  1. ...and just look at the second hand condo for sale you have your answer

a 5 year condo bought at 7 millions now at 3.2....

Where do you take this example from? Which condo?

I know a few guys who have sold at lost, but 15% or 20% at worse,

    certainly not a 55% loss !!!

Look everywhere where there's add for secondhand condos even here on TV,more you pay more you lose because after a couple of years everything broke down or slow down, the big problems is the maintenance the staffs most are unqualified to do the jobs, from electric to elevator to sewer to water.....and certainly the balcony......I know a Danish guy in Hua Hin who paid 3.4 millions for his condo 4 years ago now it's been for sale since November at 2.6 many visits but no offers, the condo in perfect condition but the problems is the amenities of the building mostly everything is going rundown....

  2. Never i've rent many 5 stars so called condo, and what I seen confirm what others told me before, look good at first but when you look at quality details, wow big problems....The list is so long...and just look at the second hand condo for sale you have your answer a 5 year condo bought at 7 millions now at 3.2....

  3. It would be nice if Thailand had a Western neighbourhood somewhere, something like Chinatown.

    They have - it's called Pattaya smile.png

What i like about Pattaya is the foreign restaurants (even Indian, Lebanese or whatever) and that they speak better english than Bangkokians.

If Bangkok had a Western neighbourhood it would also attract many Thai to learn english,hygiene/butchering/medical/safety/efficiency/high quality and so on. But since Westerners are not allowed to work here it will never happen.

The Thai like to build small villages in Western Style (like in Khao Yai area) but they can't produce the same atmosphere/quality there, no matter how hard they try.

If there was a nice Western neighbourhood (not only nightlife like in Pattaya) it would even attract many extra tourists from neighbouring Asian country's.

With the proper visa you can work in Thailand....

No you cant...no visa allows you to work in Thailand...only a work permit allows you work in Thailand

You know what I want to say please stop playing with the words lollll

  5. hey alex marrying an aussie bush pig,,thankfully is one mistake that i didnt make,,mind you marrying a thai girl who only thinks about somtam everyday doesnt smell thatgood either

Ive yet to meet a Thai woman that can hold down a full time job, raise a family, cook every night, lunches for the kids every day for school, and i won't mention breakfasts, clean a house thats 1/3 the size of a modern Aussie home and keep there man happy as well as catch up with the girl friends every now and then.

I speak with some knowledge on this subject.

You can bag the aussie girl as much as you like but there a lot more hard working than any Thai girl I've ever known...

Get out of the bar zone you'll see some hardworking women....

  8. Hey elgordo38, any chance in you being able to post a picture or some pictures of the house? I personally would love to see it, also may I ask if your friend is Thai? I would assume so since you mentioned that friends were doing her labor for her. I like the idea of recycling materials to do a project like her. If someone had some land that they could use to store materials for a few years while they searched it out prior to doing the building itself could be a big time money saver. Plus personally I prefer aged quality materials more than a lot of the newly manufactured stuff they sell new now. Like you I would pass on the asbestos containing materials but I would be open to using some nice older style roofing or shingles.

My friend is an American the lady is his friend and is a Thai teacher. It impressed the hell out of me but I have learned in life never to take things at face value. Thanks for your "reasonable interested" reply some are really outrageous and well the word stupid comes to mind. The secret I think is to have whoever is building your house to be on the lookout for recycled materials as they are more tuned in to the wrecking/recycle market if there is one here. Its a booming industry in the Western world. Being the workers were family friends this was possible. Her father provided the land.

As you said family support is important, and the main thing is the future owner are happy with this house that's it.....Too bad for rooftop but thanks for sharing this............
