3. Hi IvanLaw,

Keep us informed on how your wife does in the interview. Mine is still waiting a date for hers and we submitted the application 4 weeks ago. How long did you have to wait?

As for your question. There is a Thai lady that cleans at my office who only started a couple of weeks ago. I asked her a few questions along the lines that you are wondering i.e. she'll be lonely etc. Someone mentioned earlier that they are survivors and i'd say that is true from my talks with the cleaner. The most important thing to her was to be able to get hold of spices and Thai food. If i was you i would tell your wife to bring essential spices and the likes with her when (hopefully) she comes and in the meantime you try and locate some supermarkets that you can buy the ingredients. In Manchester we are lucky to have 2 massive supermarkets, Wing Yip and Chai Yip that are predominantly Chinese but stock everything that Thai's need. I think if at least she doesn't miss the food, the meeting people and making new friends will follow. Additionally, someone on this site give me the number of a phone company that only charges 1p per minute to call Thailand. At that price you can let her call home all day if she likes.

Good luck

Mr BJ

Hi BJ and Thanks for the advice

I have sent document “Up Dates”, for her Interview,

Copies of Bank Statements, Phone Bill, E-Mails etc

Now just waiting with fingers crossed &trying to be Patient. :D

Okay, here goes...

Sbk, Chill!

Please try to understand all of you that we must talk in graet manners... For the sake of writing just a few words there's no need to use your body part or even your beautiful skin as a subject.

This is a public place so watch out all you guys, that does not mean that you can change you from a beauty parlour or hair dresser shop or use the forum for your privet (does he mean bush?) - and I hope you understand this and please don't look down on Thai people.

Something something something something something. :D

Did that help?

I don't think any of us look down on Thai people, only people who post unsavoury or unreadable comments. :D

Thanks Scampy

I thought you would understand after reading your posting regarding

Rebirth etc :D

Please Please do not take offence :D

I find it hard to look down on anyone (5 ft 6ins in bare feet) :D

I have looked at a few of Pets Posting and all seem to be very negative :D

Overall Thai Visa is a very helpful and Informative site

I for one have learnt a lot, my thanks to all who give their time and expertise

Regards

7. still funny though.
b. spelling, grammar and punctuation are not prioritird for posting on an informal website as it is in the classroom. Atleast for me.

:D

I can see 'prioritird' (sic) as a typo. That's OK by me. We all do that sometimes.

'Edicate' isn't, by a long chalk. :o C'mon, how can that spelling be acceptable?

It reminds me of a social worker who wrote to me a while back saying he would release some papers to me 'now that they have been 'ennonnimised'!! <deleted>!!! He meant 'anonymised', of course, for those still struggling ...

I unfortunately am dislxeic, Disloxic, Disco :D

O BUM CAN'T SPELL :D

Can I now, not post on TV? :D

10. I am not scared of Thais. I usually find displaying arrogance but keeping quiet at the right time gets me out of trouble (touch wood eh).

I hope when you "touch wood", it is 4x2 :o

You will need something if you do not accept “Thai Way” :D

If you talk to people this way you will most certainly need it.

My time in Thailand with my wife's relatives and friends was a real shock.

Took me a long time to realise when they said I look like "Happy Buda" they where not being unkind or offensive about my weight.

Just saying what they see :D

OK, Maybe I am a little over weight comparable to other average Brits but Comparable to average Thai man I am very overweight.

When they comment on my White Skin etc I do not take offence, or how about blond hair, blue eyes etc etc

Please accept what they say in the spirit of how they say.

Move on Accept “THIS IS THAILAND”, There County, their way

ACCEPT, ENJOY THE COUNTRY, CULTURE & PEOPLE :D

Good Luck

11. We had the same problem, :o

Application made 25th April, We waited 2 weeks then my Wife telephoned the British Embassy and was given Date of Interview 9th August 4 days later received Letter to confirm, they had posted letter to wrong address!!

LONG TIME TO WAIT but I know they are very busy,

Now just have to be patient :D or at least try

Unfortunately she will be going on her own as I can not gain further time away from work but I will send "Up Dates" of Wages, E-Mails etc

Good Luck and all the best for the Interview

I am back in England so find it very hard.

Ivan

17. Simbo

I can only presume from your comments you are not married??

So maybe I am letting my self-open to silly comments but here goes!!

My Girl friend and I have known each other for over a year now and will be having a Buddhist blessing next week when I return to BKK.

(Leaving UK in 10 hours :o )

Then apply for a Visa for her and when granted she will live with me in England.

“If “ she is happy here we will marry and live in UK.

I have met her family, Brothers, Sister and MUM NO PROBLEM,

No mention of dowry!

BUT I will pay for family party after blessing,

Hope all goes well !!!

Anyone know how to apply for letter of freedom to marry please?

Happy Songkran to all

18. Domestic Violence in Pattaya, caught on tape.

Domestic violence in Pattaya is all too common and we often feature stories of injuries and even death caused by a domestic dispute. It is not often that we see evidence of the violence that occurs. Our cameraman stumbled upon this pair fighting in the street outside a restaurant in South Pattaya on Third Road. As you can see the woman is attempting to attack the man with a plank of wood.  :D We weren’t brave enough to approach the pair to find out the reason behind the attack but we can only guess that it was something to do with either money or another woman. In cases such as these which do not result in injury, Police tend not to intervene, compare this with other Police Departments around the world, some of which have dedicated Domestic Abuse Units who specialize in dealing with incidents such as these.

-Pattaya City News

As you can see the woman is attempting to attack the man with a plank of wood.

Is it just me who can not see?

Waiting for 9th and once again in BKK for Songkran :o

Good luck to all

Ivan
