  1. Ask for an official receipt.

There is no way that this is legit, they are part of a Government public service; their petrol fee would be paid for through expenses.

No way, is this legit or morally right.

    However....

.... saying "No", might put you in a harder position for getting your visa.

Well cheeky, if you ask me.

    HAHAHAHAHA @ MORALS - It's Thailand right?

  2. BIG WORD OF ADVICE: Leave your Thai partner to be faithful to their religion and do NOT get involved - do not pass remarks at them etc..

You don't have to attend the temples etc and you will see that Thai's normally do not push the point - I have also never experienced Thai's to ever push their religion down my throat - its tolerance !

Same applies to politics - steer well CLEAR

  3. 1) She is Thai - have you asked her on this? Surely she knows what she will do

    2) She has a niece close to her - so that would be an option for care

    3) You say she will be self reliant & taken care of financially - so no issues in that respect

In the end the old custom / culture thing will anyway come into play and she will obviously turn to family for assistance if needed.

I don't see the problem - but if I were you I would try to have some special savings account for this issue in the future - something that you keep saving in from now that she will have for her own as extra when the time of need arises

  4. The part of ordering too much that she cannot eat is a waste of course - but Thailand does not have starving people so they don't care.

Maybe your lady is worried that she might not have a meal tomorrow - so she tops up wherever and whenever she can.

  5. I'd like to know what the German Embassy think about this situation.

I also wonder if making the derisory offer for the computer could be construed as an offence which warranted a retaliation in kind.

The German Embassy probably do not know - any why would they be concerned ? It is not their issue.

Even his own embassy are not interested (Canadian) - embassies are not our "bodyguards or nanny's" - if one makes SH1T then one must take the consequences

  6. Through all this holding his passport so long - he has forgotten about "overstay" What a drama !

I believe the immigration office holding his passport in line with the court order may stamp extensions as the case is unsettled. However it is discretionary so there may be overstay but it is not certain.

Believe me - I would not be so sure about immigration doing his stamp extensions - he has to ensure this is been followed up - it is HIS responsibility. Or more issues on another level.

  7. You have already been married 7 years - you know each other by now and you should know if she cares from for the right reasons.. if you are happy and love each other then don't worry about the things that seem meaningless - live for that happiness you have !

    Get well soon !
