IMO, Harbor Mall would have been MUCH more successful had they built it a few kms east of Sukhumvit, on Siam CC Road. I don't understand why Thai and foreign developers continue to ignore the opportunity for a major mall on the Darkside. The population, both Thai and Farang, is definitely there to support it. ... "If you build it, they will come!"

I agree....Harbor mall would be doing much much better on the dark side.......The dark side in my opinion is set to really take off......I am sure rents are way way cheaper on the dark side for businesses.....

Have gone in there many times and it's a sad sight indeed. for this beautiful mall....but....to be very honest....What's it got to do with me whether it survives or not?

Well you go there so I guess it does have to do with you,,,,And if they go out of business I guess you will not be going there,so that also has to do with you....

The trend is huge malls all over the world. Unfortunate for small business owners of course. Many town centres globally have been emptied , closed down shops everywhere. Parking problems  being one of the main problems. Of course, having a super air con to do your shopping / eat, have coffee, or a nice roof over your head when it’s cold or raining is great too. It’s called progress, and there should no going back .

Well unfortunately for the malls in Thailand the low rent markets are still BOOMING....Because they are way cheaper than the malls....

I think the ultimate goal of all this insane and over the top mall building is to squeeze out the cheap markets and to force people into the malls.....

Bangkok is well on its way to doing this with its incessant non stop mall building....How many more bloody malls could Bangkok possibly need??

Look for loads and loads and loads of new malls if they plan to be squeezing out a big chunk of the cheap markets in Thailand....

“Most people”.... don’t be so arrogant as to think that you enough people to make a difference.

Fortunately for them you (and this mass of people) don’t make a scrap of difference to the success of Kiss - where it is often impossible to find a seat.

Hand luggage, yes sure. hang luggage get's also xray in transit often and of course before you board. This is about check in luggage, which normally gets xrayed when you check in with the airline and then only occassionally when you exit and they think you hide something.

The article  suggests that they want to scan everyones check in luggage when exiting the airport. Which will just result in beeing even more slow - and thats the only reason why it bothers me.

The volumes of luggage per day are absolutely huge...This will not work....
