  1. My son is studying in Canada and he is only visiting each 6 months for a few weeks. 2 to 3 bedrooms are a must. I intend to go to Chiang Mai, take an hotel in the center to get a feel of the city and the environment. I bet that there are many TV members with the same intentions to leave bangkok and try something new.

I have lived in the same apartment in Bangkok for 34 years, Sathorn area, and my wife is pushing, begging, pleading for a house with garden... I am generally happy to reside not too far from the nightlife action. Can you also recommend an hotel for less then 1200 Baht near where I can have my daily pint of beer in a nice bar?

I am on a working schedule of one month in Thailand and one month outside Thailand, I will certainly visit Hand Dong as suggested above, is it safe as my wife will be by herself most of the time?

I ruled out townhouse with no air circulation as generally one end is completely closed. I like windows and sun light, the reason I asked for a house. I would also consider a condo in town for security sake. Thank you for all your help, it is greatly appreciated.

  2. I would like to rent a house in Chiang Mai or suburb. Furnished or not. The idea is to move to Chiang Mai and see if I would like to live there. My budget is no more than 12,000 Baht/month. We are 3 in the family, wife, son and myself. However, if suburb, not too far from city, I do not like to drive during the night due to low vision...

Maybe renting a condominium at that price would be better?

I intend to fly to Chiang Mai for a holiday and look around in the very near future. If someone could indicate an area for starting the search would be nice. Do you have any advice on how to proceed after going to an hotel in Chiang Mai? Is it advisable to contact an estate agent?

  3. I always get more than 13 hours of use with my Apple mini ipad with WIFI always on and occasionally 3G on. The rest of the time I leave it on standby, more than 26 hours. I am very satisfied with this mini ipad but I hate Apple management software and synchronisation via itune. I am generally a Windows user but now forced to use Apple due to the quality of their product. My main objection with Apple is the absence of a "My Document" type of storage.

  4. Windows 8 is different from Windows 7.

I cannot find an update driver for my Linksys extender R1000 for Windows 8 and I recently had a work related remote training using Citrix which also would not install on Windows 8. Windows 8 was built for touch screens, why then force it to us all on computers with a normal display screen? In my opinion, Microsoft has forced us all to buy in their gimmick by installing Windows 8 on ALL computers.

Now I am waiting for the next OS to correct those problems.

  5. Friend of mine just told me she moved somewhere very close by. This was just last week. Think he said she was on the opposite side, but I'll check. I bet the Villa employees know.

We have both been buying her sheets for years.

If you could find out where she is now would be great. I have been buying from her for quite some time and I go to Villa quite often. I have asked near Villa but when thai cannot anwer to a phalang, they go giggly and only smiled...

  6. My usual Indian bed sheets shop has disappeared from the side of Villa Market on Sukhumvit road. Does anybody knows where it has moved or have any idea where I can buy hotel type pure cotton white bed sheets? I know that Central Dept. store and Robinson have bed sheets but I am looking for pure white cotton not silky texture bed sheets.

  7. I want to buy the new 13" Samsung notebook 900X3C-A05 with Processor / Chipset Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 3517U (1.90 GHz, 4 MB L3 Cache)

Intel HM75, 256GB Solid-state Drive. Why the 256GB SSD model is not available in Thailand?

Any idea how I can obtain this product in Bangkok? However it is available in HK. Otherwise i am going 13" Macbook Retina and leave Windows all together, I hesitate to pay 66900 Baht + 8500 = 75,400 Baht for a Mac with only a Duo processor...
