  1. I have not been able to dial an Aussie "13" number from Thailand. Your only possibility for those numbers is to use a VoIP service based in Australia.
  2. Are you dialling 66 26326611 or +66 26326611 Yes, in Thailand you should be able to drop the "+66" - but you need to substitute that with a "0" i.e. 02 6326611 The "001..." might be a US number, but "toll free". Not sure how that would work if you are using a Thai carrier. The number that you have there is for their Frequent Flyer Line but you might also want to try +1 800 6114797 or failing that: 001 800 611 4797 That number was shown on their AU website. Keep in mind their hours are shown as 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (except public holidays). Allow for time differences. Yesterday was Anzac day in Australia, so that might explain your issues.
  3. Most people already subscribe to carry a tracking device in their pockets.
  4. Survey: What's the first thing that you do in the morning? instagram_1713425097046.mp4
  5. By "cement" most people actually mean concrete. Cement is one of the key components in concrete. For the record, most modern high rise buildings structurally use steel & glass exteriors. Concrete may be often used in the compression members for the lower stories of multi-story buildings.
  6. No one is forcing anyone to eat plant based meat-substitutes. But likewise no-one can deny that the vegan & vegetarian market is huge and continuing to grow. India alone has about 185 Million vegans. FWIW - I love my meat too much to ever consider going full Vegetarian. But that's not to say that I can't enjoy a vegetarian meal and I find the new meat-substitutes have excellent taste & texture. Until a few years ago they didn't compete - now there's almost nothing to differentiate the real & the faux product. Some people may not even pick the difference in a blind taste test.
  7. Dare I say it... I was close.
  8. If by "solid" you mean rugged, then I highly recommend you look beyond the top half-dozen brands. Consider either the Doogee R-series or one of the Ulefone Armor Pad tablets. Mid-range pricing, but based on the specs excellent value for money. I've had both brands as rugged-style mobiles so can't 100% vouch for the tablets - but it would be worthwhile checking out a few reviews. My recommendation is for the Ulefone. AFAIK Doogee still haven't sorted out their after-sales support.
  9. Pacsafe sell them directly in 3 sizes: 55 litres, 85 litres & 120 litres. I think I sourced mine on eBay since they aren't cheap new - but the quality is there. They've lasted years so far, albeit only modest use when there wasn't a safe available. Not sure about Lazada. They might have some cheaper knockoffs, but I'd be making sure it was stainless steel wire - for at least some basic cutting resistance.
  10. I highly doubt that he can't contact the owner prior to completing the booking. Airbnb just doesn't work like that. More likely that he doesn't know how to or forgot. Anyway FWIW when travelling I use one of these portable stainless steel mesh & cable backpack-sized security bags together with a good quality padlock. They roll up into a small space (when not in use) and can be secured to almost anything. Nothing is going to stop a determined thief, but this will slow them down and probably avert a snatch & grab type situation.
  11. Gotta pay somehow.... rHolUp.mp4
  12. Nothing personal, but I found Nick's video a little disjointed with a lot a of irrelevant B-footage without context and the absence of maps. My only outtake could have been summed up in 30 seconds: "Yes, there were plans. They were disrupted by COVID. There are still plans but we don't know when or where." I have more questions now than I did before watching the video.
  13. Pattaya Beach Road has had 1-way traffic for many years. Is she meaning Jomtien Beach Road?
  14. AN badly needs a "Groan" emoji. My "confused" reaction is the closest one possible.
  15. My understanding is that Thailand only counts deaths before they reach the hospital in their official road toll. That being the case, you can expect a fair % of the 1,837 succumbing to their injuries but not appearing in those stats. The "real" death toll might be up to double the official numbers.
  16. I don't. There are far to many shysters around acting dishonestly and causing losses & grief for others, for governments to simply turn a blind eye. As with food vendors, all it takes is a minority to spoil it for everyone. What is more likely is increasing regulation & supervision - and of course that will also result in the revenue (tax) net widening. The best we can hope for is a clear pathway for regulation and consistent enforcement to provide a more level playing field for those doing the right thing.
  17. Just as an update to the thread, it seems that the DOPA review is still ongoing. Airbnb have sent a further email communication asking for input by way of survey (just a couple of minutes long). It's all self-interest of course, but this seems to be a better way to gauge overall sentiment collectively from owners rather than multiple solo submissions - probably in Thai language.
  18. Looking at the video I think he left his MAGA cap at home, so he had to pretend he was from somewhere else. I have no idea how he would have pulled off the German accent, but the sheer level of aggression would have given him away. Germans can be pedantic & sometimes argumentative - but sadly the level of hostility is not at the same endemic levels as the US. With an election due later this year, it will only get worse.
  19. There's a good chance that most components in those MBs weren't even "Made in Germany". German design & specification maybe. The rest....? To quote: hmmmmmmm It's the same for most manufacturers worldwide.
  20. @Georgealbert Thanks for those links. The second one is paywalled, but the point you make is clear. It seems that (in the short term) the effect on Boeing is on their production, not necessarily sales. 111 Boeing sales in March is significant, but 85 of that number is a single B737 MAX 10 order from American Airlines. In that instance AA also placed orders for 85 x Airbus A321Neo and 90 x Embraer E175 aircraft as part of their modernisation program. Also as part of that Boeing order, AA has upgauged 30 existing 737 MAX 8 orders to B737 MAX 10 aircraft.
  21. If you scroll up a bit you'll note that I qualified my %s pointing out that they are subjective. So fine. In your case the %s might be something like: #1 98% #2 1% #3 1% Each to his own. As the AU FF survey pointed out, there is a split in preferences - and Australians have some of the longest flights in the world. 5 different routes are in the top 20 globally. And maybe it's because I'm used to it. I have a job where I need be standing for most of my shift - and whilst thankfully not so common, a 10 or 12 hour (or more) stint can be on the cards. Hence if there's a lie-flat option then that doesn't necessarily mean I'll still pay 4½ times the Economy fare - just for that feature in isolation. For me little things like being addressed by my name, small talk and the things I don't even notice like lighting and cabin air pressure all contribute to a "good" experience. They add value. So does being able to relax in a lounge before the flight.
  22. Airbus Beats Boeing for Deliveries in 2024 Boeing’s deliveries of commercial aircraft have faltered in the first three months of the year, according to the company’s reports, published yesterday. The U.S. aircraft manufacturer delivered just 83 planes in Q3, down from 130 in the same three-month period of last year. In the meantime, its sole major competitor, Europe’s Airbus, saw an uptick in Q1, having delivered 142 of their planes, marking an increase from their Q1 2023 figure of 127.
