I took a 150cc rented PCX up Doi Ang Khang a while back, frankly it could barely cope (the road is very steep in places though) all the locals seem to use 125 honda semi autos, they can go up anything.

Been up there... locals do it....yep....I would not...unless I had some power.

I used a 125 cc kawasaki kmx to climb up to baguio, (philippines). My lady and two backpacks.

Never, ever again. At high elevations, in traffic, it overheated often. That was on top. Going up was painfully slow, and going down our brakes overheated. Swelled up and failed. It rained on the downhill run and we were stuck behind a slow moving truck.

Don't do it unless you have some power...and great brakes. My Yamaha Serow (225) was a bit better at climbing. With the 125, if you slow down on an incline, you never regain your momentum. The 225 maintained.

Thanks. I have not arrived in Samui yet. Right now we just want to gather information. We are taking some advice from the mod (he posted earlier), and may arrive there before September instead of waiting until January (when our current lease expires)

We are thinking about a move there too, before at the very end of this year. We will pack up the car with my computers and large screen tv's and do the long drive/ferry. If we find a place, My wife will go back to Udon (alone) and rent a truck for our pack up. I won't worry much, as our stuff is not expensive or delicate. The place I have now is only 2500, and I might just consider keeping it, as well, just to store the stuff we don't need in Samui. I would like to go light. We have the option of coming back, if things don't pan out.

It looks about as expensive as you want it to be. I had a huge 4 bedroom house for 5000 baht a month in Chiang Mai. Moved to Udon six months ago (lived here before), and we are not so thrilled about staying here for much longer. We enjoy living in a fairly quiet location, and would not mind Samui (As long as we are out of earshot of the nightlife)

From what I remember, there are reasonable rents, if you look hard enough. Longer leases are better deals. An older home within a 15 minute drive to Lamai would be fine. I would expect 10,000 for a 2 bedroom...but I am sure there are cheaper (looked online). The best deals are not advertised...just need to have the wife ask around. A bit North of Lamai is fine.

Five years is a long time ago, but I remember there was plenty of decent priced restaurants. Plenty of farang food. Not sure about electricity, cable, wifi....but it should be about the same.

I would be quite happy with it...for a few years. Not looking to stay longer than that. I am not much of an outgoing person nowadays. A good meal with a beer on the beach is ok. Not interested in hanging out at the "buy me drink" places. Live Music is ok....even just a singer and a guitar. Walks near the beach, gym, and lots of quiet time is good. Number one is a membership where there is a gym/pool at one of the resorts. When we find that, we will live nearby.

It's all the "buzz" in the media.

The FBI has been "Wanting" to schedule the "Interrogation" to finish off this "Criminal Investigation" ....for quite a while.

The FBI does not "Want" to do this with Trump.

Being "Wanted" does not mean she is on the FBI's "10 most Wanted List". I do bet there are more than a few people in Government (and the FBI) that would not mind getting a "feather in their cap" for presenting sufficient evidence on Hillary....enough for her "Prosecution" and "Removal" from the Democratic Ticket.

Seems like she has upset quite a few people in Washington (and the White House). Secret Service has plenty of info on that.

Basically....any Law abiding citizen, member of the Secret Service, and honest FBI agent ....despises Hillary.

At least the FBI were able to question Hillary for 3 & 1/2 hours. The press have yet to have their questions answered in a press conference this year. Hillary is not public accessible and hides in her pool of shame.

Interesting that this criminal interrogation by the country's top law enforcement agency (the FBI) occurred on Saturday during the 4th of July weekend. Done purposely on this date to downplay its importance. Most Americans are enjoying the long holiday and will not care about the news until a least Tuesday, given a chance that most of its importance will blow over by then. Just like corrupt Hillary's debates with Bernie, always scheduled on dates which guaranteed the lowest viewership.

We don't even know the names of the people nominated for the Electoral College. From what I remember, they are anonymous to the public. There is no crime if they vote the other way (although they will never be trusted again).

She's running for President. If she is not elected President, these charges would disappear faster than Swift Boat accusations. It's well known that the GOP is a dirty political outfit who are not above lying and cheating to attack their political opponents. Unfortunately for them, Trump is such a disaster of a candidate and thoroughly miserable human being that there will not be a Republican President for some time.
