Why not. Makes people happy.  What I really think is between me and the maybe fictitious God. Certainly, people don't act like there's a God. I do believe that I stand naked before all humanity. What I do now, what I did in the past, what I do in the future, will be judged. 

Good idea. Plenty of customers I reckon. One of my most iconic moments was under the moon  on a beach, with my Thai girlfriend. I thought I'd been transmuted to heaven. 

Killing women and children is never good, the guys can look after themselves, acceptance of sudden death sort of comes with the territory, it defines us - old fashioned guy.

Not saying it's right, but this sorta stuff kinda comes with the territory if your a celebrity; unfortunately, it's also happening to everyday folk, which ain't so cool.

Echoing a famous quote about another conflict, I'm guessing China has "escalatory dominance" where Taiwan is concerned; Thailand would be well advised to distance itself from that particular conflict. 

Somebody is probably making a nice profit from all this.

I'll believe it when I next spend a day or two walking around BKK, and don't get a throat infection. Always intrigued me how I could smoke like a trooper with no problems, but a day or two in BKK would do for me every time; only happened in BKK, by the way, they sure have something special in the air there.

Culture plays a big role, excelling academically just isn't valued that much in Thai society.

If you don't like spicy you'll have a problem eating locally in Thailand.

I suppose it's good they make a fuss, however ineffectual any measures taken might be. Sends a message, mess with Farang women, and there will be consequences.

Maybe this guy knew what he was doing, maybe he didn't. Haven't had the inclination to go into all the gory details. I will only say that when I worked in a Thai school, and the girls put on a show (usually led by a katoey, incidentally), wearing makeup and stuff, they looked a hell of a lot older. Anyway, yeah, it's wrong, and the law should take its course, but such a lot of fuss and bother over a borderline case? Seems to me someone is trying to virtue signal, which is a joke, given we're talking about Pattaya. Love it or hate it, it ain't no Sunday school camp.

Females. There's a whole Tom/Femme scene here. Femmes are feminine women who are attracted to masculine presenting Toms. Having said that, I know of at least one Tom, a former motorcycle taxi driver (they do tend to go for masculine type occupations), who decided to work a bar in a tourist area. She presented, more or less, as female, and would screw foreign guys for money. How common that is, I don't know. I do know she remained a Tom at heart.

I'm guessing Germany has laws governing extraterritorial jurisdiction on child sex offences committed in Thailand, so once this guy was outed in such a public manner he was scr**ed.
