It's a good thing. The less control the government has the better. It's better to practice caution than have power that could be abused.
Ok troll, thanks for coming, NOT

I disagree with the sentiment of your post. The very fact that no one was hurt means it should be treated differently, and I have no problem with how the matter was resolved. The Uncle is not a mass murdering psycho - which is the approach you are advocating Thailand adopt - as we do in Aust. If anyone was hurt or he was driving a truck that is different, and that is what your 'system' advocates. I like the 'flexibility' of the Thai system whereby the person who has been infringed against has a say in what happens. The Uncle has lost his bike and paid a small fine and apologised - no harm to others, no foul. But if he was driving a truck and had hurt/killed someone, he would not be able to get away so lightly at all. Well - I would like to think so. But either way I prefer the Thai system.
Wow, Do you have serious mental issues? <deleted>

I have to go in 2 days. I’ve been told that as of this moment they are still enforcing fines for overstay..
if these cowboys end up testing positive surely that’s the last straw. People’s health is more important. I am sh***ing myself thinking about going there in 2 days being so close to thousands of different nationalities.
when’s this announcement about foreigners potentially being allowed to stay until June 30?
as long as they die rich, is all they care about. LMAO

It may not affect the immigration office, but I'm glad my extension isn't due until November.
How doesn't it affect them? Explain to me how. This will be good LOL

I'm just going to deny all handshake offers moving forward, no compelling reason for us to shake hands. Maybe offer an elbow bump if I really like the person.

Anyone care to explain what border runners on Non O marriage do now?
Im puzzled with the information coming out.
same, were you told to get some stupid letter from your embassy? even though you're married to a Thai national.

Thank you, lopburi3. Much appreciated. I need to bring my wife with me to immigration?
for a 60 day extension? absolutely not! you pay 1,900 baht. don't listen to these guys.
Email from Siam legal today.
You have 2 options:
1. You make a border trip in April to get a new 90-day stamp. If this is
not possible, please proceed to option 2.
2. You go to your local immigration office and request for a temporary
60-day extension for having Thai wife. -

If you have a Thai wife or child, you can apply for a 60 day extension of any NON O entry
What office did you do this through?

Personally I'm planning to extend a 90 day permission to stay based on marriage (before it expires in May) at KK, by another 60 days. I'm hoping that will still be possible. Regards
(Apologies for distracting from Welshpete's original thread)
Why should it be any different from any other extension? Corona Virus or not.
