  1. I have lived in several 1st. to 3rd. world countries during my lifetime. I have plenty to moan about in TH. Immigration is not part of it. Easy, fast, cheap, low thresholds and conditions and therefore attracting crowds that might never fulfill conditions to get residence, long-term stays, work permits in other countries. Expats with zero financial reserves, no proper health insurance, not even savings enough to oblige legal requirements to stay in the country of their choice, play a risky game in many respects. Never any issues in Phuket, Samui, Pattaya in 26 years. Maybe i am just lucky and well enough prepared. Looking at certain people, that show up dressed like slobs, ruffled and incomplete papers in hand and full of attitudes...

They deserve to be sent away to prepare better. MS>~

  2. Hi there

I hope somebody can get me on the right track here. Never done any banking/funds/shares investments here in TH.

I am on my way out, seems the C is taking control ????

My TH assets will go to my caring long-term gf. & he kids. She is hardworking and deserves every Baht she gets. In 15 yrs.

never got nothing, but support to run her own show / business, which she does very successfully in long, long hours and still

finds the time to more and more take care of me.

She will end up with a few condos she is renting out and around 8-10 Mio Baht in cash, 2 installments. She does not have any

banking/investing experience, neither do I here in TH.

What can I advise her? Where to invest safely & not greedy, all the money? I know there are some very smart guys on here, who

can answer this with a basic, structured  plan. Any advise - this thing been on my mind for a while - very much appreciated!

    Thank you so much. MS>

  3. Hi there:

Is Dr. Warin still one of the preferred dentists? I need somebody working exact and patient. No issues with fear or such. Cost not main factor.

I need my reasonably good teeth fixed in every detail, as undergoing cancer treatment.

Anybody with exact location, there are so many dentists in that area, I could not find his office last night......?????

    Thank you kindly.

But would need local guy for upgrades, updates & repairs....

    Thank you all kindly.

You can do that if you want to. There is no rule that says you cannot do it.

Then you could do a border hop for another 60 day entry as long as you do it on or before September 24th. And then another 30 day extension.

I wonder if you are a medic involved in HIV/AIDS medicine. I am someone who worked 15 years as Associate Specialist in the field of HIV/AIDS and STD's in UK. To your comment, people with HIV virus can die despite of medication fairly quickly if they have oportunistic infections such as Tuberculosis, Pneumocystis Pneumonia, Hepatitis C. These infection affect further the immune system. People have also mutiple drug resistences due to non complience to medication. Pneumonia can kill within few days. This is happening even today despite of the wide range of treatment for HIV.

Well said... TV is the hub of experts.... Not to say there aren't some good ones. MS>

  6. What good do all the expert assumptions do? A fact is that TH has a miserable record in any safety aspects. Just been to a large resort in Kota Kinabalu. Daily dozends of large speed tourboats with hundreds of Asians. Very well organized tours, boarding by name, everybody safety instructed and sitting down. Prof. guides and drivers. No screaming nutcases. Clean, daily maintained and checked boats. Prof. harbormaster. It is very well possible to run an operation safely, certainly not here. RIP. MS>

  7. 400K coverage?? Ridiculous amount these days. My cancer treatment at the moment costs 380K every 2 weeks. A recent emergency surgery to remove a tumor  cost 1.2 Mio total. A ww approved latest generation immune therapy will set you back 400 to 800K a month. This is mainly medication cost. Doubt a Public Hospital would have them on offer cheaper?

Overall a good move to make people get at least some kind of insurance. But ending up in a public ward might be a bit of a culture shock, trust me. I will stay with my private hospital. Self insure? You better save well and lots... MS>

Last extension, I saw that lady and the younger guy working beside her both browbeaten by this huge German towering over them yelling and insisting they accept his papers. This went on a few minutes. They should have had him taken away, jailed, and fined. Kept saying, "no, no, no" and then the younger guy said, "Go back to your own country!" Idiot finally did leave. THAT impressed me as to what they sometimes must deal with. I was extra nice to the lady when my number was called. It was really a bad, embarrassing scene.

Anybody unprepared, not properly dressed, rude or obnoxious sent back home. Please come again tomorrow. This would make the round fast. These people are even too cheap to have  copies and forms at the office next door prepared for a couple of 100 Baht if they are too dumb to do it themselves. Easy to manage with 1 or 2 big IO at the entrance, ready to decline access or escort some of the morons out. Never seen a collection of people who expect a service in Gov. Office like in Pattaya. Even the smells are often horrific. These officers are very patient and tolerant. MS>

  9. Takes 15 minutes in Pattaya. All with a smile and help even for the numerous genius farangs who can not prepare some basic forms properly or dress halfway decent for a day. Ever tried to become a resident of another country? Or do retirement extensions? With exception of a few, you would not believe the efforts and cost. There is much wrong here, but retirement ext. is just fine IMO and Jomtien is efficient and friendly on every desk. MS>
