Thanks for all your help guys
Is anyone here from Hua Hin and/or know where the place here is for me to take the test?
-
I live in Hua Hin and recently there has been a lot of police stopping and checking for licenses, I know this is valid for a car but do you reckon sometimes the police won't have a proper read through the permit and let me get away with it?
Yes, happens very often, but also you might not. In the tourist areas they are now employing foreign volunteers to read the licenses to tell if it is correct.
Have the volunteers really got nothing better to do?
-
If I get caught it's just a 200 fine here normally, unless the officers having a bad day of course
I reckon I would get away with it if the officer couldn't speak/write English too well, but I know its worth getting a Thai licensee and cheap so I'm going to look into it more

It looks like this: http://www.driverabroad.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/idp-453x640.jpg
I'm not sure what's inside it, I will check when I'm at home. I'm living in Thailand as a resident not a tourist, but back in England my driving license is for a car not a bike.

Title says it all really..
I've got an international driving license which I made back in the UK, Just wondering if it works for driving a motorbike? -
No but Aeon has fee free withdraws .... the amount is different because the rate changed between your withdrawing not because the rate is different at each machine or bank.
Thank you!
-
My Banks Natwest from the UK and I have a debit card.
When I check my balance, sometimes the withdrawal amount is different depending on the ATM used.. is there a best bank that offers the best rates for cash withdrawals?
Thanks!

If buying the iPhone 4S at PowerBuy I might avoid discussing SIMs there, just to avoid confusion.
If you want to buy a TrueMove H pre-paid (micro-)SIM at a phone shop or a 7/11, that's fine. You can bring it with you and activate it when you buy the phone.
Do you have a feel for your calling requirements? How much data do you think you'd be using?
You could get an iPlay SIM: http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/3g/packages/iplay/entry/604
Then maybe layer on a data plan: iNET 599 http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/3g/packages/inet/entry/583
I'd always recommend an "unlimited" plan which offers unlimited internet usage, even though your speed will be reduced once you reach your threshold. This way you don;t have to worry about per minute or per KB overages.
You may also wish to consider a post-paid plan but that might require more a of long term commitment, along with a residency requirement.
I wouldn't be making to many calls, most of the time I use texts more than calls, I think the 'unlimited' plan sounds the best for me as I would be using the internet the most. At the moment I am spending about 200 baht a month on topping up my phone, if I get the internet on my phone I would be using less also as insted of texting I can just send messages via facebook.
So do you think I can get a unlimted plan where I can use internet as much as a like and in that package would it come with a certain ammount of minutes for calls?
Thanks for your help, you've been great!

Great, thanks for your help!
I live right near Powerbuy so will go check there. I am looking for a package which I can use there internet always so should I go speak to them about the sim card that would be best for me or go to a True/dtac etc shop?

Ok, so I want to buy an iphone 4s.
I live in Hua Hin but i've read about someone having a problem when buying on from there. So I'm thinking either A) Go to Bangkok to buy one or Order online.
On the apple store http://store.apple.com/th/buy/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone4s?product=IPHONE4S I can get one for 19,500 'unlocked' by the term 'unlocked' what does this mean exactly? Will I be able to put my old sim card into this phone?
Also If I ever have to go back to my home country, would I be able to use a UK sim card in the iphone ok? I've read somewhere that some phones are locked into the true network, but I am guessing that if the phone is 'unlocked' it means I can use any sim? Am I right?
if you think it's better to buy from Bangkok, does anyone know where's a good place to buy one and why it would be better to buy from the shop rather than online?
Any help would be great
Thanks!

I’m looking to buy a iphone 4s but I am wondering if it’s possible for me to pay for it month by month eg; 2,500baht each month..
My friend said they think it’s possible with a credit card, but the card I have is just a SCB debit card.
Anyone know if this is possible? Thanks

What is 'living illegally' ? Was he a squatter ?
From my point of view he did not anything wrong, just a guy who does not live conform some manmade rules.
It seems he lived in a house that was not occupied by someone else.
He stayed on a piece on earth that should be free to use for all of us.
He loved herbes that were made by God, with the reason to use them to free our minds.
This is not a criminal.
I was almost agreeing with you until you brought up that 'God' guy from the fairytale stories.
What is this 'god' thing you speak of? It is some kind of department store?

He looks like he is having a killer time.

I love Sukhumvit full stop. It’s a great place; I don’t need to go anywhere else when I come to Bkk. And you will always find what you need.
Maybe you’re getting to old.Only kidding.. But complaining isn’t going to get you anywhere or change anything, just get on with it and try find a new place..

If you are really worried about meeting him, why not tell her the truth? Say you are a bit concerned that he may have a problem with you and ask her to tell him about you before you meet him?
That way you will have a bit of a heads up if he wants to kill you -
This will be my first Songkran I will be spending in Hua Hin, just want to know is there any particular area where is good to party? Or is it the same everywhere?
Cheers

Good luck back home. When was the last time you were back there?
For me the journey has just started, I moved here when I was 19.. now I am 21 with what I hope to be a great future in Thailand ahead of me.. But life can't promise anything, will just have to wait and see what happens and take life as she comes!
But all I can say is the last 2 years of my life have been the best I have ever had and to be living here at my age is a dream come true.

Is Andy Carroll in the squad?
Hope not, we don't want him getting injured again, as at Villa this weekend.
If Villa play like they have been you shouldnt need to worry about having Carroll on the team
