptures in a very one-dimensional way and think their own interpretation is the unassailable truth. We can see it in the discrepancies in the 2 interpretations between CMN and fred....both claim to be true Christians and base their faith on the same book. Their interpretations of that book though is very different and reflect their own nature and comprehension. And that's only 2 people! Imagine how many interpretations there are among 2.4 billion Christians living today!
The point is, we have to be careful not to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Even though they are covered with centuries of imperfections, the bible contains spiritual truths that obviously have helped a lot of people.
Any interpretation of any religious scripture that justifies division among people of different religions, sexual orientations and beliefs, should be avoided like the pest.- 1

Hi Don
The chances that someone here has one for sale will be pretty slim, especially in good condition and even more importantly, with a green book (registration).Have you checked the usual classifieds?
BahtSold, Craigslist Thailand, Facebook Marketplace, Kaidee...

I use those rubber coated textile gloves when I have a very dirty or messy job to do. For example, when restoring an old Kawa AR80, the amount of decades old dirt and grease made wearing those gloves a welcomed necessity.
During welding jobs I wear thick leather gloves. -

Of course it has value, but not because they are ancient. The teachings described in the Tao Te King, the Baghavad Gita or Patanjali's Yoga Sutras (to name a few) contain timeless truths that are as valid today as they were hundreds or thousands of years ago....and will be for many years to come.

Ok so the you also believe that Meditation makes you a better human "evolved" being and as such your beliefs must be correct. they don't need to be replicable and No peer review necessary?
I think I did and I agree with sunmaster.
Did you read what I wrote about meditation?? I clearly stated that what you encounter on the inner journey is replicable and that the peer review is done by other practitioners and especially teachers.
If that weren't the case, there would be no yoga system at all, but just a formless blob of individual experiences with nothing in common.- 1

" Another highly effective way is to follow a meditative practice. "
How does the meditative practice verifies the validity of one's beliefs ?
Good question.
First of all, let me clarify that meditative practice doesn't only refer to sitting in meditation, but it's a way of life that includes right nutrition, physical health, leading a highly moral life and a constant effort to improve the mind. Leading such a focused life greatly accelerates your evolution.
It's not possible to make good progress if you meditate 20 minutes a day, but still indulge in mind numbing and immoral activities.
When you start on that path, you follow the directions of those who have navigated the inner landscape before you and you can first-hand explore and verify if what they said is true or not. That way your beliefs may change, not because someone or a book told you so, but they will automatically change and adapt based on your own experience and new data.
The individual experiences can not be dismissed as random "feelings" or "visions". They have common grounds in all practitioners and are thus verifiable by other peers. That's why an experienced teacher can give you advice and support your progress, in the same way a music teacher can help you to become a proficient musician.- 1

That's the point. FREE CHOICE??? Where's the 'free choice'? Where's these murdered people's god-given free will? Where's the children born with brain cancer or leukemia's free will or choice? Or the kidnapped child that is raped, tortured and brutally murdered? Where's their god-given free will? Or the thousands of children that die from malnutrition on a daily basis?
FREE CHOICE?!?
Or are you saying only the monsters have the 'free choice'? Not the victims? ONLY The monsters...just like the monsters that are all the non-existent deities. Christian, Muslim and Jewish and many of the others.
Day to day life is dangerous. Disease, famine, natural weather events. Crossing the street, driving, selfies! Wild animals, insects, and the most dangerous wild animal of them all...Humans. Imperfect, many cruel and mentally damaged, jealous, mean, vengeful, prideful and out of control.
Wake up and smell the BS!
I understand what you're saying and I see why you would think the whole "system" is unfair.
It depends on the point of view I think. If you consider humans to be victims of circumstances, of their environment where they randomly happen to grow up, of the social and financial status of their families and more importantly, victims of the limited time they are allowed to exist.....then your reasoning is very justified.
On the other hand, if we assume we have a soul or eternal consciousness that is only bound by time for a very short period while incarnated, then we gain a much wider perspective of our life (or lives).
Like Shakespeare said "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages."
We are like actors who chose to play a role for a limited time on earth, forgetting that we are actors. When the curtain falls, we awaken from the dream. We may have played the roles of enemies on stage, but behind it, we turn back to be best friends, because we know it was all a play.
All the suffering, the struggles and heartaches will drop away just like a nightmare dissolves quickly upon waking up.
You say life is dangerous, it sure is. But it's also amazingly beautiful, full of adventures and things to learn.
You say there are terrible people out there, absolutely true. But the vast majority of people are just like you and me, struggling to live this life the best way we can, with our ups and downs, stumbling sometimes, making mistakes, but still going forward.
You have the free choice to change your point of view if you want to. Isn't that amazing?- 1

They say God has created man in his image, when in truth it's the other way around.
We have personified God in our image.
And to answer the post above. There is only one way to prove the existence of Spirit, but you have to do it on your own. You can't rely on a book or on a belief system (aka BS). Some people might steer you in the right direction, but it's you who has to make the first step, wrestle with your own shadow, peel the onion layers until you find who you truly are. Once you know that, you'll know what "God" is.
I honestly don't understand why so many people are content with "believing" when there are so many ways to "knowing". I guess it's just easier.- 1

Scientists to this day, use the best and finest instruments at their disposal to understand the universe, but they can only go as far as making educated guesses. Or are you happy with the Big Bang explanation? The theory tries to describe something, but it doesn't really explain how everything came out of nothing.
When I was young, I learned that matter was made of atoms, atoms made of electrons, neutrons, protons and the smaller particles where just being discovered. After that, even smaller particles were discovered. Now it seams that everything is in a state of flux, quantuum physics says that there is entanglement among particles, meaning 2 entangled particles can instantly affect each other even if they are on the opposite sides of the universe.
This to show that science evolves and with it the understanding we have of the universe.
People look back at the dark ages and deride the geocentric worldview, yet treat science as the ultimate holder of truth now, as if we have reached a point where everything has been explained. Far from it.
So you still need a good dose of belief in what others tell you.
Has science explained the rising of the kundalini for example? It's the force/energy that resides at the base of the spine and can be released through meditation, or a strong trauma or psychotropic substances.
No it hasn't. Yet this energy has been described for thousands of years in India and is as real as it gets.
Science draws maps of the outer world.Zen, all the different types of Yoga, contemplative meditation, shamanism etc, have drawn maps of the inner worlds.
Just like the experiments in science, the stages of development one passes when meditating, are repeatable over time and different individuals, and the experience gained can be scrutinized by those who have walked the path before them (peer review).
One is not better than the other, both hold a piece of the puzzle and both should work together instead of being divided.

I know I'm reviving a very old thread, but since I am considering getting one of these mini vans, I was wondering if there are any new experiences you'd like to share.
People here seem to range from "absolute rubbish" to "cheap and well worth it".
Price and size would fit my needs perfectly as I would only use it for a very short daily distance to the post office and maybe an occasional trip to the race track with a bike in the back.
Another option for me would be the Toyota Hiace (similar price and size, but about 17 years older).
Any ideas? -
Cheap wine is barely good enough for cooking. A decent bottle starts at 800-1000Baht. Quality over quantity I say.

Right presumption, wrong conclusion.
Of course it's a subjective concept and can not be measured like an external knowledge.
That doesn't mean it can't be evaluated using other parameters.
The fact that you can't see those parameters or don't understand them, says absolutely nothing about the value in the words of those masters.
If you consider your opinion of the same value of i.e. Buddha's teaching....well, I'm sorry, but then I won't waste any more of my time discussing this with you.
