  1. You do understand that the "protected" area have almost no corals? They're just quickly put there by lazy people to look like they care about safety.

So what you're saying is 'dont come to thailand'

I am not saying don't come to Thailand at all, whether the people putting the safety markers in place are lazy or not, the cordoned off area is there as a safety measure.

Sent from my GT-I9003 using Thaivisa Connect App

Ok so if for some reason you went to visit the sisteen chapelle and they had put ropes in front of it outside saying that inside was unsafe to walk further. Would you and the rest of the world just stay outside? No, because those ropes would of been put in place by thai immigrants too lazy to go inside and scout for the real delimitation and you would not be able to see ANY of the beauty you paid to see and are entitled to see as a human being living on this planet.

The ropes are as stupid as those "red flags" when they are no waves/no current and plenty of sunshine.

  2. Going to the malaysian border makes no sense, 20hrs vs 6-8hrs for ranong.

Also if you plan ahead its only 600-800 baht + a little bit of fees for tickets to singapore(jetstar/tigerairways)

SG's airport is amazing and spending a fullday there is quite easy (and tasty: Carl's jr)

  3. I expect they will compensate the French guy at the going market rate, being as how its not his fault.

I think he should just consider him self lucky, not being made the scapegoat "loooook wat baad farang do to our beuatifuyl Thai nature"

And jailed for 5 years or something - but i do agree, that the scumbag Farang "real-estate-agent" that properly sold him the property, an knew about it and made his decent little 8-10% of the sales price....should be hanged from the nearest electric pole.

If thats his house and it is right next to Pak Nam seafood in phuket town. I can easily say that the land around it looks better and is cleaner than most close to the road thai national park lands.

Everytime i drive by i always enjoy looking at that side of the road even though the other side has a sea view(a bit hidden by ugly govt low housing towers)

If im wrong, there's a house that looks EXACTLY the same right next to paknam

  4. oh noes, the richest and most violent of phuket have to take a small paycut

I wont be able to sleep tonight

Glad you can sleep well. I am not rich nor violent but our company uses a lot of sand & profit margins are not as high as you might think. You may not want to build anything on Phuket but if you do it will cost a lot more now unless they get this sorted. Price of concrete is up by about 150 to 200 Baht/m3. The problem is even if the Phang Nga issue is resolved suppliers will most likely not reduce their prices back to the same level. The water truck guy we use has increased by 50 Baht per truck citing increase in diesel price so wait for all other materials to start increasing based upon the price of fuel. To be honest I have not noticed any major increase in diesel & I seem to recall it was more expensive a few years back.

If you were a gangster like the thai contractors you would be making millions per month in raw profit ;)

  5. I went to the new Sukishi at Tesco-lotus. I urge everyone not to waste their 300baht and to save a few day's wage and come up with 50baht extra for the yakuniku bbq place between Farang restaurant and Index. (amazing 350b unlimited buffet with large shrimps and other seafood/good quality beef and bacon and pretty decent sashimi, 120~ baht extra for unlimited beer)

Im a big lover for MK. I love the broth and the sauce is my favorite sauce in all of thailand and have failed for years to recreate it. Sukishi's suki buffet is extremely bland. You have 3 choice of broth which are tasteless and all the meat is obviously tasteless because its boiled(Appetizing bacon on the treys but tasteless after a good boil) The sauce is pretty decent though.

    It's basically a bad all-you-can-eat MK.

+'s are the many choice of fountain brevage, choice of having more than one broth per table - unlimited salmon sashimi -sushi - fried and tempura shrimp - garlic rice - ice cream and unlike MK you get full from all the meet you can have.

If they would add a small grill next to the boiler it would become quite attractive as the beef and bacon do seem to be of extremely good quality.

  6. Just for clarity, you are talking about Ranong and not Rayong aren't you? If you need to do a run this way, possibly better checking out the regular bus schedules, rather than the madness of the minivan hustle.

Dont know about that, everytime i have gone there i get stuck behind those large govt buses that drive in the oncoming traffic every time there's a 1 degree turn

  7. They usually have a limit on marked down items.. but yeah sometimes th ey dont and thais go nuts. A few months ago at Tesco there was a guy who brought a full on delivery truck to the front door and loaded it with all the coke 2 litter bottles that tesco had. must of been a couple thousands of them. All that for saving 2b/bottle
