  1. I dont know how they do it in Siberia, but here in Thailand, nobody living in kickback land is going to listen to a farang, or a whole bunch of farangs. The beach project is already going, and nothing is going to change it, except maybe taking a little break, for a few years. Sure, the beach will wash away, we know that, and maybe even they know that, but then that will be another project for another family member. Lets see what happens once the rainy season gets going, im guessing beach road will be flooded like before, and half the promenade will wash away. Blame it on the extra heavy rains, that no one could foresee.

I cant wait for the Sukhumvit under pass to get started, that will be much more fun, that the beach project. Maybe some enterprising Thai will have a boat service, to ferry people across the flooded Suk.

  2. There is more of a problem if not registered in Chonburi, but if you buy something at Collinbourne, then they will guide you with the paperwork. I dont know about the Big C auctions, but just guessing, you might be going out on a limb, if you buy there, unless your a bike buyer, and have done it often.

  3. I am going to take a chance on this one. Silpaban, on Pattaya Klang is a shop where you can find just about everything. I wont try to give directions, except heading out to Suk, its on the left side, about half way, since like all Thai shops, they are well hidden, but once you find it, it will surprise you on the amount of office and art supplies they have, and good prices. They had a fire about a year ago, so things might have changed a bit, but this is just a suggestion.

  4. Try Collinbourne Auction house, on Soi Chaiyapruk 2, on the East side of Suk. They have about 20 bikes every Saturday, all in running order, and not bad prices. Most are smaller bikes, and a few big bikes. Check out the web site. There are pics of the bikes, starting sometime Thursday.

  5. The buses are good, and have taken Bell many times. But now, I have to be at the airport before 6am, so what is a reliable alternative, I live on the deep dark side. I dont want to take a chance on using several modes, and if one is not on time, then I might miss the flight. I hate the thought of mini buses, but seems like I might have to take a chance. Are there any mini buses that have a regular airport service, and pick up service, at an early hour, (4am)?

  6. I really dont think anyone of us have a direct link to the police, so how can we really say how many baht buses get in wrecks, and how bad they were, same with motorbike wrecks. It isnt all in the newspaper or TV, so where do people come up with all these FACTS?

The fact is, most of us have seen wrecks, almost every day, and very few are in the paper.

  7. No, they are not all profitable, but even though they change hands dozens of times, we do not see the change, so we think its the same owner, and wonder how they survive. Yes, they have lots of customers, but how much do the customers buy? One beer and a sandwich does not make a lot of profit. Same with the bars, we dont see the ownership changing, just see the bar, and wonder how it survives. Also lots of bars being sold, so we can either think its not doing good business, or lots of customers want a bar that is making money. The truth is, they are not making money, and once the charm of owning a bar wears off, and the owner realizes its not making money, it goes up for sale. Then another chump comes along, with great ideas, and buys it. Never ending circle.

  8. Sounds like a situation, where people get in credit card debt, and have to have more cards, to pay off the other cards. Just getting by with paying the interest, and then finally, the cards come crashing down, and its bankruptcy. Easy to understand this happening to a person with a 5th grade education, and cant do the math. Apparently, math isnt the strong point of this government!
