I haven't received any mail in the 8 years I've been in Phuket. Never even crossed my mind to send or receive mail here as I assumed it would be futile exercise.

I generally wear the mask on top of my head, like a kippah (a Jewish cap), unless I'm in a public place or within 2 metres of a stranger. I tried wearing it on my chin, but the sweaty chin got a bit annoying after a while, and it rubbed my stubble.
I've been stopped by the old bill several times recently in the car, and they were quite happy that I was wearing the face mask as a hat, and even gave me the thumbs up.
Completely useless, other than the fact that my lip balm and hair gel now cross paths and serve a dual purpose.
(and yes, I am Jewish, but that's not the point obviously)

What a load of <deleted>. Most of my mates had it, (what appears to now be the bat flu), in January and February.
Some of my mates had it pretty bad and actually went to the doctor! Couple of panadol and sent home.
Let's not wreck the economy shall we?
Oops, to late. Thanks to the media, and our friends to north who caused this.

Not true. The only countries that you need an IDP in addition to your own national driver's licence (assuming it's in English), is Japan, Taiwan, Monaco, and a small handful of maybe five others that you'd probably never go to anyway. The big one that catches people out is Japan. It caught me out several years back, so I always have a current IDP when I go there. Never been asked for it anywhere else and I've rented cars all over the world.

Hello, did a search on the forum but no joy.
Can anyone tell me what documents I need to give my friend who I'm selling my scooter to so he can go and register it in his name? I've given him the green (blue?) book but that's it. Is there a form I need to sign or anything?
Many Thanks,
FC

I'd say Index, across from Tesco/HomePro on the bypass.

G'day all,
Appreciate any advice on places that rent dirt bikes (250cc and up), preferably in the Chergntalay/Bang Tao/Surin/Thalang/Heroines area.
Thanks in advance,

And, does anyone recommend going up to Phang Na for the renewal as opposed to Phuket Town?
-
Hello All,
(sorry, didn't read through ALL the posts on this thread)
So to be clear - are the requirements for the renewal of a 1 year Thai DL the same as a 5 year???
So the same documents required as the kind member posted on post 1 of page 1 of this thread?
Or are there additional requirements?
Thanks,
FC

Does anyone know if there is any particular hassle if you let your Thai DL expire by a few weeks before you renew it? (we'll be going to the UK for a month over Xmas and can't be bothered to renew it before we leave as we're running out of time...)
As soon as it expires, do you have to sit the test all over again, or is it a simple renewal/paperwork exercise?
Also, I've heard that going up to Phang Na is less of a hassle than doing the renewal in Phuket Town? Does anyone have any experience with this and/or know where the Licensing office is up there?
Thanks in advance,
FC

OK, sounds good, but where would you get the bulbs from in that case?
Where's Halfords when you need it?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a place north of the Heroines (preferably Cherngtalay/Thalang) area, that they think might sell/repair light bulbs for a car (CRV).
The interior light packed up, and it's not the fuse as far as I can see.
Tried Honda at the Heroines, but need to leave it there for hours, which seems ridiculous for a 5 minute repair.
Any ideas greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
FC

This is insane!
Myself and my Hong Kong expat buddies are evacuating back to Hong Kong this week to escape the pollution.... which is the reason we came to Phuket in the first place!
Insanity!

Preferably somewhere they speak some English.. And in an ideal world in the Chergntalay area..

On the floor above Central Food Hall at Central Festival, behind the dozens of mobile phone shops in the northwest corner, are a few very good camera shops..
