  1. you really should check with a visa agent. They also will help you with a "take care of child" visa.

    1. if ya aint married, a marriage visa becomes invalid. you cant ride your marriage visa out until the end. Pls ask details with a visa agent.

    2. nope. easy as applepie. That is, if you can prove you are a real dependent for the child. After the divorce, who will take care of the child, the mother?

At the divorce, you will have to arrange and sign some papers which are dealing with assets and also which parent will be the legal guardian. Think about that before you sign. Try to get that in writing on your divorce papers, that you are a caretaker or guardian.

    3. If you are legally the caretaker  switching to that visa is easy. if you are not legally the caretaker, you dont get. Its not about "hoops", its about the right paperwork.

If despite yr divorce you have a mature relation with your exwife, she could also help you and go together to immigration for information.

Best to go for immigration and or a visa agent to ask info which documents/ information are needed for your situation.

    good luck.

Obviously you believe that shouting makes the narrow minded perspective more credible, and I can only assume that you believe domestic tourism to be some sort of myth.

A couple of weeks ago we went to Laem Sing and the hotel we wanted was fully booked, village was as busy as it would normally be at this time of year. On the way home we called into Laem Sadat, quite a hive of activity, no ghost towns around there.

Quite obvious from the article that they are not entirely dependent on foreigners.

"If the sector quickly recovers early next year or in the second quarter next year, it will have revenue of Bt1.525 trillion of which Bt977 billion will be contributed by foreign tourists. "

You really ought to get out from behind that keyboard a bit more.

haha. good observation. Its only logic. Also Thais cant travel abroad, so instead of a holiday in another country, they will have a holiday in Thailand.

Anyway, individual people or businesses alike, one always should try to adopt AND STRIVE TO BENEFIT from a changing situation.

The covid crisis brings MASSIVE oportunities for other sectors.

  3. tourism globally is decimated, so this is not a specific Thai situation.

International travel is limited worldwide so naturally people will not go abroad for a holiday but stay in their own country.

International tourism will drop but national tourism from Thais will go up.

This might be good for Thailand in the long run, away from tourism dollars and focusing on other industries.

Nothing new this was already said a few weeks ago. Still nothing for retirement visa ownerd or yellow house book to come back. Probably chinese will be able to come back earlier

and why not? China has the crisis under control UNLIKE all western countries.

Besides that, i dont see any Chinese (or other citizens from Asian countries) have protests AGAINST wearing masks or having a bad attitude against covid restrictions.

It makes perfect sense to keep the border closed for westerners and first open it to other Asian countries, including China.

Of course thats a hard pill to swallow for some farang....the thought that other people can go first and they have to wait!

This is probably one of the best ideas I have heard in a longtime.

Expats are here because most of them have been successful in their own Countries and moved here on the success.

Lawyers, Engineers, Doctors Etc Etc Etc. All those skills and all that experience not being tapped.

Skills and Experience that would transform Thailand as a nation if they could be taught.

But no, we are not allowed to Educate these people to our high standards.

Thats a bit the problem with farangs. Going to other countries and mistakenly believe your standards are higher and better. And making a point out of it to keep that attitude for years and years (bc it feels so good to feel superior) ...and years, and never come to understand or apreciate or respect your new country. What a waiste!

Yes this is a direct slap in the face to people who bought and live in their condos here. Especially the retiree with valid reasons and a valid visa trapped outside.

Such a retiree is trapped outside Thailand bc obviously he doesnt live all the time in Thailand. A retiree who bought and really live in their condo (full time not part time, sometimes Thailand, sometimes their home country) has no problem at all.

It seems everbody feels entitled for special visa treatment (the newest entitlement seekers are the "seperated lovers".) but fact is, borders are closed, if you were out, you stay out and have to wait until the borders open.

So where are the invested in condo retiree or retiree under long lease plans who have their lives here?

buying a condo, or a Gucci handbag or whatever, is not investing. . Buying a car, or a house, its buying, not investing. Even if the colorfull sales brochure say you are "investing" , you have to understand you are not investing.

Investing is making a busines here and creating jobs for people.

    CHINA CHINA CHINA CHINA

The countries obsession with China is horrendous. This economic disaster Thailand is facing is because of China. Yet there they begging them to give them more.

Blaming usually is a way to deflect of ones own failure. Just look at the usa blame gaming China for political reasons and trying to cover up their own inability to deal with this crisis.

It seems more like you has a CHINA obsession. Thailand has good and positive relations going back a long way in history. China is practically a neighbor, with a huge market. Why Thailand can't have relations with China? Isnt it just based on fear and jealousy? Thailand should be on the usa leash and not flirt with China?

    Thai wife? Really?

You approve of him scamming people?

Oh i see he has a Russian wife. My misstake. But i dont see anything about him scamming people, with regards to this accident.

The gofundme page....why not? nothing wrong with that. often a page like that is not for the publicbut just a way for friends and family to financially help a little bit.

It might surprise you but friends and family dont care if an injured loved one has a house and a swimming pool, they just want to help.

Except forsome googling we dont know the guy, so for sure i wouldnt donate but i also wouldnt make nasty comments. Just wishing him a good recovery sounds the best to me.

I don't think anybody would say there is no corruption anywhere else, however although there are murders in Switzerland you would not say it is therefore the same as Tijuana would they.. Thailand is rife with corruption at every level in society,, dishonesty, scams etc are all accepted in the name of financial gain.. its bad in Thailand, very bad, you will be silly to suggest otherwise.

and yet, walk around in the city or any part of Thailand, day or night, always safe unlike all European cities there are no No-Go zones or neighborhoods where its unsafe to walk, or to live for that matter.

Thailand is a safe and friendly society, anyone suggesting otherwise would be silly, so maybe you and other farangs are simply too negative and all these bad things you mention are greatly exaggerated, including corruption.

Unfortunately, in the Red Bull case i agree with you. Very badly handled, i hope sooner or later they realize it wont go away, and "Boss" will be arrested.

No one is holding Monsanto stock.

A fair percentage of the world will starve if chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers are banned.

Meat and produce have been engineered for hundreds of years

good grief, get a grip. this is not about banning all fertilizers and pesticides. This only about banning one specific pesticide. Nobody.Will.Starve.

thailand, educated united and shut down economy,

got a 3000 uptick in pneumonia deaths supposedly unrelated to covid

sweden, educated and carried on business as usual,

not a mask or closure in sight

both are going toward zero new deaths

    daily deaths thailand.jpg

    sweden covid-19.jpg

It takes literally a few seconds to Google. Quote from a yesterday newsarticle:

"With a COVID-19 death toll of 5,700, Sweden’s mortality rate from the disease is now around a quarter higher than that of the United States, when adjusted for population size."

A  Swedish mortality rate higher than the usa. 5700 deaths. You know, that justdoesnt sound good to me. No praise from me for the Swedish covid response.
