Right says the guy with the tinfoil hat thinking its all a big scam to have retailers make more money.

Those plastic bags were not breaking the bank one bit, this came purely from environmental rules same as in the more civilized western countries like my own. Then you got crackpots like you who refuse to bring a bag. Its so easy i got multiple nylon bags smaller as the palm of my fist so easy put one in a car one in my bike and one in my jeans and done.

Its not that had and no need to resist just to plan ahead and think a bit.

Sure more can be done but its a nice first step.

I have what I call "my makro" tubs... I purchased them to use when I go to Makro.... now I just toss em in the pickup if going to BigC/Tesco/Foodland/Villa etc etc.

It really is not a bother.

Going after the crop/fields and garbage burners would have a bigger impact, not just in BKK, but across the country.

And instead of banning vehicle use, how about starting a nationwide vehicle inspection and certification system for tailpipe emissions. It would make money, provide employment and do a lot to clean the air.

If your vehicle doesn't pass, you have to have it serviced to come into compliance with tailpipe emissions standards, and then have it retested to pass.

O-Please logic is never part of the conversation here.....Its do absolutely nothing for ages followed by jack-boot knee jerk reactions and threats followed by desperate backtracking followed by forgetting the whole thing....

Luckily, My wife still has ever plastic bag she has ever been given, they are under the kitchen sink. At current estimates we have a 20-30 year supply.

It was major undertaking and extremely difficult, but I have managed to transfer some of the bags to the boot of the car and under the bike seat. Its taxing , arduous and a very radical idea, but I use these bags when I but something.

Seriously, if its raining take an umbrella with you, if its cold take a coat, if you are going on a date take a condom. AND if you are going shopping take a bag. its not hard.

I dont like plastic on my Peter, only as a last resort,,,,,,,But I do like to carry my food in plastic bags.....

I've been using my own bags for around 2 years now.  I've NEVER had to pack it myself.  I either place it in the basket along with my purchases or on the conveyor belt where they have them.  They have always been packed by the cashier.

Maybe the people you've seen, choose to pack themselves or find it 'impolite' to give their bag to the cashier.

That was happening in the past and is still the case, but more recently, the cashier is asking for your bag if not offered.

You can also take your own single use disposable plastic bag....It will almost be like the good old days before all this anti bag hysteria......

Wonder if this will start applying to all the water bottles and other plastic tat that is advertised next to every news reader or talent show panel guest

The plastic bags and straws are only step #1.......Next plastic cups and plastic utensils.....Then plastic bottles and the small plastic bags the street sellers use....Then ?? Maybe no more plastic teeth fillings back to mercury fillings...lol.....
