    One of my favorite:
You're driving down the road.  A car is parked in the opposite lane.  An oncoming car traveling in that lane pulls into your lane to pass the parked car with the intention that you'll get out of your lane, the you'll pull of onto the shoulder, or if there isn't enough room, you'll drive your car into the ditch to let him by - or else - he'll ram you head on.  It's suicidal but it happens all of the time.  A typical Western reaction is to slow down behind the parked car, allow the oncoming car to pass, and then pass the parked car when the opposite lane is clear.  That just doesn't happen here.  The fools will pull right into your lane to pass the parked car in their own lane and they are willing to smash into you in a head-on collision if you don't get out of their way.

Well - there is a reason why Thailand routinely is labeled as having "The Most Dangerous Roads In The World."

This happens all the time but they usually flash their lights to let you know to slow down and move off the road as they will not let you stay on the road while they pass the parked car and will not slow down or stop. The other one that happens all the time is they move to your side of the road on right hand turns in the road, rather than stay on their side they cut the corner because its easier for them, I have had to swerve several times over the years to avoid a head on, they will use the other lane(s) on roads to cut corners rather than slow down even on multi lane highways. They also do this if there is a puddle of water on their side of the road, they just swerve to your side to go around it with no indicator or slowing down, lost a mirror to one that did it, they just kept driving and never stopped, the thai mentallity is  they can do what ever they please on the roads and everyone else has to let them, even motor bike riders have the same mind set but this is Thailand so its to be expected another reason my wife drives most times

  2. Pita was the best thing that could have happened to  Thailand if he was allowed to do  as he was elected to do, unfortunately when you have a judiciary that makes their decisions  based entirely on who can offer them the most the real truth will never emerge. Last thing those that are currently in power want is an honest political party/prime minister that are there for the people and not the rich & powerful, nothing else can be expected from a country that runs on graft and corruption

I agree we all know the difference it’s on the face of it a rediclous subject but it does feed the angst of the rabble.

most of the rabble realizes that this has nothing to do with being gay, it is a mental condition and the trans community have ruined what the LGB community has been doing for many years. There is nothing wrong with being gay, I have had many gay friends over many years and they have all been great people, there is also nothing wrong with those that want to be more feminine and do so without involving others. The problem is with the trans people that expect to be able to get all the same privileges as real women, be able to use female bathrooms etc and enter female sports etc, they are making a mockery of real women/girls as they are MEN and refuse to accept they are mentally damaged while running down the actual females. Anyone that supports men being called women are also mentally damaged as it is physically impossible for them to actually be a female.

With a spear like the one I made after having two snakes - at different times - come into our house.

If another one comes in I'm ready to welcome it.

mine is a multi prong head on a long pole, only had to use it once so far but our worker has used it a couple of times. Dogs were going nuts at midnight last night in the area it was in but couldnt see anything, thais have told us it is mating/egg laying season for snakes and as there is a very big bamboo clump maybe 4 metres from the fence it could explain it

  5. This is needed due to the ignorance of many thai drivers/road users, should not be a maybe but a will be charged with murder as they are knowingly blocking an ambulance in an emergency, ambulances need to be fitted with bull bars so they can drive/ram  through the ignorant mongrels that deliberately block them.  Trouble is too many thai road users think they are allowed to do as they please especially seeing the police refuse to enforce road regulations, way past time the ignorant ones were made to pay.

I can guarantee that this King Cobra will not 'attack' and eat your wife, daughter and most likely not be interested in your dogs.

Cobras (like most snakes) are not aggressive, rather they are defensive. They will only threaten you if they feel threatened themself.

A big snake like that is easy to see - just give it a wide berth and everyone can co-habit happily.

It is probably benefitting you living there - as King Cobras are known for mainly predating on other snakes.

If you feel that the area is not big enough for you all - may I respectfully suggest you contact a local snake-catcher or similar to catch this snake so it can be safely removed and repatriated to a less popiulated area.

hopefully it will not come back into our yard area, this is the first time in 4 years since we built the house etc it has done it. We were aware of the sighting of the big king cobra at our other block a short distance away but not here. I have already ordered a smaller galvanized mesh to put on the outside of our current fence so it will not be able to come through the current fence again, unfortunately the factthe  thais that have bought the blocks as investments  do not want keep their vacant blocks cleared doesnt help, spending money on them out of the question although a few other blocks that have been bought are cleared every so often but the 2 in question havent been touched in 4 years, the one behind us was cleared when we first built the house but not since. The area it was in is a smaller area where we have a few trees and vegetables growing  so the dogs are there when they are out of their kennel area, they will be defencive if they see it and I do not want them to be bitten by it, this means my only choice will be to defend them so I am hoping this was a one off incident due to the heavy rain we have recently had that would hve flooded the area it came from

  7. Yesterday afternoon our neighbour called my wife and told her he just saw a very big king cobra come through our side fence, I grabbed the snake catcher and the big spear and went over to the area he was standing near with a very long pole. I searched the area and found nothing so it must have gone back  out through our back fence into the vacant land behind us.  Our worker showed up and the neighbour said the snake was longer than the width of the road so at least 5 metres and he said it only just fit through the 10cm/4" mesh fence. Our worker has also seen a very big king cobra crossing our other land not far away so maybe the same one, the land behind us is not taken care of and the grass etc is very tall, we have the worker brush cut 2 plus metres besides our land  as a buffer, when the owner first bought it he said he was chased by a very large cobra  so again maybe the same one. Unfortunately I will have no choice but to try to kill it if it cames back as my wife & daughter plus our dogs are my first priority, I do have 2cm mesh along all but 6 metres of the back fence(this is where it would have gone out) so I will now finish the back and do the outside of the side fence as well with the small mesh to stop any fom getting through. The area it came from is vacant land across from the back of the side fence, there is around  4 metres of it opposite our side fence directly behind the neighbours land that is well maintained that the owner also never takes care of(actually never seen them near it in 4 years) plus it is lower so with all the rain has water in most of it, in the west land owners are required to keep their land near other houses clean with grass etc cut regularly, here in Thailand they just dont care making it hard for anyone living next to them.  I did see a snake trail across the road further down in the sand last year and it was from a large snake and from the same block of land so again maybe the same cobra, will not be going anywhere outside the fence line without the spear now, we have several vacant blocks plus a palm oil/rubber trees growing near us and have had to  kill a few snakes since building here, just one of the parts of living here but even at our other house in town we had to kill several cobras bailed up by our dogs over the years but not big ones like here.

I stopped using my Bangkok Bank card for online payments many years ago, ever since they changed to TPN it has been unreliable at best.

No problems whatsoever with my Kasikorn Bank cards, on the other hand. So that would be my recommendation if you're looking for a reliable alternative.

I am looking at changing banks if they do not sort this out as it effedts several things I pay for online including my anti virus software as well as a few other pieces of srftware to keep my computer safe and running.

  9. Males acting like females isnt the problem, I have known a few over the years and they were really great people,  its the ones that claim they are women that cause the problems, men should never be allowed to enter female events claiming they are a woman but as in this case running while looking like women is fine as long as they can only place in the males side unless a non binary/trans  section is added into the competition for them to compete in. If trans people want to enter events they should have their own category so only real females compete against other real females and trans people compete against other  trans people only, thjis is the only fair way to do it.

  10. My card is  a Mastercard issued by Bangkok Bank, this is part of the message they sent me "the bank has suspended payment transactions for goods and services with most online merchants registered abroad that do not use the OTP SMS service, as these platforms are often associated with fraudulent activities",.  My problem is that when I set my card up for international payments I had to accept that I took full responsibility for any fraudulent payments made on my card, now they are saying that the bank is changing the agreement we made which stops me using my card to make payments outside Thailand when Master Card is not thai and the money being used is mine(debit).

  11. Bangkok Bank has stopped international card payment unless OTP's are used, this stops online gaming, Netflix and several other businesses outside Thailand from now being able to be paid as they do not use OTP in payments. I find it strange as I have been using my card for years making payments without problems, Have to wonder if this has something to do with the tariffs being placed especially as Bangkok Bank is chinese backed, has anyone else using banks other than Bangkok Bank had this OTP thing  pushed on them, it started yesterday morning, had already made one payment that went through then 30 minutes later it no longer worked, very strange as no for warnings were made.

Maybe you can show the calculations on a $10 item 125% is $2.50?

my mistake, I kept writing 125% instead of the 25% I meant for some reason, big brain fade, remove the 1 from the percentage and you get the right numbers
