I can't decide who is more credible:
The deputy finance minister mentioning the words "competent" and "honest" in the same sentence.
Or the slapper I met at Cowboy last night who told me she was "lady bar" only since Monday. -
Good on Netflix for not kowtowing to censorship
if Turkey, or certain parts of the Muslim world for that matter,
can't be tolerant of different orientations, they are free to remain in the Stone Age.

Didn't realise that incompetence is regarded as a capability

Nothing wrong with asking a public opinion.
Something the alpha male monkey in the US should have done...
You fail to understand that it is all for show.
Principles of Thai Management 101 -Lets gather all our serfs together to hear their voices and opinions.
It makes them feel empowered and we can show the rest of the world,
that we are a democracy and listen to the voice of the people - win-win
It's a dictatorship - do you really think they give a toss about anyone else's opinions?

On the back of monkeys and cheap, undocumented migrant labor?
Forget about it.- 1

Maybe there are a few farang monkeys in the fold too.
Do they all have work permits?

You were perfectly within your right to question the discrepancy in price.
Just change bars - simple as that.
With bars hurting as much as they are right now, it is their loss, not yours,no need to squabble over 50 baht - just walk on out.

The real question is if the friend should pay the remainder of the debt.
If he doesn't have the cash, he doesn't have the cash.
How is the friend's relationship with the wife?If it is less than stellar, let the wife deal with the headache - it is in her name, after all.

To be fair, management incompetence in the airline industry is not new.
The HK govt recently announced a USD 4 billion bailout package for Cathay,
who have also been circling the drain for some time.
If 5% of THAI employees will be let go,
maybe at least 10-15% will be put on unpaid leave for the near future.

I don't think the consulates with be granting Type-C visas or even accepting applications at this time.
People who have existing long-stay (Type D-work) visas as still enter Schengen with no problems.
Best to wait it out for a month or two more - Schengen borders are still in flux.

Incomplete and ambiguous reporting as usual.
It is more pertinent to know what is the tech behind the driver-less car itself.
Is it truly autonomous or just "driver-less"?
Huawei is probably providing just the network backbone,
but what about the AI controlling the car?
If it is being remotely piloted by a human, then back to square one - still a Somchai in control.

People fail to realize that this has nothing to do with marijuana.
He didn't have a WP and was taking away a job reserved for Thai's.

Besides 3 un-interrupted extensions of stay, and paying taxes for 3 years,
there is a salary requirement:
1) 50,000 THB/month, if married to Thai national
2) 80,000 THB/month, if single/married to a foreigner
If you satisfy the salary requirements and the 3 continuous extensions, you're good to go.
Otherwise, better not to bother applying for PR.

What the title means is that they gradually funnelled 200 billion baht worth of drug money through the cash flows of multiple jewellery shops.
Obviously this was over a period of time,
but the total assets at the time of seizure were worth 70 million baht.

The wealthy go to Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, New York City, Berlin among others -
they wouldn't be concerned in the least about Thailand.

It is unclear as to why you insist on getting involved - is the girl a former lover/ex-wife?
Or maybe your intentions are honest, but you're naive and stupid.
Either way, turn around run, and don't look back - you can thank us all later.
-
I think the OP has purposely convoluted his question to increase ambiguity about his financial state.
What does "I am unable to pay my massive credit card bills due to covid" mean?
Any defaulter running around with 6 credits cards, deserves to have their personal assets seized - starting with the car!

If you've already parted with the 1 million,
consider it a gift to your theerak and let that be a lesson.
Fat chance you will get the deposit back if the relationship goes awry.
If you still haven't parted with the cash, now is the time to raise the discussion with her.
It will be the perfect litmus test for how strong your relationship really is -Say you want 50% ownership of the condo and if she disagrees/gets angry, walk and don't look back.

Despite the disdain that Thai's have for people of color,
a Thai teamed up with a Nigerian would be a scam-making match made in heaven

1 hour ago, Eric Loh said:I don't see the new security law as a violation of the Basic Law. The new security law is included as an annex to the basic law and nothing in the Basic Law has been deleted including Article 27. Article 27 is still very much intact that declared that Hong Kong citizens shall have freedom of speech, of the press and of publication, freedom of association, of assembly, of procession and of demonstration, and the right and freedom to form and join trade unions and to strike.......... The right of peaceful assembly shall be recognized. The new law would make criminal any act of secession, subversion, terrorism and activities by foreign forces that interfere in Hong Kong. They are targeted at matters that every country will be concerned with.
IMHO I don't think China aimed to be a superpower but want to co-exist with others. In this new era, no one country can dominate as super power. China is only interested to deliver to their people and keep the country intact after years of internal wars that split the country for centuries.
Spoken like a true puppet.
This supposed security law is basically lipstick on a pig.
The extradition bill didn't fly, so the commies decided to give it another go & dressed it up as a "security law".
Although, legal clauses are open to different interpretations, the Basic Law is mostly black and white.
Either you are clamping down on freedom of speech or you are not.
Either you are upholding One Country Two Systems or you are not - simple as that.

HongKongers are not going to go down without a fight.
Unfortunately, it is a lose-lose scenario for them at the end of the day - pity.
The only chance they have is international and/or diplomatic pressure from rest-of-the-world:
the commies have managed to pick fights with just about everyone - US, Canada, Australia, EU and recently, India as well.
I see more sanctions and more tariffs, especially with US elections around the corner.
